	역대하 21:1-23:21 여호람은 자신의 형제와 방백들을 죽이고 산당을 세워 우상 숭배를 강요하는 등의 악정을 행하였다. 하나님께서는 그를 블레셋과 아라비아를 통해 징계하여 비참한 최후를 맞게 하셨다. 여호람의 아들 아하시야도 악정을 행하다가 예후의 손에 죽었다. 그러자 아달랴가 왕위 찬탈을 위해 다윗 왕가의 진멸을 꾀했는데, 결국은 극적으로 구출된 요아스가 여호야다의 개혁에 의해 왕위에 올랐다.

	여호람의 유다 통치(21:1-21:20)

ヨシャパテは先祖たちと共に眠り，先祖たちと共にダビデの町に葬られ，その子ヨラムが代って王となった．

ヨシャパテの子であるその兄弟たちはアザリヤ，エヒエル，ゼカリヤ，アザリヤ，ミカエルおよびシパテヤで，皆ユダの王ヨシャパテの子たちであった．

その父は彼らに金，銀，寶物の賜物を多く與え，またユダの要害の町¿を與えたが，ヨラムは長子なので，國はヨラムに與えた．

ヨラムはその父の位に登って强くなった時，その兄弟たちをことごとくつるぎにかけて殺し，またユダのつかさたち數人を殺した．

ヨラムは位についた時三十二歲で，エルサレムで八年の間世を治めた．

Then Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers and was buried with his fathers in the city of David, and Jehoram his son became king in his place.

He had brothers, the sons of Jehoshaphat: Azariah, Jehiel, Zechariah, Azaryahu, Michael and Shephatiah. All these were the sons of Jehoshaphat king of Israel.

Their father gave them many gifts of silver, gold and precious things, with fortified cities in Judah, but he gave the kingdom to Jehoram because he was the firstborn.

Now when Jehoram had taken over the kingdom of his father and made himself secure, he killed all his brothers with the sword, and some of the rulers of Israel also.

Jehoram was thirty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem.

彼はアハブの家がしたようにイスラエルの王たちの道に步んだ．アハブの娘を妻としたからである．このように彼は主の目の前に惡をおこなったが，

主はさきにダビデと結ばれた契約のゆえに，また彼とその子孫とにながく，ともしびを與えると約束されたことによって，ダビデの家を滅ぼすことを好まれなかった．

ヨラムの世にエドムがそむいて，ユダの支配を脫し，みずから王を立てたので，

ヨラムはその將校たち，およびすべての戰車を從えて渡って行き，夜のうちに立ち上がって，自分を包圍しているエドムびととその戰車の隊長たちを擊った．

エドムはこのようにそむいてユダの支配を脫し，今日に至っている．そのころリブナもまたそむいてユダの支配を脫した．ヨラムが先祖たちの神，主を捨てたからである．

He walked in the way of the kings of Israel, just as the house of Ahab did (for Ahab's daughter was his wife), and he did evil in the sight of the LORD.

Yet the LORD was not willing to destroy the house of David because of the covenant which He had made with David, and since He had promised to give a lamp to him and his sons forever.

In his days Edom revolted against the rule of Judah and set up a king over themselves.

Then Jehoram crossed over with his commanders and all his chariots with him. And he arose by night and struck down the Edomites who were surrounding him and the commanders of the chariots.

So Edom revolted against Judah to this day. Then Libnah revolted at the same time against his rule, because he had forsaken the LORD God of his fathers.

彼はまたユダの山地に高き所を造って，エルサレムの民に姦淫を行わせ，ユダを惑わした．

その時預言者エリヤから次のような一通の手紙がヨラムのもとに來た，「あなたの先祖ダビデの神，主はこう仰せられる，『あなたは父ヨシャパテの道に步まず，またユダの王アサの道に步まないで，

イスラエルの王たちの道に步み，ユダとエルサレムの民に，かのアハブの家がイスラエルに姦淫を行わせたように，姦淫を行わせ，またあなたの父の家の者で，あなたにまさっているあなたの兄弟たちを殺したゆえ，

主は大いなる災をもってあなたの民と子供と妻たちと，すべての所有を擊たれる．

あなたはまた內臟の病氣にかかって大病になり，それが日に日に重くなって，ついに內臟が出るようになる』」．

Moreover, he made high places in the mountains of Judah, and caused the inhabitants of Jerusalem to play the harlot and led Judah astray.

Then a letter came to him from Elijah the prophet saying, "Thus says the LORD God of your father David, 'Because you have not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat your father and the ways of Asa king of Judah,

but have walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and have caused Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to play the harlot as the house of Ahab played the harlot, and you have also killed your brothers, your own family, who were better than you,

behold, the LORD is going to strike your people, your sons, your wives and all your possessions with a great calamity;

and you will suffer severe sickness, a disease of your bowels, until your bowels come out because of the sickness, day by day.'"

その時，主はヨラムに對してエチオピヤびとの近くに住んでいるペリシテびととアラビヤびとの靈を振り起されたので，

彼らはユダに攻め上って，これを侵し，王の家にある貨財をことごとく奪い去り，またヨラムの子供と妻たちをも奪い去ったので，末の子エホアハズのほかには，ひとりも殘った者がなかった．

このもろもろの事の後，主は彼を擊って內臟にいえがたい病氣を起させられた．

時がたって，二年の終りになり，その內臟が病氣のために出て，重い病苦によって死んだ．民は彼の先祖のために香をたいたように，彼のために香をたかなかった．

ヨラムはその位についた時三十二歲で，八年の間エルサレムで世を治め，ついに死んだ．ひとりも彼を惜しむ者がなかった．人¿は彼をダビデの町に葬ったが，王たちの墓にではなかった．

Then the LORD stirred up against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines and the Arabs who bordered the Ethiopians;

and they came against Judah and invaded it, and carried away all the possessions found in the king's house together with his sons and his wives, so that no son was left to him except Jehoahaz, the youngest of his sons.

So after all this the LORD smote him in his bowels with an incurable sickness.

Now it came about in the course of time, at the end of two years, that his bowels came out because of his sickness and he died in great pain. And his people made no fire for him like the fire for his fathers.

He was thirty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years; and he departed with no one's regret, and they buried him in the city of David, but not in the tombs of the kings.

	아하시야의 유다 통치(22:1-22:12)

エルサレムの民はヨラムの末の子アハジヤを彼の代りに王とした．かつてアラビヤびとと一緖に陣營に攻めてきた一隊の者が上の子たちをことごとく殺したので，ユダの王ヨラムの子アハジヤが王となったのである．

アハジヤは王となった時四十二歲で，エルサレムで一年の間世を治めた．その母はオムリの娘で名をアタリヤといった．

アハジヤもまたアハブの家の道に步んだ．その母が彼の相談相手となって惡を行わせたからである．

彼はまたアハブの家がしたように主の目の前に惡を行った．すなわちその父が死んだ後，アハブの家の者がその相談役となったので，彼はついに自分を滅ぼすに至った．

アハジヤはまた彼らの勸めに從って，イスラエルの王アハブの子ヨラムと共にラモテ · ギレアデへ行き，スリヤの王ハザエルと戰ったが，スリヤびとはヨラムに傷を負わせた．

Then the inhabitants of Jerusalem made Ahaziah, his youngest son, king in his place, for the band of men who came with the Arabs to the camp had slain all the older sons. So Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah began to reign.

Ahaziah was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Athaliah, the granddaughter of Omri.

He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab, for his mother was his counselor to do wickedly.

He did evil in the sight of the LORD like the house of Ahab, for they were his counselors after the death of his father, to his destruction.

He also walked according to their counsel, and went with Jehoram the son of Ahab king of Israel to wage war against Hazael king of Aram at Ramoth-gilead. But the Arameans wounded Joram.

そこでヨラムはスリヤの王ハザエルと戰った時，ラマで負ったその傷をいやすためにエズレルに歸った．ユダの王ヨラムの子アハジヤはアハブの子ヨラムが病氣なのでエズレルに下ってこれを見舞った．

アハジヤがヨラムを見舞に行ったことによって滅びに至ったのは神によって定められたことである．すなわち彼がそこに着いた時，ヨラムと一緖に出て，ニムシの子エヒウを迎えた．エヒウは主がアハブの家を斷ち滅ぼすために油を注がれた者である．

エヒウはアハブの家を罰するにあたって，ユダのつかさたち，およびアハジヤの兄弟たちの子らがアハジヤに仕えているのを見たので，彼らをも殺した．

アハジヤはサマリヤに隱れていたが，エヒウが彼を搜し求めたので，人¿は彼を捕え，エヒウのもとに引いてきて，彼を殺した．ただし「彼は心をつくして主を求めたヨシャパテの子である」と人¿は言ったのでこれを葬った．こうしてアハジヤの家には國を統べ治めうる者がなくなった．

アハジヤの母アタリヤは自分の子の死んだのを見て，立ってユダの家の王子をことごとく滅ぼしたが，

So he returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which they had inflicted on him at Ramah, when he fought against Hazael king of Aram. And Ahaziah, the son of Jehoram king of Judah, went down to see Jehoram the son of Ahab in Jezreel, because he was sick.

Now the destruction of Ahaziah was from God, in that he went to Joram For when he came, he went out with Jehoram against Jehu the son of Nimshi, whom the LORD had anointed to cut off the house of Ahab.

It came about when Jehu was executing judgment on the house of Ahab, he found the princes of Judah and the sons of Ahaziah's brothers ministering to Ahaziah, and slew them.

He also sought Ahaziah, and they caught him while he was hiding in Samaria; they brought him to Jehu, put him to death and buried him For they said, "He is the son of Jehoshaphat, who sought the LORD with all his heart." So there was no one of the house of Ahaziah to retain the power of the kingdom.

Now when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she rose and destroyed all the royal offspring of the house of Judah.

王の娘エホシバはアハジヤの子ヨアシを王の子たちの殺される者のうちから盜み取り，彼とそのうばを寢室においた．こうしてエホシバがヨアシをアタリヤから隱したので，アタリヤはヨアシを殺さなかった．エホシバはヨラム王の娘，またアハジヤの妹で，祭司エホヤダの妻である．

こうしてヨアシは神の宮に隱れて彼らと共におること六年，その間アタリヤが國を治めた．

But Jehoshabeath the king's daughter took Joash the son of Ahaziah, and stole him from among the king's sons who were being put to death, and placed him and his nurse in the bedroom. So Jehoshabeath, the daughter of King Jehoram, the wife of Jehoiada the priest (for she was the sister of Ahaziah), hid him from Athaliah so that she would not put him to death.

He was hidden with them in the house of God six years while Athaliah reigned over the land.

	제사장 여호야다의 개혁(23:1-23:21)

第七年になって，エホヤダは勇氣をだしてエロハムの子アザリヤ，ヨハナンの子イシマエル，オベデの子アザリヤ，アダヤの子マアセヤ，ジクリの子エリシャパテなどの百人の長たちを招いて契約を結ばせた．

そこで彼らはユダを行きめぐって，ユダのすべての町からレビびとを集め，またイスラエルの氏族の長たちを集めて，エルサレムに來た．

そしてその會衆は皆神の宮で王と契約を結んだ．その時エホヤダは彼らに言った，「主がダビデの子孫のことについて言われたように，王の子が位につくべきです．

あなたがたのなすべき事はこれです．すなわちあなたがた祭司およびレビびとの安息日にはいって來る者の，三分の一は門を守る者となり，

三分の一は王の家におり，三分の一は礎の門におり，民は皆，主の宮の庭にいなさい．

Now in the seventh year Jehoiada strengthened himself, and took captains of hundreds: Azariah the son of Jeroham, Ishmael the son of Johanan, Azariah the son of Obed, Maaseiah the son of Adaiah, and Elishaphat the son of Zichri, and they entered into a covenant with him.

They went throughout Judah and gathered the Levites from all the cities of Judah, and the heads of the fathers' households of Israel, and they came to Jerusalem.

Then all the assembly made a covenant with the king in the house of God. And Jehoiada said to them, "Behold, the king's son shall reign, as the LORD has spoken concerning the sons of David.

"This is the thing which you shall do: one third of you, of the priests and Levites who come in on the sabbath, shall be gatekeepers,

and one third shall be at the king's house, and a third at the Gate of the Foundation; and all the people shall be in the courts of the house of the LORD.

祭司と，勤めをするレビびとのほかは，だれも主の宮に，はいってはならない．彼らは聖なる者であるから，はいることができる．民は皆，主の命令を守らなければならない．

レビびとはめいめい手に武器をとって王のまわりに立たなければならない．宮にはいる者をすべて殺しなさい．あなたがたは王がはいる時にも出る時にも，王と共にいなさい」．

そこでレビびとおよびユダの人¿は，祭司エホヤダがすべて命じたように行い，めいめいその組の者で，安息日にはいって來るべき者と，安息日に出て行くべき者を率いていた．祭司エホヤダが組の者を去らせなかったからである．

また祭司エホヤダは，神の宮にあるダビデ王のやりおよび大盾，小盾を百人の長たちに渡し，

また王を守るために，すべての民にめいめい手に武器をとらせ，宮の南側から北側にわたって，祭壇と宮に沿って立たせた．

"But let no one enter the house of the LORD except the priests and the ministering Levites; they may enter, for they are holy. And let all the people keep the charge of the LORD.

"The Levites will surround the king, each man with his weapons in his hand; and whoever enters the house, let him be killed. Thus be with the king when he comes in and when he goes out."

So the Levites and all Judah did according to all that Jehoiada the priest commanded. And each one of them took his men who were to come in on the sabbath, with those who were to go out on the sabbath, for Jehoiada the priest did not dismiss any of the divisions.

Then Jehoiada the priest gave to the captains of hundreds the spears and the large and small shields which had been King David's, which were in the house of God.

He stationed all the people, each man with his weapon in his hand, from the right side of the house to the left side of the house, by the altar and by the house, around the king.

こうして王の子を連れ出して，これに冠をいただかせ，あかしの書を渡して王となし，エホヤダおよびその子たちが彼に油を注いだ．そして「王万歲」と言った．

アタリヤは民の走りながら王をほめる聲を聞いたので，主の宮に入り，民の所へ行って，

見ると，王は入口で柱のかたわらに立ち，王のかたわらには將軍たちとラッパ手が立っており，また國の民は皆喜んでラッパを吹き，歌をうたう者は樂器をもってさんびしていたので，アタリヤは衣を裂いて「反逆だ，反逆だ」と叫んだ．

その時エホヤダは軍勢を統率する百人の長たちを呼び出し，「列の間から彼女を連れ出せ，彼女に從う者をつるぎで殺せ」と言った．祭司が彼女を主の宮で殺してはならないと言ったからである．

そこで人¿は彼女に手をかけ，王の家の馬の門の入口まで連れて行き，その所で彼女を殺した．

Then they brought out the king's son and put the crown on him, and gave him the testimony and made him king And Jehoiada and his sons anointed him and said, "Long live the king!"

When Athaliah heard the noise of the people running and praising the king, she came into the house of the LORD to the people.

She looked, and behold, the king was standing by his pillar at the entrance, and the captains and the trumpeters were beside the king. And all the people of the land rejoiced and blew trumpets, the singers with their musical instruments leading the praise. Then Athaliah tore her clothes and said, "Treason! Treason!"

Jehoiada the priest brought out the captains of hundreds who were appointed over the army and said to them, "Bring her out between the ranks; and whoever follows her, put to death with the sword." For the priest said, "Let her not be put to death in the house of the LORD."

So they seized her, and when she arrived at the entrance of the Horse Gate of the king's house, they put her to death there.

エホヤダは自分とすべての民と王との間に，彼らは皆，主の民となるとの契約を結んだ．

そこですべての民はバアルの家に行って，それをこわし，その祭壇とその像とを打ち ¿き，バアルの祭司マッタンを祭壇の前で殺した．

エホヤダはまた主の宮の守衛を，祭司とレビびとの指揮のもとに置いた．このレビびとは昔ダビデがモ ― セの律法にしるされているように，喜びと歌とをもって主に §祭をささげるために，主の宮に配置したものであって，今そのダビデの例にならったものである．

彼はまた主の宮のもろもろの門に門衛を置き，汚れた者は何によって汚れた者でも，はいらせないようにした．

こうしてエホヤダは百人の長たち，貴族たち，民のつかさたちおよび國のすべての民を率いて，主の宮から王を連れ下り，上の門から王の家に進み，王を國の位につかせた．

Then Jehoiada made a covenant between himself and all the people and the king, that they would be the LORD'S people.

And all the people went to the house of Baal and tore it down, and they broke in pieces his altars and his images, and killed Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars.

Moreover, Jehoiada placed the offices of the house of the LORD under the authority of the Levitical priests, whom David had assigned over the house of the LORD, to offer the burnt offerings of the LORD, as it is written in the law of Moses--with rejoicing and singing according to the order of David.

He stationed the gatekeepers of the house of the LORD, so that no one would enter who was in any way unclean.

He took the captains of hundreds, the nobles, the rulers of the people and all the people of the land, and brought the king down from the house of the LORD, and came through the upper gate to the king's house. And they placed the king upon the royal throne.

國の民は皆喜んだ．町はアタリヤがつるぎで殺された後，穩やかであった．

So all of the people of the land rejoiced and the city was quiet. For they had put Athaliah to death with the sword.
