욥기 13:1-15:35

 욥은 친구들이 말하는 고난에 대한 이해를 자신도 잘 알고 있다고 하면서, 그렇지만 그것이 자기의 경우와는 다르다고 하였다. 그리고 하나님과 직접 변론하여 자신의 결백을 밝히기 원한다고 말하였다. 그러자 엘리바스는 이러한 욥의 말을 정죄하면서, 악인의 고통스런 운명을 제시하며 하나님께 용서 구할 것을 촉구하였다.
  
  욥의 기도(13:1-14:22)    
 
  1. 見よ， わたしの 目は， ／これをことごとく 見た． わたしの 耳はこれを 聞いて 悟った．
  2. あなたがたの 知っている 事は， わたしも 知っている． わたしはあなたがたに 劣らない．
  3. しかしわたしは 全能者に 物を 言おう， ／わたしは 神と 論ずることを 望む．
  4. あなたがたは 僞りをもってうわべを 繕う 者， ／皆， 無用の 醫師だ．
  5. どうか， あなたがたは 全く 沈默するように． これがあなたがたの 知惠であろう．
  1. "Behold, my eye has seen all this, My ear has heard and understood it.
  2. "What you know I also know; I am not inferior to you.
  3. "But I would speak to the Almighty, And I desire to argue with God.
  4. "But you smear with lies; You are all worthless physicians.
  5. "O that you would be completely silent, And that it would become your wisdom!
  1. 今， わたしの 論ずることを 聞くがよい． わたしの 口で 言い 爭うことに 耳を 傾けるがよい．
  2. あなたがたは 神のために 不義を 言おうとするのか． また 彼のために 僞りを 述べるのか．
  3. あなたがたは 彼にひいきしようとするのか． 神のために 爭おうとするのか．
  4. 神があなたがたを 調べられるとき， ／あなたがたは 無事だろうか． あなたがたは 人を 欺くように ／彼を 欺くことができるか．
  5. あなたがたがもし， ひそかにひいきするならば， ／彼は 必ずあなたがたを 責められる．
  1. "Please hear my argument And listen to the contentions of my lips.
  2. "Will you speak what is unjust for God, And speak what is deceitful for Him?
  3. "Will you show partiality for Him? Will you contend for God?
  4. "Will it be well when He examines you? Or will you deceive Him as one deceives a man?
  5. "He will surely reprove you If you secretly show partiality.
  1. その 威嚴はあなたがたを 恐れさせないであろうか． 彼をおそれる 恐れがあなたがたに ／臨まないであろうか．
  2. あなたがたの 格言は 灰のことわざだ． あなたがたの 盾は 土の 盾だ．
  3. 默して， わたしにかかわるな， わたしは 話そう． 何事でもわたしに 來るなら， 來るがよい．
  4. わたしはわが 肉をわが 齒に 取り， ／わが 命をわが 手のうちに 置く．
  5. 見よ， 彼はわたしを 殺すであろう． わたしは 絶望だ． しかしなおわたしはわたしの 道を ／彼の 前に 守り 拔こう．
  1. "Will not His majesty terrify you, And the dread of Him fall on you?
  2. "Your memorable sayings are proverbs of ashes, Your defenses are defenses of clay.
  3. "Be silent before me so that I may speak; Then let come on me what may.
  4. "Why should I take my flesh in my teeth And put my life in my hands?
  5. "Though He slay me, I will hope in Him Nevertheless I will argue my ways before Him.
  1. これこそわたしの 救となる． 神を 信じない 者は， ／神の 前に 出ることができないからだ．
  2. あなたがたはよくわたしの 言葉を 聞き， ／わたしの 述べる 所を 耳に 入れよ．
  3. 見よ， わたしはすでにわたしの 立ち 場を 言い ¿べた． わたしは 義とされることをみずから 知っている．
  4. だれかわたしと 言い 爭う 事のできる 者があろうか． もしあるならば， わたしは 默して 死ぬであろう．
  5. ただわたしに 二つの 事を 許してください． そうすれば， わたしはあなたの 顔をさけて ／隱れることはないでしょう．
  1. "This also will be my salvation, For a godless man may not come before His presence.
  2. "Listen carefully to my speech, And let my declaration fill your ears.
  3. "Behold now, I have prepared my case; I know that I will be vindicated.
  4. "Who will contend with me? For then I would be silent and die.
  5. "Only two things do not do to me, Then I will not hide from Your face:
  1. あなたの 手をわたしから 離してください． あなたの 恐るべき 事をもって ／わたしを 恐れさせないでください．
  2. そしてお 呼びください， わたしは 答えます． わたしに 物を 言わせて， ／あなたご 自身， わたしにお 答えください．
  3. わたしのよこしまと， わたしの 罪がどれほどあるか． わたしのとがと 罪とをわたしに 知らせてください．
  4. なにゆえ， あなたはみ 顔をかくし， ／わたしをあなたの 敵とされるのか．
  5. あなたは 吹き 回される 木の 葉をおどし， ／干あがったもみがらを 追われるのか．
  1. Remove Your hand from me, And let not the dread of You terrify me.
  2. "Then call, and I will answer; Or let me speak, then reply to me.
  3. "How many are my iniquities and sins? Make known to me my rebellion and my sin.
  4. "Why do You hide Your face And consider me Your enemy?
  5. "Will You cause a driven leaf to tremble? Or will You pursue the dry chaff?
  1. あなたはわたしについて 苦き 事どもを 書きしるし， ／わたしに 若い 時の 罪を 繼がせ，
  2. わたしの 足を 足かせにはめ， ／わたしのすべての 道をうかがい， ／わたしの 足の 周圍に 限りをつけられる．
  3. このような 人は 腐れた 物のように 朽ち 果て， ／蟲に 食われた 衣服のようにすたれる．
  1. "For You write bitter things against me And make me to inherit the iniquities of my youth.
  2. "You put my feet in the stocks And watch all my paths; You set a limit for the soles of my feet,
  3. While I am decaying like a rotten thing, Like a garment that is moth-eaten.
 
 
  1. 女から 生れる 人は ／日が 短く， 惱みに 滿ちている．
  2. 彼は 花のように ¿き 出て 枯れ， ／影のように 飛び 去って， とどまらない．
  3. あなたはこのような 者にさえ 目を 開き， ／あなたの 前に 引き 出して， さばかれるであろうか．
  4. だれが 汚れたもののうちから 淸いものを ／出すことができようか， ひとりもない．
  5. その 日は 定められ， ／その 月の 數もあなたと 共にあり， ／あなたがその 限りを 定めて， ／越えることのできないようにされたのだから，
  1. "Man, who is born of woman, Is short-lived and full of turmoil.
  2. "Like a flower he comes forth and withers He also flees like a shadow and does not remain.
  3. "You also open Your eyes on him And bring him into judgment with Yourself.
  4. "Who can make the clean out of the unclean? No one!
  5. "Since his days are determined, The number of his months is with You; And his limits You have set so that he cannot pass.
  1. 彼から 目をはなし， 手をひいてください． そうすれば 彼は 雇人のように， ／その 日を 樂しむことができるでしょう．
  2. 木には 望みがある． たとい 切られてもまた 芽をだし， ／その 若枝は 絶えることがない．
  3. たといその 根が 地の 中に 老い， ／その 幹が 土の 中に 枯れても，
  4. なお 水の 潤いにあえば 芽をふき， ／若木のように 枝を 出す．
  5. しかし 人は 死ねば 消えうせる． 息が 絶えれば， どこにおるか．
  1. "Turn Your gaze from him that he may rest, Until he fulfills his day like a hired man.
  2. "For there is hope for a tree, When it is cut down, that it will sprout again, And its shoots will not fail.
  3. "Though its roots grow old in the ground And its stump dies in the dry soil,
  4. At the scent of water it will flourish And put forth sprigs like a plant.
  5. "But man dies and lies prostrate Man expires, and where is he?
  1. 水が 湖から 消え， ／川がかれて， かわくように，
  2. 人は 伏して 寢， また 起きず， ／天のつきるまで， 目ざめず， ／その 眠りからさまされない．
  3. どうぞ， わたしを 陰府にかくし， ／あなたの 怒りのやむまで， 潛ませ， ／わたしのために 時を 定めて， ／わたしを 覺えてください．
  4. 人がもし 死ねば， また 生きるでしょうか． わたしはわが 服役の 諸日の 間， ／わが 解放の 來るまで 待つでしょう．
  5. あなたがお 呼びになるとき， ／わたしは 答えるでしょう． あなたはみ 手のわざを 顧みられるでしょう．
  1. "As water evaporates from the sea, And a river becomes parched and dried up,
  2. So man lies down and does not rise. Until the heavens are no longer, He will not awake nor be aroused out of his sleep.
  3. "Oh that You would hide me in Sheol, That You would conceal me until Your wrath returns to You, That You would set a limit for me and remember me!
  4. "If a man dies, will he live again? All the days of my struggle I will wait Until my change comes.
  5. "You will call, and I will answer You; You will long for the work of Your hands.
  1. その 時あなたはわたしの 步みを 數え， ／わたしの 罪を 見のがされるでしょう．
  2. わたしのとがは 袋の 中に 封じられ， ／あなたはわたしの 罪を 塗りかくされるでしょう．
  3. しかし 山は 倒れてくずれ， ／岩もその 所から 移される．
  4. 水は 石をうがち， ／大水は 地のちりを 洗い 去る． このようにあなたは 人の 望みを 斷たれる．
  5. あなたはながく 彼に 勝って， 彼を 去り 行かせ， ／彼の 顔かたちを 變らせて 追いやられる．
  1. "For now You number my steps, You do not observe my sin.
  2. "My transgression is sealed up in a bag, And You wrap up my iniquity.
  3. "But the falling mountain crumbles away, And the rock moves from its place;
  4. Water wears away stones, Its torrents wash away the dust of the earth; So You destroy man's hope.
  5. "You forever overpower him and he departs; You change his appearance and send him away.
  1. 彼の 子らは 尊くなっても， 彼はそれを 知らない， ／卑しくなっても， それを 悟らない．
  2. ただおのが 身に 痛みを 覺え， ／おのれのために 嘆くのみである 」．
  1. "His sons achieve honor, but he does not know it; Or they become insignificant, but he does not perceive it.
  2. "But his body pains him, And he mourns only for himself."
 
  엘리바스의 두번째 충고(15:1-15:35)    
 
  1. そこで テマン びと エリパズ は 答えて 言った，
  2. 「知者はむなしき 知識をもって 答えるであろうか． 東風をもってその 腹を 滿たすであろうか．
  3. 役に 立たない 談話をもって 論じるであろうか． 無益な 言葉をもって 爭うであろうか．
  4. ところがあなたは 神を 恐れることを 捨て， ／神の 前に 祈る 事をやめている．
  5. あなたの 罪はあなたの 口を 敎え， ／あなたは 惡賢い 人の 舌を 選び 用いる．
  1. Then Eliphaz the Temanite responded,
  2. "Should a wise man answer with windy knowledge And fill himself with the east wind?
  3. "Should he argue with useless talk, Or with words which are not profitable?
  4. "Indeed, you do away with reverence And hinder meditation before God.
  5. "For your guilt teaches your mouth, And you choose the language of the crafty.
  1. あなたの 口みずからあなたの 罪を 定める， ／わたしではない． あなたのくちびるがあなたに 逆らって 證明する．
  2. あなたは 最初に 生れた 人であるのか． 山よりも 先に 生れたのか．
  3. あなたは 神の 會議にあずかったのか． あなたは 知惠を 獨占しているのか．
  4. あなたが 知るものは ／われわれも 知るではないか． あなたが 悟るものは ／われわれも 悟るではないか．
  5. われわれの 中にはしらがの 人も， ／年老いた 人もあって， ／あなたの 父よりも 年上だ．
  1. "Your own mouth condemns you, and not I; And your own lips testify against you.
  2. "Were you the first man to be born, Or were you brought forth before the hills?
  3. "Do you hear the secret counsel of God, And limit wisdom to yourself?
  4. "What do you know that we do not know? What do you understand that we do not?
  5. "Both the gray-haired and the aged are among us, Older than your father.
  1. 神の 慰めおよびあなたに 對するやさしい 言葉も， ／あなたにとって， あまりに 小さいというのか．
  2. どうしてあなたの 心は 狂うのか． どうしてあなたの 目はしばたたくのか．
  3. あなたが 神にむかって 氣をいらだて， ／このような 言葉をあなたの 口から 出すのはなぜか．
  4. 人はいかなる 者か， どうしてこれは 淸くありえよう． 女から 生れた 者は， どうして 正しくありえよう．
  5. 見よ， 神はその 聖なる 者にすら 信を 置かれない， ／もろもろの 天も 彼の 目には 淸くない．
  1. "Are the consolations of God too small for you, Even the word spoken gently with you?
  2. "Why does your heart carry you away? And why do your eyes flash,
  3. That you should turn your spirit against God And allow such words to go out of your mouth?
  4. "What is man, that he should be pure, Or he who is born of a woman, that he should be righteous?
  5. "Behold, He puts no trust in His holy ones, And the heavens are not pure in His sight;
  1. まして 憎むべき 汚れた 者， ／また 不義を 水のように 飮む 人においては．
  2. わたしはあなたに 語ろう， 聞くがよい． わたしは 自分の 見た 事を 述べよう．
  3. これは 知者たちがその 先祖からうけて， ／隱す 所なく 語り 傳えたものである．
  4. 彼らにのみこの 地は 授けられて， ／他國人はその 中に 行き 來したことがなかった．
  5. 惡しき 人は 一生の 間， もだえ 苦しむ． 殘酷な 人には 年の 數が 定められている．
  1. How much less one who is detestable and corrupt, Man, who drinks iniquity like water!
  2. "I will tell you, listen to me; And what I have seen I will also declare;
  3. What wise men have told, And have not concealed from their fathers,
  4. To whom alone the land was given, And no alien passed among them.
  5. "The wicked man writhes in pain all his days, And numbered are the years stored up for the ruthless.
  1. その 耳には 恐ろしい 音が 聞え， ／繁榮の 時にも 滅ぼす 者が 彼に 臨む．
  2. 彼は， 暗やみから 歸りうるとは 信ぜず， ／つるぎにねらわれる．
  3. 彼は 食物はどこにあるかと 言いつつさまよい， ／暗き 日が 手近に 備えられてあるのを 知る．
  4. 惱みと 苦しみとが 彼を 恐れさせ， ／戰いの 備えをした 王のように 彼に 打ち 勝つ．
  5. これは 彼が 神に 逆らってその 手を 伸べ， ／全能者に 逆らって 高慢にふるまい，
  1. "Sounds of terror are in his ears; While at peace the destroyer comes upon him.
  2. "He does not believe that he will return from darkness, And he is destined for the sword.
  3. "He wanders about for food, saying, 'Where is it?' He knows that a day of darkness is at hand.
  4. "Distress and anguish terrify him, They overpower him like a king ready for the attack,
  5. Because he has stretched out his hand against God And conducts himself arrogantly against the Almighty.
  1. 盾の 厚い 面をもって 强情に， ／彼にはせ 向かうからだ．
  2. また 彼は 脂肪をもってその 顔をおおい， ／その 腰には 脂肪の 肉を 集め，
  3. 滅ぼされた 町¿に 住み， ／人の 住まない 家， 荒塚となる 所におるからだ．
  4. 彼は 富める 者とならず， その 富はながく 續かない， ／また 地に 根を 張ることはない．
  5. 彼は 暗やみからのがれることができない． 炎はその 若枝を 枯らし， ／その 花は 風に 吹き 去られる．
  1. "He rushes headlong at Him With his massive shield.
  2. "For he has covered his face with his fat And made his thighs heavy with flesh.
  3. "He has lived in desolate cities, In houses no one would inhabit, Which are destined to become ruins.
  4. "He will not become rich, nor will his wealth endure; And his grain will not bend down to the ground.
  5. "He will not escape from darkness; The flame will wither his shoots, And by the breath of His mouth he will go away.
  1. 彼をしてみずから 欺いて， ／むなしい 事にたよらせてはならない． その 報いはむなしいからだ．
  2. 彼の 時のこない 前にその 事がなし 遂げられ， ／彼の 枝は 綠とならないであろう．
  3. 彼はぶどうの 木のように， ／その 熟さない 實をふり 落すであろう． また オリブ の 木のように， その 花を 落すであろう．
  4. 神を 信じない 者のやからは 子なく， ／まいないによる 天幕は 火で 燒き 滅ぼされるからだ．
  5. 彼らは 害惡をはらみ， 不義を 生み， ／その 腹は 僞りをつくる 」．
  1. "Let him not trust in emptiness, deceiving himself; For emptiness will be his reward.
  2. "It will be accomplished before his time, And his palm branch will not be green.
  3. "He will drop off his unripe grape like the vine, And will cast off his flower like the olive tree.
  4. "For the company of the godless is barren, And fire consumes the tents of the corrupt.
  5. "They conceive mischief and bring forth iniquity, And their mind prepares deception."
