- そこで， わたしは 主にあっておごそかに 勸める． あなたがたは 今後， 異邦人がむなしい 心で 步いているように 步いてはならない．

- So this I say, and affirm together with the Lord, that you walk no longer just as the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their mind,
- being darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart;
- and they, having become callous, have given themselves over to sensuality for the practice of every kind of impurity with greediness.
- But you did not learn Christ in this way,
- if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him, just as truth is in Jesus,

- すなわち， あなたがたは， 以前の 生活に 屬する， 情欲に 迷って 滅び 行く 古き 人を 脫ぎ 捨て，
- 心の 深みまで 新たにされて，
- 眞の 義と 聖とをそなえた 神にかたどって 造られた 新しき 人を 着るべきである．
- こういうわけだから， あなたがたは 僞りを 捨てて， おのおの 隣り 人に 對して， 眞實を 語りなさい． わたしたちは， お 互に 肢體なのであるから．
- 怒ることがあっても， 罪を 犯してはならない． 憤ったままで， 日が 暮れるようであってはならない．

- that, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit,
- and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind,
- and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.
- Therefore, laying aside falsehood, SPEAK TRUTH EACH ONE of you WITH HIS NEIGHBOR, for we are members of one another.
- BE ANGRY, AND yet DO NOT SIN; do not let the sun go down on your anger,

- また， 惡魔に 機會を 與えてはいけない．
- 盜んだ 者は， 今後， 盜んではならない． むしろ， 貧しい 人¿に 分け 與えるようになるために， 自分の 手で 正當な ¿きをしなさい．
- 惡い 言葉をいっさい， あなたがたの 口から 出してはいけない． 必要があれば， 人の 德を 高めるのに 役立つような 言葉を 語って， 聞いている 者の 益になるようにしなさい．
- 神の 聖靈を 悲しませてはいけない． あなたがたは， あがないの 日のために， 聖靈の 證印を 受けたのである．
- すべての 無慈悲， 憤り， 怒り， ¿ぎ， そしり， また， いっさいの 惡意を 捨て 去りなさい．

- and do not give the devil an opportunity.
- He who steals must steal no longer; but rather he must labor, performing with his own hands what is good, so that he will have something to share with one who has need.
- Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear.
- Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
- Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice.
