- これは 人に 知惠と 敎訓とを 知らせ， 悟りの 言葉をさとらせ，
- 賢い 行いと， 正義と 公正と ／公平の 敎訓をうけさせ，
- 思慮のない 者に 悟りを 與え， 若い 者に 知識と 愼みを 得させるためである．
- 賢い 者はこれを 聞いて 學に 進み， さとい 者は 指導を 得る．

- 人はこれによって ·言と， たとえと， 賢い 者の 言葉と， そのなぞとを 悟る．
- 主を 恐れることは 知識のはじめである， 愚かな 者は 知惠と 敎訓を 輕んじる．
- わが 子よ， あなたは 父の 敎訓を 聞き， 母の 敎を 捨ててはならない．
- それらは， あなたの 頭の 麗しい 冠となり， あなたの 首の 飾りとなるからである．
