	예레미야 5:1-6:30 유다의 선지자와 제사장 그리고 백성들 모두가 하나님의 규례를 어기며 가난한 자와 약한 자를 착취하는 죄를 범하였기 때문에 유다는 하나님의 심판을 피할 수 없었다. 하나님께서는 심판이 바벨론에 의한 전쟁으로 시행될 것이라고 선언하셨다. 임박한 바벨론의 침공을 앞두고 예레미야는 회개를 촉구했으나 백성과 지도자들은 이를 무시하고 듣지 않았다.

	유다 심판 이유(5:1-5:31)

エルサレムのちまたを行きめぐり，見て，知るがよい．その廣場を尋ねて，公平を行い，眞實を求める者が，ひとりでもあるか搜してみよ．あれば，わたしはエルサレムをゆるす．

彼らは，「主は生きておられる」と言うけれども，實は，僞って誓うのだ．

主よ，あなたの目は，眞實を顧みられるではありませんか．あなたが彼らを打たれても，痛みを覺えず，彼らを滅ぼされても，懲らしめを受けることを拒み，その顔を岩よりも堅くして，悔い改めることを拒みました．

それで，わたしは言った，「これらはただ貧しい愚かな人¿で，主の道と，神のおきてを知りません．

わたしは偉い人たちの所へ行って，彼らに語ります．彼らは主の道を知り，神のおきてを知っています」．ところが，彼らも皆おなじように，くびきを折り，なわめを斷っていた．

"Roam to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, And look now and take note And seek in her open squares, If you can find a man, If there is one who does justice, who seeks truth, Then I will pardon her.

"And although they say, 'As the LORD lives,' Surely they swear falsely."

O LORD, do not Your eyes look for truth? You have smitten them, But they did not weaken; You have consumed them, But they refused to take correction They have made their faces harder than rock; They have refused to repent.

Then I said, "They are only the poor, They are foolish; For they do not know the way of the LORD Or the ordinance of their God.

"I will go to the great And will speak to them, For they know the way of the LORD And the ordinance of their God " But they too, with one accord, have broken the yoke And burst the bonds.

それゆえ林から，ししが出てきて彼らを殺し，荒野から，おおかみが出てきて彼らを滅ぼす．ひょうは彼らの町¿をねらっている．そこから出る者はみな裂かれる．彼らの罪が多く，その背信がはなはだしいからである．

「わたしはどうしてあなたを，ゆるすことができようか．あなたの子どもらは，わたしを捨てさり，神でもないものをさして誓った．わたしが彼らを滿ち足らせた時，彼らは姦淫を行い，遊女の家に群れ集まった．

彼らは肥え太った丈夫な雄馬のように，おのおの，いなないて隣の妻を慕う．

わたしはこれらの事のために／彼らを罰しないでいられようか．このような國民にあだを返さないであろうか」と／主は言われる．

「あなたがたはユダのぶどうの ¿み木の間を，のぼって行って，滅ぼせ，ただ，ことごとく滅ぼしてはならない．その枝を切り除け，主のものではないからである．

Therefore a lion from the forest will slay them, A wolf of the deserts will destroy them, A leopard is watching their cities Everyone who goes out of them will be torn in pieces, Because their transgressions are many, Their apostasies are numerous.

"Why should I pardon you? Your sons have forsaken Me And sworn by those who are not gods When I had fed them to the full, They committed adultery And trooped to the harlot's house.

"They were well-fed lusty horses, Each one neighing after his neighbor's wife.

"Shall I not punish these people," declares the LORD, "And on a nation such as this Shall I not avenge Myself?

"Go up through her vine rows and destroy, But do not execute a complete destruction; Strip away her branches, For they are not the LORD'S.

イスラエルの家とユダの家とは／わたしにまったく不信であった」と主は言われる．

「彼らは主について僞り語って言った，『主は何事もなされない，災はわれわれに來ない，またつるぎや，ききんを見ることはない．

預言者らは風となり，彼らのうちに言葉はない．彼らはこのようになる』と」．

それゆえ万軍の神，主はこう言われる，「彼らがこの言葉を語ったので，見よ，わたしはあなたの口にある／わたしの言葉を火とし，この民をたきぎとする．火は彼らを燒き盡す」．

主は言われる，「イスラエルの家よ，見よ，わたしは遠い國の民を／あなたがたのところに攻めこさせる．その國は長く續く國，古い國で，あなたがたはその國の言葉を知らず，人¿の語るのを悟ることもできない．

"For the house of Israel and the house of Judah Have dealt very treacherously with Me," declares the LORD.

They have lied about the LORD And said, "Not He; Misfortune will not come on us, And we will not see sword or famine.

"The prophets are as wind, And the word is not in them. Thus it will be done to them!"

Therefore, thus says the LORD, the God of hosts, "Because you have spoken this word, Behold, I am making My words in your mouth fire And this people wood, and it will consume them.

"Behold, I am bringing a nation against you from afar, O house of Israel," declares the LORD "It is an enduring nation, It is an ancient nation, A nation whose language you do not know, Nor can you understand what they say.

その ·は開いた墓のようであり，彼らはみな勇士である．

彼らはあなたが刈り入れた物と，あなたの糧食とを食い盡し，あなたのむすこ娘を食い盡し，あなたの羊と牛を食い盡し，あなたのぶどうの木といちじくの木を食い盡し，またつるぎをもって，あなたが賴みとする／堅固な町¿を滅ぼす」．

主は言われる，「しかしその時でも，わたしはことごとくはあなたを滅ぼさない．

あなたの民が，『どうしてわれわれの神，主はこれらのすべての事をわれわれになされたのか』と言うならば，あなたは彼らに答えなければならない，『あなたがたがわたしを捨てて，自分の地で異なる神¿に仕えたように，あなたがたは自分のものでない地で異邦の人に仕えるようになる』と」．

これをヤコブの家にのべ，またユダに示して言え，

"Their quiver is like an open grave, All of them are mighty men.

"They will devour your harvest and your food; They will devour your sons and your daughters; They will devour your flocks and your herds; They will devour your vines and your fig trees; They will demolish with the sword your fortified cities in which you trust.

"Yet even in those days," declares the LORD, "I will not make you a complete destruction.

"It shall come about when they say, 'Why has the LORD our God done all these things to us?' then you shall say to them, 'As you have forsaken Me and served foreign gods in your land, so you will serve strangers in a land that is not yours.'

"Declare this in the house of Jacob And proclaim it in Judah, saying,

「愚かで，悟りもなく，目があっても見えず，耳があっても聞えない民よ，これを聞け．

主は言われる，あなたがたはわたしを恐れないのか，わたしの前におののかないのか．わたしは砂を置いて海の境とし，これを永遠の限界として，越えることができないようにした．波はさかまいても，勝つことはできない，鳴りわたっても，これを越えることはできない．

ところが，この民には强情な，そむく心があり，彼らはわき道にそれて，去ってしまった．

彼らは『われわれに雨を與え，秋の雨と春の雨を時にしたがって降らせ，われわれのために刈入れの時を定められた／われわれの神，主を恐れよう』と／その心のうちに言わないのだ．

あなたがたのとがは，これらの事をしりぞけ，あなたがたの罪は，良い物があなたがたに來るのをさまたげた．

'Now hear this, O foolish and senseless people, Who have eyes but do not see; Who have ears but do not hear.

'Do you not fear Me?' declares the LORD 'Do you not tremble in My presence? For I have placed the sand as a boundary for the sea, An eternal decree, so it cannot cross over it. Though the waves toss, yet they cannot prevail; Though they roar, yet they cannot cross over it.

'But this people has a stubborn and rebellious heart; They have turned aside and departed.

'They do not say in their heart, "Let us now fear the LORD our God, Who gives rain in its season, Both the autumn rain and the spring rain, Who keeps for us The appointed weeks of the harvest."

'Your iniquities have turned these away, And your sins have withheld good from you.

わが民のうちには惡い者があって，鳥をとる人のように身をかがめてうかがい，わなを置いて人を捕える．

かごに鳥が滿ちているように，彼らの家は不義の寶で滿ちている．それゆえ，彼らは大いなる者，裕福な者となり，

肥えて，つやがあり，その惡しき行いには際限がない．彼らは公正に，みなしごの訴えをさばいて，それを助けようとはせず，また貧しい人の訴えをさばかない．

主は言われる，わたしはこのような事のために，彼らを罰しないであろうか．わたしはこのような民に，あだを返さないであろうか」．

驚くべきこと，恐るべきことがこの地に起っている．

'For wicked men are found among My people, They watch like fowlers lying in wait; They set a trap, They catch men.

'Like a cage full of birds, So their houses are full of deceit; Therefore they have become great and rich.

'They are fat, they are sleek, They also excel in deeds of wickedness; They do not plead the cause, The cause of the orphan, that they may prosper; And they do not defend the rights of the poor.

'Shall I not punish these people?' declares the LORD, 'On a nation such as this Shall I not avenge Myself?'

"An appalling and horrible thing Has happened in the land:

預言者は僞って預言し，祭司は自分の手によって治め，わが民はこのようにすることを愛している．しかしあなたがたは／その終りにはどうするつもりか．

The prophets prophesy falsely, And the priests rule on their own authority; And My people love it so! But what will you do at the end of it?

	임박한 멸망(6:1-6:30)

ベニヤミンの人¿よ，エルサレムの中から避難せよ．テコアでラッパを吹き，ベテハケレムに合圖の火をあげよ．北から災が臨み，大いなる滅びが來るからである．

わたしは美しい，たおやかなシオンの娘を滅ぼす．

牧者たちは，その群れをひきいて來て，彼女を攻め，彼女の周圍に天幕を張る．群れはおのおのその所で草を食う．

「戰いを始め，彼女を攻めよ．立て，われわれは眞¿に攻擊しよう」．「わざわいなるかな，日ははや傾き，夕日の影は長くなった」．

「立て，われわれは夜の間に攻擊しよう，そして彼女のもろもろの宮殿を破壞しよう」．

"Flee for safety, O sons of Benjamin, From the midst of Jerusalem! Now blow a trumpet in Tekoa And raise a signal over Beth-haccerem; For evil looks down from the north, And a great destruction.

"The comely and dainty one, the daughter of Zion, I will cut off.

"Shepherds and their flocks will come to her, They will pitch their tents around her, They will pasture each in his place.

"Prepare war against her; Arise, and let us attack at noon. Woe to us, for the day declines, For the shadows of the evening lengthen!

"Arise, and let us attack by night And destroy her palaces!"

万軍の主はこう言われる，「あなたがたは彼女の木を切り倒し，エルサレムにむかって壘を築け．これは罰すべき町である，そのうちにはただ壓制だけがある．

井戶に新しい水がわくように／彼女はその惡を常にあらたに流す．そのうちには暴虐と破滅とが聞える．わたしの前に病と傷とが絶えない．

エルサレムよ，戒めを受けいれよ．さもないと，わたしはあなたから離れ，あなたを荒れ地とし，住む人のない地とする」．

万軍の主はこう言われる，「ぶどうの殘りを摘みとるように，イスラエルの殘りの民をのこらず摘み取れ．ぶどうを摘みとる人のように，あなたの手をふたたびその枝に伸ばせ」．

わたしはだれに語り，だれを戒めて，聞かせようか．見よ，彼らの耳は閉ざされて，聞くことができない．見よ，彼らは主の言葉をあざけり，それを喜ばない．

For thus says the LORD of hosts, "Cut down her trees And cast up a siege against Jerusalem This is the city to be punished, In whose midst there is only oppression.

"As a well keeps its waters fresh, So she keeps fresh her wickedness Violence and destruction are heard in her; Sickness and wounds are ever before Me.

"Be warned, O Jerusalem, Or I shall be alienated from you, And make you a desolation, A land not inhabited."

Thus says the LORD of hosts, "They will thoroughly glean as the vine the remnant of Israel; Pass your hand again like a grape gatherer Over the branches."

To whom shall I speak and give warning That they may hear? Behold, their ears are closed And they cannot listen Behold, the word of the LORD has become a reproach to them; They have no delight in it.

それゆえ，わたしの身には主の怒りが滿ち，それを忍ぶのに，うみつかれている．「それをちまたにいる子供らと，集まっている若い人¿とに漏らせ．夫も妻も，老いた人も，年のひじょうに進んだ人も捕えられ，

彼らの家と畑と妻とは共に他人に渡る．わたしが手を伸ばして，この地に住む者を擊つからである」と主は言われる．

「それは彼らが，小さい者から大きい者まで，みな不正な利をむさぼり，また預言者から祭司にいたるまで，みな僞りを行っているからだ．

彼らは，手輕にわたしの民の傷をいやし，平安がないのに『平安，平安』と言っている．

彼らは憎むべきことをして，恥じたであろうか．すこしも恥ずかしいとは思わず，また恥じることを知らなかった．それゆえ彼らは倒れる者と共に倒れる．わたしが彼らを罰するとき，彼らは倒れる」と主は言われる．

But I am full of the wrath of the LORD; I am weary with holding it in "Pour it out on the children in the street And on the gathering of young men together; For both husband and wife shall be taken, The aged and the very old.

"Their houses shall be turned over to others, Their fields and their wives together; For I will stretch out My hand Against the inhabitants of the land," declares the LORD.

"For from the least of them even to the greatest of them, Everyone is greedy for gain, And from the prophet even to the priest Everyone deals falsely.

"They have healed the brokenness of My people superficially, Saying, 'Peace, peace,' But there is no peace.

"Were they ashamed because of the abomination they have done? They were not even ashamed at all; They did not even know how to blush. Therefore they shall fall among those who fall; At the time that I punish them, They shall be cast down," says the LORD.

主はこう言われる，「あなたがたはわかれ道に立って，よく見，いにしえの道につき，良い道がどれかを尋ねて，その道に步み，そしてあなたがたの魂のために，安息を得よ．しかし彼らは答えて，『われわれはその道に步まない』と言った．

わたしはあなたがたの上に見張びとを立て，『ラッパの音に氣をつけよ』と言った．しかし彼らは答えて，『われわれは氣をつけることはしない』と言った．

それゆえ國¿の民よ，聞け．會衆よ，彼らにどのようなことが起るかを知れ．

地よ，聞け．見よ，わたしはこの民に災をくだす．それは彼らのたくらみの實である．彼らがわたしの言葉に氣をつけず，わたしのおきてを捨てたからである．

シバから，わたしの所に乳香が來，遠い國から，菖蒲が來るのはなんのためか．あなたがたの §祭はわたしには喜ばしくなく，あなたがたの ¿牲もうれしくはない．

Thus says the LORD, "Stand by the ways and see and ask for the ancient paths, Where the good way is, and walk in it; And you will find rest for your souls. But they said, 'We will not walk in it.'

"And I set watchmen over you, saying, 'Listen to the sound of the trumpet!' But they said, 'We will not listen.'

"Therefore hear, O nations, And know, O congregation, what is among them.

"Hear, O earth: behold, I am bringing disaster on this people, The fruit of their plans, Because they have not listened to My words, And as for My law, they have rejected it also.

"For what purpose does frankincense come to Me from Sheba And the sweet cane from a distant land? Your burnt offerings are not acceptable And your sacrifices are not pleasing to Me."

それゆえ主はこう言われる，『見よ，わたしはこの民の前につまずく石を置く，人¿は父も子も共にそれにつまずき，隣り人もその友も滅びる』」．

主はこう言われる，「見よ，民が北の國から來る，大いなる國民が地の果から興る．

彼らは弓とやりをとる．彼らは殘忍で，あわれみがなく，海のような響きを立てる．シオンの娘よ，彼らは馬に乘り，いくさ人のように身をよろって，あなたを攻める」．

われわれはそのうわさを聞いて，手は弱り，子を産む女に臨むような／惱みと苦しみとに捕えられた．

畑に出てはならない，また道を步いてはならない．敵はつるぎを持ち，恐れが四方にあるからだ．

Therefore, thus says the LORD, "Behold, I am laying stumbling blocks before this people And they will stumble against them, Fathers and sons together; Neighbor and friend will perish."

Thus says the LORD, "Behold, a people is coming from the north land, And a great nation will be aroused from the remote parts of the earth.

"They seize bow and spear; They are cruel and have no mercy; Their voice roars like the sea, And they ride on horses, Arrayed as a man for the battle Against you, O daughter of Zion!"

We have heard the report of it; Our hands are limp Anguish has seized us, Pain as of a woman in childbirth.

Do not go out into the field And do not walk on the road, For the enemy has a sword, Terror is on every side.

わが民の娘よ，荒布を身にまとい，灰の中にまろび，ひとり子を失った時のように，悲しみ，いたく嘆け．滅ぼす者が，にわかにわれわれを襲うからだ．

「わたしはあなたを民のうちに立てて，ためす者，試みる者とした．あなたが彼らの道を知り，それをためすことができるようにするためである．

彼らはみな，强情な反逆者であって，步きまわって人をそしる．彼らは靑銅や鐵であって，みな卑しいことを行う．

ふいごは激しく吹き，鉛は火にとけて盡き，精鍊はいたずらに進む．惡しき者がまだ除かれないからである．

主が彼らを捨てられたので，彼らは捨てられた銀と呼ばれる」．

O daughter of my people, put on sackcloth And roll in ashes; Mourn as for an only son, A lamentation most bitter. For suddenly the destroyer Will come upon us.

"I have made you an assayer and a tester among My people, That you may know and assay their way."

All of them are stubbornly rebellious, Going about as a talebearer They are bronze and iron; They, all of them, are corrupt.

The bellows blow fiercely, The lead is consumed by the fire; In vain the refining goes on, But the wicked are not separated.

They call them rejected silver, Because the LORD has rejected them.

	경책(警責, 6:10) 경고하여 책망함.

	심상히(尋常, 6:14) ‘심각한 상태가 아닌 것처럼’이란 뜻으로, 여기서는 유다 백성이 죄를 가볍게 여겼다는 의미
