- さて 兄弟たちよ． わたしたちの 主 イエス · キリスト の 來臨と， わたしたちがみもとに 集められることとについて， あなたがたにお 願いすることがある．
- 靈により， あるいは 言葉により， あるいはわたしたちから 出たという 手紙によって， 主の 日はすでにきたとふれまわる 者があっても， すぐさま 心を 動かされたり， あわてたりしてはいけない．
- だれがどんな 事をしても， それにだまされてはならない． まず 背敎のことが 起り， 不法の 者， すなわち， 滅びの 子が 現れるにちがいない．
- 彼は， すべて 神と 呼ばれたり 拜まれたりするものに 反抗して 立ち 上がり， 自ら 神の 宮に 座して， 自分は 神だと 宣言する．
- わたしがまだあなたがたの 所にいた 時， これらの 事をくり 返して 言ったのを 思い 出さないのか．

- Now we request you, brethren, with regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him,
- that you not be quickly shaken from your composure or be disturbed either by a spirit or a message or a letter as if from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come.
- Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction,
- who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God.
- Do you not remember that while I was still with you, I was telling you these things?

- そして， あなたがたが 知っているとおり， 彼が 自分に 定められた 時になってから 現れるように， いま 彼を 阻止しているものがある．
- 不法の 秘密の 力が， すでに ¿いているのである． ただそれは， いま 阻止している 者が 取り 除かれる 時までのことである．
- その 時になると， 不法の 者が 現れる． この 者を， 主 イエス は 口の 息をもって 殺し， 來臨の 輝きによって 滅ぼすであろう．
- 不法の 者が 來るのは， サタン の ¿きによるのであって， あらゆる 僞りの 力と， しるしと， 不思議と，
- また， あらゆる 不義の 惑わしとを， 滅ぶべき 者どもに 對して 行うためである． 彼らが 滅びるのは， 自分らの 救となるべき 眞理に 對する 愛を 受けいれなかった 報いである．

- And you know what restrains him now, so that in his time he will be revealed.
- For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way.
- Then that lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming;
- that is, the one whose coming is in accord with the activity of Satan, with all power and signs and false wonders,
- and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved.

- そこで 神は， 彼らが 僞りを 信じるように， 迷わす 力を 送り，
- こうして， 眞理を 信じないで 不義を 喜んでいたすべての 人を， さばくのである．
- しかし， 主に 愛されている 兄弟たちよ． わたしたちはいつもあなたがたのことを， 神に 感謝せずにはおられない． それは， 神があなたがたを 初めから 選んで， 御靈によるきよめと， 眞理に 對する 信仰とによって， 救を 得させようとし，
- そのために， わたしたちの 福音によりあなたがたを 召して， わたしたちの 主 イエス · キリスト の 榮光にあずからせて 下さるからである．
- そこで， 兄弟たちよ． 堅く 立って， わたしたちの 言葉や 手紙で 敎えられた 言傳えを， しっかりと 守り 續けなさい．

- For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false,
- in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness.
- But we should always give thanks to God for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth.
- It was for this He called you through our gospel, that you may gain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
- So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught, whether by word of mouth or by letter from us.

- どうか， わたしたちの 主 イエス · キリスト ご 自身と， わたしたちを 愛し， 惠みをもって 永遠の 慰めと 確かな 望みとを 賜わるわたしたちの 父なる 神とが，
- あなたがたの 心を 勵まし， あなたがたを 强めて， すべての 良いわざを 行い， 正しい 言葉を 語る 者として 下さるように．

- Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us eternal comfort and good hope by grace,
- comfort and strengthen your hearts in every good work and word.
