	다니엘 6:1-7:28 다리오 왕은 다니엘의 민첩함과 총명함을 보고 그를 세워 전국을 다스리게 하였으나, 이를 시기하는 총리들과 방백들의 음모로 다니엘은 사자굴에 던져졌다. 그러나 그는 하나님의 도우심으로 살아났고, 오히려 그를 참소했던 자들과 그의 가족들이 사자굴에 던져져 죽임을 당하였다. 벨사살 원년에 다니엘은 네 종류의 짐승에 관한 환상을 보았다.

	사자굴 속의 다니엘(6:1-6:28)

ダリヨスは全國を治めるために，その國に百二十人の總督を立てることをよしとし，

また彼らの上に三人の總監を立てた．ダニエルはそのひとりであった．これは總督たちをして，この三人の前に，その職務に關する報告をさせて，王に損失の及ぶことのないようにするためであった．

ダニエルは彼のうちにあるすぐれた靈のゆえに，他のすべての總監および總督たちにまさっていたので，王は彼を立てて全國を治めさせようとした．

そこで總監および總督らは，國事についてダニエルを訴えるべき口實を得ようとしたが，訴えるべきなんの口實も，なんのとがをも見いだすことができなかった．それは彼が忠信な人であって，その身になんのあやまちも，とがも見いだされなかったからである．

そこでその人¿は言った，「われわれはダニエルの神の律法に關して，彼を訴える口實を得るのでなければ，ついに彼を訴えることはできまい」と．

It seemed good to Darius to appoint 120 satraps over the kingdom, that they would be in charge of the whole kingdom,

and over them three commissioners (of whom Daniel was one), that these satraps might be accountable to them, and that the king might not suffer loss.

Then this Daniel began distinguishing himself among the commissioners and satraps because he possessed an extraordinary spirit, and the king planned to appoint him over the entire kingdom.

Then the commissioners and satraps began trying to find a ground of accusation against Daniel in regard to government affairs; but they could find no ground of accusation or evidence of corruption, inasmuch as he was faithful, and no negligence or corruption was to be found in him.

Then these men said, "We will not find any ground of accusation against this Daniel unless we find it against him with regard to the law of his God."

こうして總監と總督らは，王のもとに集まってきて，王に言った，「ダリヨス王よ，どうかとこしえに生きながらえられますように．

國の總監，長官および總督，參議および知事らは，相はかって，王が一つのおきてを立て，一つの禁令を定められるよう求めることになりました．王よ，それはこうです．すなわち今から三十日の間は，ただあなたにのみ願い事をさせ，もしあなたをおいて，神または人にこれをなす者があれば，すべてその者を，ししの穴に投げ入れるというのです．

それで王よ，その禁令を定め，その文書に署名して，メデアとペルシャの變ることのない法律のごとく，これを變えることのできないようにしてください」．

そこでダリヨス王は，その禁令の文書に署名した．

ダニエルは，その文書の署名されたことを知って家に歸り，二階のへやの，エルサレムに向かって窓の開かれた所で，以前からおこなっていたように，一日に三度ずつ，ひざをかがめて神の前に祈り，かつ感謝した．

Then these commissioners and satraps came by agreement to the king and spoke to him as follows: "King Darius, live forever!

"All the commissioners of the kingdom, the prefects and the satraps, the high officials and the governors have consulted together that the king should establish a statute and enforce an injunction that anyone who makes a petition to any god or man besides you, O king, for thirty days, shall be cast into the lions' den.

"Now, O king, establish the injunction and sign the document so that it may not be changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which may not be revoked."

Therefore King Darius signed the document, that is, the injunction.

Now when Daniel knew that the document was signed, he entered his house (now in his roof chamber he had windows open toward Jerusalem); and he continued kneeling on his knees three times a day, praying and giving thanks before his God, as he had been doing previously.

そこでその人¿は集まってきて，ダニエルがその神の前に祈り，かつ求めていることを見たので，

彼らは王の前にきて，王の禁令について奏上して言った，「王よ，あなたは禁令に署名して，今から三十日の間は，ただあなたにのみ願い事をさせ，もしあなたをおいて，神または人に，これをなす者があれば，すべてその者を，ししの穴に投げ入れると，定められたではありませんか」．王は答えて言った，「その事は確かであって，メデアとペルシャの法律のごとく，變えることのできないものだ」．

彼らは王の前に答えて言った，「王よ，ユダから引いてきた捕囚のひとりである，かのダニエルは，あなたをも，あなたの署名された禁令をも顧みず，一日に三度ずつ，祈をささげています」．

王はこの言葉を聞いて大いに憂え，ダニエルを救おうと心を用い，日の入るまで，彼を救い出すことに努めた．

時にその人¿は，また王のもとに集まってきて，王に言った，「王よ，メデアとペルシャの法律によれば，王の立てた禁令，または，おきては變えることのできないものであることを，ご承知ください」．

Then these men came by agreement and found Daniel making petition and supplication before his God.

Then they approached and spoke before the king about the king's injunction, "Did you not sign an injunction that any man who makes a petition to any god or man besides you, O king, for thirty days, is to be cast into the lions' den?" The king replied, "The statement is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which may not be revoked."

Then they answered and spoke before the king, "Daniel, who is one of the exiles from Judah, pays no attention to you, O king, or to the injunction which you signed, but keeps making his petition three times a day."

Then, as soon as the king heard this statement, he was deeply distressed and set his mind on delivering Daniel; and even until sunset he kept exerting himself to rescue him.

Then these men came by agreement to the king and said to the king, "Recognize, O king, that it is a law of the Medes and Persians that no injunction or statute which the king establishes may be changed."

そこで王は命令を下したので，ダニエルは引き出されて，ししの穴に投げ入れられた．王はダニエルに言った，「どうか，あなたの常に仕える神が，あなたを救われるように」．

そして一つの石を持ってきて，穴の口をふさいだので，王は自分の印と，大臣らの印をもって，これに封印した．これはダニエルの處置を變えることのないようにするためであった．

こうして王はその宮殿に歸ったが，その夜は食をとらず，また，そばめたちを召し寄せず，全く眠ることもしなかった．

こうして王は朝まだき起きて，ししの穴へ急いで行ったが，

ダニエルのいる穴に近づいたとき，悲しげな聲をあげて呼ばわり，ダニエルに言った，「生ける神のしもべダニエルよ，あなたが常に仕えている神はあなたを救って，ししの害を免れさせることができたか」．

Then the king gave orders, and Daniel was brought in and cast into the lions' den The king spoke and said to Daniel, "Your God whom you constantly serve will Himself deliver you."

A stone was brought and laid over the mouth of the den; and the king sealed it with his own signet ring and with the signet rings of his nobles, so that nothing would be changed in regard to Daniel.

Then the king went off to his palace and spent the night fasting, and no entertainment was brought before him; and his sleep fled from him.

Then the king arose at dawn, at the break of day, and went in haste to the lions' den.

When he had come near the den to Daniel, he cried out with a troubled voice. The king spoke and said to Daniel, "Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you constantly serve, been able to deliver you from the lions?"

ダニエルは王に言った，「王よ，どうか，とこしえに生きながらえられますように．

わたしの神はその使をおくって，ししの口を閉ざされたので，ししはわたしを害しませんでした．これはわたしに罪のないことが，神の前に認められたからです．王よ，わたしはあなたの前にも，何も惡い事をしなかったのです」．

そこで王は大いに喜び，ダニエルを穴の中から出せと命じたので，ダニエルは穴の中から出されたが，その身になんの害をも受けていなかった．これは彼が自分の神を賴みとしていたからである．

王はまた命令を下して，ダニエルをあしざまに訴えた人¿を引いてこさせ，彼らをその妻子と共に，ししの穴に投げ入れさせた．彼らが穴の底に達しないうちに，ししは彼らにとびかかって，その骨までもかみ ¿いた．

そこでダリヨス王は全世界に住む諸民，諸族，諸國語の者に詔を書きおくって言った，「どうか，あなたがたに平安が增すように．

Then Daniel spoke to the king, "O king, live forever!

"My God sent His angel and shut the lions' mouths and they have not harmed me, inasmuch as I was found innocent before Him; and also toward you, O king, I have committed no crime."

Then the king was very pleased and gave orders for Daniel to be taken up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den and no injury whatever was found on him, because he had trusted in his God.

The king then gave orders, and they brought those men who had maliciously accused Daniel, and they cast them, their children and their wives into the lions' den; and they had not reached the bottom of the den before the lions overpowered them and crushed all their bones.

Then Darius the king wrote to all the peoples, nations and men of every language who were living in all the land: "May your peace abound!

わたしは命令を出す．わが國のすべての州の人は，皆ダニエルの神を，おののき恐れなければならない．彼は生ける神であって，とこしえに變ることなく，その國は滅びず，その主權は終りまで續く．

彼は救を施し，助けをなし，天においても，地においても，しるしと奇跡とをおこない，ダニエルを救って，ししの力をのがれさせたかたである」．

こうして，このダニエルはダリヨスの世と，ペルシャ人クロスの世において榮えた．

"I make a decree that in all the dominion of my kingdom men are to fear and tremble before the God of Daniel; For He is the living God and enduring forever, And His kingdom is one which will not be destroyed, And His dominion will be forever.

"He delivers and rescues and performs signs and wonders In heaven and on earth, Who has also delivered Daniel from the power of the lions."

So this Daniel enjoyed success in the reign of Darius and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.

	다니엘의 첫 환상(7:1-7:28)

バビロンの王ベルシャザルの元年に，ダニエルは床にあって夢を見，また惱中に幻を得たので，彼はその夢をしるして，その事の大意を述べた．

ダニエルは述べて言った，「わたしは夜の幻のうちに見た．見よ，天の四方からの風が大海をかきたてると，

四つの大きな ¿が海からあがってきた．その形は，おのおの異なり，

第一のものは，ししのようで，わしの翼をもっていたが，わたしが見ていると，その翼は拔きとられ，また地から起されて，人のように二本の足で立たせられ，かつ人の心が與えられた．

見よ，第二の ¿は熊のようであった．これはそのからだの一方をあげ，その口の齒の間に，三本の肋骨をくわえていたが，これに向かって『起きあがって，多くの肉を食らえ』と言う聲があった．

In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel saw a dream and visions in his mind as he lay on his bed; then he wrote the dream down and related the following summary of it.

Daniel said, "I was looking in my vision by night, and behold, the four winds of heaven were stirring up the great sea.

"And four great beasts were coming up from the sea, different from one another.

"The first was like a lion and had the wings of an eagle. I kept looking until its wings were plucked, and it was lifted up from the ground and made to stand on two feet like a man; a human mind also was given to it.

"And behold, another beast, a second one, resembling a bear. And it was raised up on one side, and three ribs were in its mouth between its teeth; and thus they said to it, 'Arise, devour much meat!'

その後わたしが見たのは，ひょうのような ¿で，その背には鳥の翼が四つあった．またこの ¿には四つの頭があり，主權が與えられた．

その後わたしが夜の幻のうちに見た第四の ¿は，恐ろしい，ものすごい，非常に强いもので，大きな鐵の齒があり，食らい，かつ，かみ ¿いて，その殘りを足で踏みつけた．これは，その前に出たすべての ¿と違って，十の角を持っていた．

わたしが，その角を注意して見ていると，その中に，また一つの小さい角が出てきたが，この小さい角のために，さきの角のうち三つがその根から拔け落ちた．見よ，この小さい角には，人の目のような目があり，また大きな事を語る口があった．

わたしが見ていると，もろもろのみ座が設けられて，日の老いたる者が座しておられた．その衣は雪のように白く，頭の毛は混じりもののない羊の毛のようであった．そのみ座は火の炎であり，その車輪は燃える火であった．

彼の前から，ひと筋の火の流れが出てきた．彼に仕える者は千¿，彼の前にはべる者は万¿，審判を行う者はその席に着き，かずかずの書き物が開かれた．

"After this I kept looking, and behold, another one, like a leopard, which had on its back four wings of a bird; the beast also had four heads, and dominion was given to it.

"After this I kept looking in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, dreadful and terrifying and extremely strong; and it had large iron teeth It devoured and crushed and trampled down the remainder with its feet; and it was different from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns.

"While I was contemplating the horns, behold, another horn, a little one, came up among them, and three of the first horns were pulled out by the roots before it; and behold, this horn possessed eyes like the eyes of a man and a mouth uttering great boasts.

"I kept looking Until thrones were set up, And the Ancient of Days took His seat; His vesture was like white snow And the hair of His head like pure wool His throne was ablaze with flames, Its wheels were a burning fire.

"A river of fire was flowing And coming out from before Him; Thousands upon thousands were attending Him, And myriads upon myriads were standing before Him; The court sat, And the books were opened.

わたしは，その角の語る大いなる言葉の聲がするので見ていたが，わたしが見ている間にその ¿は殺され，そのからだはそこなわれて，燃える火に投げ入れられた．

その他の ¿はその主權を奪われたが，その命は，時と季節の來るまで延ばされた．

わたしはまた夜の幻のうちに見ていると，見よ，人の子のような者が，天の雲に乘ってきて，日の老いたる者のもとに來ると，その前に導かれた．

彼に主權と光榮と國とを賜い，諸民，諸族，諸國語の者を彼に仕えさせた．その主權は永遠の主權であって，なくなることがなく，その國は滅びることがない．

そこで，われダニエル，わがうちなる靈は憂え，わが腦中の幻は，わたしを惱ましたので，

"Then I kept looking because of the sound of the boastful words which the horn was speaking; I kept looking until the beast was slain, and its body was destroyed and given to the burning fire.

"As for the rest of the beasts, their dominion was taken away, but an extension of life was granted to them for an appointed period of time.

"I kept looking in the night visions, And behold, with the clouds of heaven One like a Son of Man was coming, And He came up to the Ancient of Days And was presented before Him.

"And to Him was given dominion, Glory and a kingdom, That all the peoples, nations and men of every language Might serve Him His dominion is an everlasting dominion Which will not pass away; And His kingdom is one Which will not be destroyed.

"As for me, Daniel, my spirit was distressed within me, and the visions in my mind kept alarming me.

わたしは，そこに立っている者のひとりに近寄って，このすべての事の眞意を尋ねた．するとその者は，わたしにこの事の解き明かしを告げ知らせた．

『この四つの大きな ¿は，地に起らんとする四人の王である．

しかしついには，いと高き者の聖徒が國を受け，永遠にその國を保って，世¿かぎりなく續く』．

そこでわたしは，さらに第四の ¿の眞意を知ろうとした．その ¿は他の ¿と異なって，はなはだ恐ろしく，その齒は鐵，そのつめは靑銅であって，食らい，かつ，かみ ¿いて，その殘りを足で踏みつけた．

この ¿の頭には，十の角があったが，そのほかに一つの角が出てきたので，この角のために，三つの角が拔け落ちた．この角には目があり，また大きな事を語る口があって，その形は，その同類のものよりも大きく見えた．

"I approached one of those who were standing by and began asking him the exact meaning of all this So he told me and made known to me the interpretation of these things:

'These great beasts, which are four in number, are four kings who will arise from the earth.

'But the saints of the Highest One will receive the kingdom and possess the kingdom forever, for all ages to come.'

"Then I desired to know the exact meaning of the fourth beast, which was different from all the others, exceedingly dreadful, with its teeth of iron and its claws of bronze, and which devoured, crushed and trampled down the remainder with its feet,

and the meaning of the ten horns that were on its head and the other horn which came up, and before which three of them fell, namely, that horn which had eyes and a mouth uttering great boasts and which was larger in appearance than its associates.

わたしが見ていると，この角は聖徒と戰って，彼らに勝ったが，

ついに日の老いたる者がきて，いと高き者の聖徒のために審判をおこなった．そしてその時がきて，この聖徒たちは國を受けた．

彼はこう言った，『第四の ¿は地上の第四の國である．これはすべての國と異なって，全世界を倂合し，これを踏みつけ，かつ打ち ¿く．

十の角はこの國から起る十人の王である．その後にまたひとりの王が起る．彼は先の者と異なり，かつ，その三人の王を倒す．

彼は，いと高き者に敵して言葉を出し，かつ，いと高き者の聖徒を惱ます．彼はまた時と律法とを變えようと望む．聖徒はひと時と，ふた時と，半時の間，彼の手にわたされる．

"I kept looking, and that horn was waging war with the saints and overpowering them

until the Ancient of Days came and judgment was passed in favor of the saints of the Highest One, and the time arrived when the saints took possession of the kingdom.

"Thus he said: 'The fourth beast will be a fourth kingdom on the earth, which will be different from all the other kingdoms and will devour the whole earth and tread it down and crush it.

'As for the ten horns, out of this kingdom ten kings will arise; and another will arise after them, and he will be different from the previous ones and will subdue three kings.

'He will speak out against the Most High and wear down the saints of the Highest One, and he will intend to make alterations in times and in law; and they will be given into his hand for a time, times, and half a time.

しかし審判が行われ，彼の主權は奪われて，永遠に滅び絶やされ，

國と主權と全天下の國¿の權威とは，いと高き者の聖徒たる民に與えられる．彼らの國は永遠の國であって，諸國の者はみな彼らに仕え，かつ從う』．

その事はここで終った．われダニエルは，これを思いまわして，非常に惱み，顔色も變った．しかし，わたしはこの事を心に留めた」．

'But the court will sit for judgment, and his dominion will be taken away, annihilated and destroyed forever.

'Then the sovereignty, the dominion and the greatness of all the kingdoms under the whole heaven will be given to the people of the saints of the Highest One; His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, and all the dominions will serve and obey Him.'

"At this point the revelation ended. As for me, Daniel, my thoughts were greatly alarming me and my face grew pale, but I kept the matter to myself."
