창세기 16:1-17:27

 자식을 낳지 못하던 아브람의 아내 사래는 몸종 하갈을 통해 이스마엘을 낳게 했다. 아브람의 나이 99세 때, 하나님께서 아브람과 사래의 이름을 아브라함과 사라로 바꿀 것을 명하시고 언약의 후손 이삭이 태어날 것을 말씀하셨다. 그리고 집안의 모든 남자들에게 언약의 표인 할례를 시행하게 하셨다.
  
  이스마엘의 출생(16:1-16:16)    
 
  1. アブラム の 妻 サライ には， 子供が 生まれなかった． 彼女には， ハガル という エジプト 人の 女奴隷がいた．
  2. サライ は アブラム に 言った． 「主はわたしに 子供を 授けてくださいません． どうぞ， わたしの 女奴隷のところに 入ってください． わたしは 彼女によって， 子供を 與えられるかもしれません． 」 アブラム は， サライ の 願いを 聞き 入れた．
  3. アブラム の 妻 サライ は， エジプト 人の 女奴隷 ハガル を 連れて 來て， 夫 アブラム の 側女とした． アブラム が カナン 地方に 住んでから， 十年後のことであった．
  4. アブラム は ハガル のところに 入り， 彼女は 身ごもった． ところが， 自分が 身ごもったのを 知ると， 彼女は 女主人を 輕んじた．
  5. サライ は アブラム に 言った． 「わたしが 不當な 目に 遭ったのは， あなたのせいです． 女奴隷をあなたのふところに 與えたのはわたしなのに， 彼女は 自分が 身ごもったのを 知ると， わたしを 輕んじるようになりました． 主がわたしとあなたとの 間を 裁かれますように． 」
  1. Now Sarai, Abram's wife, had borne him no children. But she had an Egyptian maidservant named Hagar;
  2. so she said to Abram, "The LORD has kept me from having children. Go, sleep with my maidservant; perhaps I can build a family through her." Abram agreed to what Sarai said.
  3. So after Abram had been living in Canaan ten years, Sarai his wife took her Egyptian maidservant Hagar and gave her to her husband to be his wife.
  4. He slept with Hagar, and she conceived. When she knew she was pregnant, she began to despise her mistress.
  5. Then Sarai said to Abram, "You are responsible for the wrong I am suffering. I put my servant in your arms, and now that she knows she is pregnant, she despises me. May the LORD judge between you and me."
  1. アブラム は サライ に 答えた． 「あなたの 女奴隷はあなたのものだ． 好きなようにするがいい． 」 サライ は 彼女につらく 當たったので， 彼女は サライ のもとから 逃げた．

  5. 主の 御使いは 更に 言った． 「わたしは， あなたの 子孫を 數えきれないほど 多く 增やす． 」
  1. "Your servant is in your hands," Abram said. "Do with her whatever you think best." Then Sarai mistreated Hagar; so she fled from her.
  2. The angel of the LORD found Hagar near a spring in the desert; it was the spring that is beside the road to Shur.
  3. And he said, "Hagar, servant of Sarai, where have you come from, and where are you going?" "I'm running away from my mistress Sarai," she answered.
  4. Then the angel of the LORD told her, "Go back to your mistress and submit to her."
  5. The angel added, "I will so increase your descendants that they will be too numerous to count."
  1. 主の 御使いはまた 言った． 「今， あなたは 身ごもっている． やがてあなたは 男の 子を 産む． その 子を イシュマエル と 名付けなさい ／主があなたの 惱みをお 聞きになられたから．

  1. The angel of the LORD also said to her: "You are now with child and you will have a son. You shall name him Ishmael, for the LORD has heard of your misery.
  2. He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyone's hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers."
  3. She gave this name to the LORD who spoke to her: "You are the God who sees me," for she said, "I have now seen the One who sees me."
  4. That is why the well was called Beer Lahai Roi ; it is still there, between Kadesh and Bered.
  5. So Hagar bore Abram a son, and Abram gave the name Ishmael to the son she had borne.
  1. ハガル が イシュマエル を 産んだとき， アブラム は 八十六歲であった．
  1. Abram was eighty-six years old when Hagar bore him Ishmael.
 
  언약의 표인 할례(17:1-17:27)    
 
  1. アブラム が 九十九歲になったとき， 主は アブラム に 現れて 言われた． 「わたしは 全能の 神である． あなたはわたしに 從って 步み， 全き 者となりなさい．
  2. わたしは， あなたとの 間にわたしの 契約を 立て， あなたをますます 增やすであろう． 」
  3. アブラム はひれ 伏した． 神は 更に， 語りかけて 言われた．
  4. 「これがあなたと 結ぶわたしの 契約である． あなたは 多くの 國民の 父となる．
  5. あなたは， もはや アブラム ではなく， アブラハム と 名乘りなさい． あなたを 多くの 國民の 父とするからである．
  1. When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to him and said, "I am God Almighty ; walk before me and be blameless.
  2. I will confirm my covenant between me and you and will greatly increase your numbers."
  3. Abram fell facedown, and God said to him,
  4. "As for me, this is my covenant with you: You will be the father of many nations.
  5. No longer will you be called Abram ; your name will be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations.
  1. わたしは， あなたをますます 繁榮させ， 諸國民の 父とする． 王となる 者たちがあなたから 出るであろう．
  2. わたしは， あなたとの 間に， また 後に 續く 子孫との 間に 契約を 立て， それを 永遠の 契約とする． そして， あなたとあなたの 子孫の 神となる．

  1. I will make you very fruitful; I will make nations of you, and kings will come from you.
  2. I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you.
  3. The whole land of Canaan, where you are now an alien, I will give as an everlasting possession to you and your descendants after you; and I will be their God."
  4. Then God said to Abraham, "As for you, you must keep my covenant, you and your descendants after you for the generations to come.
  5. This is my covenant with you and your descendants after you, the covenant you are to keep: Every male among you shall be circumcised.
  1. 包皮の 部分を 切り 取りなさい． これが， わたしとあなたたちとの 間の 契約のしるしとなる．
  2. いつの 時代でも， あなたたちの 男子はすべて， 直系の 子孫はもちろんのこと， 家で 生まれた 奴隷も， 外國人から 買い 取った 奴隷であなたの 子孫でない 者も 皆， 生まれてから 八日目に 割禮を 受けなければならない．

  5. 神は アブラハム に 言われた． 「あなたの 妻 サライ は， 名前を サライ ではなく， サラ と 呼びなさい．
  1. You are to undergo circumcision, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and you.
  2. For the generations to come every male among you who is eight days old must be circumcised, including those born in your household or bought with money from a foreigner--those who are not your offspring.
  3. Whether born in your household or bought with your money, they must be circumcised. My covenant in your flesh is to be an everlasting covenant.
  4. Any uncircumcised male, who has not been circumcised in the flesh, will be cut off from his people; he has broken my covenant."
  5. God also said to Abraham, "As for Sarai your wife, you are no longer to call her Sarai; her name will be Sarah.
  1. わたしは 彼女を 祝福し， 彼女によってあなたに 男の 子を 與えよう． わたしは 彼女を 祝福し， 諸國民の 母とする． 諸民族の 王となる 者たちが 彼女から 出る． 」
  2. アブラハム はひれ 伏した． しかし 笑って， ひそかに 言った． 「百歲の 男に 子供が 生まれるだろうか． 九十歲の サラ に 子供が 産めるだろうか． 」

  1. I will bless her and will surely give you a son by her. I will bless her so that she will be the mother of nations; kings of peoples will come from her."
  2. Abraham fell facedown; he laughed and said to himself, "Will a son be born to a man a hundred years old? Will Sarah bear a child at the age of ninety?"
  3. And Abraham said to God, "If only Ishmael might live under your blessing!"
  4. Then God said, "Yes, but your wife Sarah will bear you a son, and you will call him Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him.
  5. And as for Ishmael, I have heard you: I will surely bless him; I will make him fruitful and will greatly increase his numbers. He will be the father of twelve rulers, and I will make him into a great nation.
  1. しかし， わたしの 契約は， 來年の 今ごろ， サラ があなたとの 間に 産む イサク と 立てる． 」
  2. 神はこう 語り 終えると， アブラハム を 離れて 昇って 行かれた．
  3. アブラハム は， 息子の イシュマエル をはじめ， 家で 生まれた 奴隷や 買い 取った 奴隷など， 自分の 家にいる 人¿のうち， 男子を 皆集めて， すぐその 日に， 神が 命じられたとおり 包皮に 割禮を 施した．
  4. アブラハム が 包皮に 割禮を 受けたのは， 九十九歲，
  5. 息子 イシュマエル が 包皮に 割禮を 受けたのは， 十三歲であった．
  1. But my covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear to you by this time next year."
  2. When he had finished speaking with Abraham, God went up from him.
  3. On that very day Abraham took his son Ishmael and all those born in his household or bought with his money, every male in his household, and circumcised them, as God told him.
  4. Abraham was ninety-nine years old when he was circumcised,
  5. and his son Ishmael was thirteen;
  1. アブラハム と 息子の イシュマエル は， すぐその 日に 割禮を 受けた．
  2. アブラハム の 家の 男子は， 家で 生まれた 奴隷も 外國人から 買い 取った 奴隷も 皆， 共に 割禮を 受けた．
  1. Abraham and his son Ishmael were both circumcised on that same day.
  2. And every male in Abraham's household, including those born in his household or bought from a foreigner, was circumcised with him.
