창세기 30:1-30:43

 야곱은 라헬과 레아의 여종들까지 동원한 경쟁적 출산으로 열한 아들을 얻었다. 야곱은 라반에게 품삯을 요구하여 양들 중에서 아롱진 것, 점 있는 것, 얼룩 무늬 있는 것을 자신의 몫으로 정한 후 바라봄의 법칙을 사용하여 풍부한 소유를 갖게 되었다.
  
  레아와 라헬의 출산 경쟁(30:1-30:24)    
 
  1. ラケル は， ヤコブ との 間に 子供ができないことが 分かると， 姉をねたむようになり， ヤコブ に 向かって， 「わたしにもぜひ 子供を 與えてください． 與えてくださらなければ， わたしは 死にます 」と 言った．
  2. ヤコブ は 激しく 怒って， 言った． 「わたしが 神に 代われると 言うのか． お 前の 胎に 子供を 宿らせないのは 神御自身なのだ． 」
  3. ラケル は， 「わたしの 召し 使いの ビルハ がいます． 彼女のところに 入ってください． 彼女が 子供を 産み， わたしがその 子を 膝の 上に 迎えれば， 彼女によってわたしも 子供を 持つことができます 」と 言った．
  4. ラケル は ヤコブ に 召し 使い ビルハ を 側女として 與えたので， ヤコブ は 彼女のところに 入った．
  5. やがて， ビルハ は 身ごもって ヤコブ との 間に 男の 子を 産んだ．
  1. When Rachel saw that she was not bearing Jacob any children, she became jealous of her sister. So she said to Jacob, "Give me children, or I'll die!"
  2. Jacob became angry with her and said, "Am I in the place of God, who has kept you from having children?"
  3. Then she said, "Here is Bilhah, my maidservant. Sleep with her so that she can bear children for me and that through her I too can build a family."
  4. So she gave him her servant Bilhah as a wife. Jacob slept with her,
  5. and she became pregnant and bore him a son.
  1. そのとき ラケル は， 「わたしの 訴えを 神は 正しくお 裁き（ディン ）になり， わたしの 願いを 聞き 入れ 男の 子を 與えてくださった 」と 言った． そこで， 彼女はその 子を ダン と 名付けた．
  2. ラケル の 召し 使い ビルハ はまた 身ごもって， ヤコブ との 間に 二人目の 男の 子を 産んだ．
  3. そのとき ラケル は， 「姉と 死に 物狂いの 爭いをして（ニフタル ）， ついに 勝った 」と 言って， その 名を ナフタリ と 名付けた．
  4. レア も 自分に 子供ができなくなったのを 知ると， 自分の 召し 使い ジルパ を ヤコブ に 側女として 與えたので，
  5. レア の 召し 使い ジルパ は ヤコブ との 間に 男の 子を 産んだ．
  1. Then Rachel said, "God has vindicated me; he has listened to my plea and given me a son." Because of this she named him Dan.
  2. Rachel's servant Bilhah conceived again and bore Jacob a second son.
  3. Then Rachel said, "I have had a great struggle with my sister, and I have won." So she named him Naphtali.
  4. When Leah saw that she had stopped having children, she took her maidservant Zilpah and gave her to Jacob as a wife.
  5. Leah's servant Zilpah bore Jacob a son.
  1. そのとき レア は， 「なんと 幸運な（ガド ）」と 言って， その 子を ガド と 名付けた．
  2. レア の 召し 使い ジルパ は ヤコブ との 間に 二人目の 男の 子を 産んだ．
  3. そのとき レア は， 「なんと 幸せなこと（アシェル ）か． 娘たちはわたしを 幸せ 者と 言うにちがいない 」と 言って， その 子を アシェル と 名付けた．
  4. 小麥の 刈り 入れのころ， ルベン は 野原で 戀なすびを 見つけ， 母 レア のところへ 持って 來た． ラケル が レア に， 「あなたの 子供が 取って 來た 戀なすびをわたしに 分けてください 」と 言うと，
  5. レア は 言った． 「あなたは， わたしの 夫を 取っただけでは 氣が 濟まず， わたしの 息子の 戀なすびまで 取ろうとするのですか． 」「それでは， あなたの 子供の 戀なすびの 代わりに， 今夜あの 人があなたと 床を 共にするようにしましょう 」と ラケル は 答えた．
  1. Then Leah said, "What good fortune!" So she named him Gad.
  2. Leah's servant Zilpah bore Jacob a second son.
  3. Then Leah said, "How happy I am! The women will call me happy." So she named him Asher.
  4. During wheat harvest, Reuben went out into the fields and found some mandrake plants, which he brought to his mother Leah. Rachel said to Leah, "Please give me some of your son's mandrakes."
  5. But she said to her, "Wasn't it enough that you took away my husband? Will you take my son's mandrakes too?" "Very well," Rachel said, "he can sleep with you tonight in return for your son's mandrakes."
  1. 夕方になり， ヤコブ が 野原から 歸って 來ると， レア は 出迎えて 言った． 「あなたはわたしのところに 來なければなりません． わたしは， 息子の 戀なすびであなたを 雇ったのですから． 」その 夜， ヤコブ は レア と 寢た．
  2. 神が レア の 願いを 聞き 入れられたので， レア は 身ごもって ヤコブ との 間に 五人目の 男の 子を 産んだ．
  3. そのとき レア は， 「わたしが 召し 使いを 夫に 與えたので， 神はその 報酬（サカル ）をくださった 」と 言って， その 子を イサカル と 名付けた．
  4. レア はまた 身ごもって， ヤコブ との 間に 六人目の 男の 子を 産んだ．
  5. そのとき レア は， 「神がすばらしい 贈り 物をわたしにくださった． 今度こそ， 夫はわたしを 尊敬してくれる（ザバル ）でしょう． 夫のために 六人も 男の 子を 産んだのだから 」と 言って， その 子を ゼブルン と 名付けた．
  1. So when Jacob came in from the fields that evening, Leah went out to meet him. "You must sleep with me," she said. "I have hired you with my son's mandrakes." So he slept with her that night.
  2. God listened to Leah, and she became pregnant and bore Jacob a fifth son.
  3. Then Leah said, "God has rewarded me for giving my maidservant to my husband." So she named him Issachar.
  4. Leah conceived again and bore Jacob a sixth son.
  5. Then Leah said, "God has presented me with a precious gift. This time my husband will treat me with honor, because I have borne him six sons." So she named him Zebulun.
  1. その 後， レア は 女の 子を 産み， その 子を ディナ と 名付けた．
  2. しかし， 神は ラケル も 御心に 留め， 彼女の 願いを 聞き 入れその 胎を 開かれたので，
  3. ラケル は 身ごもって 男の 子を 産んだ． そのとき ラケル は， 「神がわたしの 恥をすすいでくださった 」と 言った．
  4. 彼女は， 「主がわたしにもう 一人男の 子を 加えてくださいますように（ヨセフ ）」と 願っていたので， その 子を ヨセフ と 名付けた．
  1. Some time later she gave birth to a daughter and named her Dinah.
  2. Then God remembered Rachel; he listened to her and opened her womb.
  3. She became pregnant and gave birth to a son and said, "God has taken away my disgrace."
  4. She named him Joseph, and said, "May the LORD add to me another son."
 
  라반과 야곱의 임금 계약(30:25-30:43)    
 
  1. ラケル が ヨセフ を 産んだころ， ヤコブ は ラバン に 言った． 「わたしを 獨り 立ちさせて， 生まれ 故鄕へ 歸らせてください．
  2. わたしは 今まで， 妻を 得るためにあなたのところで ¿いてきたのですから， 妻子と 共に 歸らせてください． あなたのために， わたしがどんなに 盡くしてきたか， よくご 存じのはずです． 」
  3. 「もし， お 前さえ 良ければ， もっといてほしいのだが． 實は 占いで， わたしはお 前のお 陰で， 主から 祝福をいただいていることが 分かったのだ 」と ラバン は 言い，
  4. 更に 續けて， 「お 前の 望む 報酬をはっきり 言いなさい． 必ず 支拂うから 」と 言った．
  5. ヤコブ は 言った． 「わたしがどんなにあなたのために 盡くし， 家畜の 世話をしてきたかよくご 存じのはずです．
  1. After Rachel gave birth to Joseph, Jacob said to Laban, "Send me on my way so I can go back to my own homeland.
  2. Give me my wives and children, for whom I have served you, and I will be on my way. You know how much work I've done for you."
  3. But Laban said to him, "If I have found favor in your eyes, please stay. I have learned by divination that the LORD has blessed me because of you."
  4. He added, "Name your wages, and I will pay them."
  5. Jacob said to him, "You know how I have worked for you and how your livestock has fared under my care.
  1. わたしが 來るまではわずかだった 家畜が， 今ではこんなに 多くなっています． わたしが 來てからは， 主があなたを 祝福しておられます． しかし 今のままでは， いつになったらわたしは 自分の 家を 持つことができるでしょうか． 」
  2. 「何をお 前に 支拂えばよいのか 」と ラバン が 尋ねると， ヤコブ は 答えた． 「何もくださるには 及びません． ただこういう 條件なら， もう 一度あなたの 群れを 飼い， 世話をいたしましょう．
  3. 今日， わたしはあなたの 群れを 全部見回って， その 中から， ぶちとまだらの 羊をすべてと 羊の 中で 黑みがかったものをすべて， それからまだらとぶちの 山羊を 取り 出しておきますから， それをわたしの 報酬にしてください．
  4. 明日， あなたが 來てわたしの 報酬をよく 調べれば， わたしの 正しいことは 證明されるでしょう． 山羊の 中にぶちとまだらでないものや， 羊の 中に 黑みがかっていないものがあったら， わたしが 盜んだものと 見なして 結構です． 」
  5. ラバン は 言った． 「よろしい． お 前の 言うとおりにしよう． 」
  1. The little you had before I came has increased greatly, and the LORD has blessed you wherever I have been. But now, when may I do something for my own household?"
  2. "What shall I give you?" he asked. "Don't give me anything," Jacob replied. "But if you will do this one thing for me, I will go on tending your flocks and watching over them:
  3. Let me go through all your flocks today and remove from them every speckled or spotted sheep, every dark-colored lamb and every spotted or speckled goat. They will be my wages.
  4. And my honesty will testify for me in the future, whenever you check on the wages you have paid me. Any goat in my possession that is not speckled or spotted, or any lamb that is not dark-colored, will be considered stolen."
  5. "Agreed," said Laban. "Let it be as you have said."
  1. ところが， その 日， ラバン は 縞やまだらの 雄山羊とぶちやまだらの 雌山羊全部， つまり 白いところが 混じっているもの 全部とそれに 黑みがかった 羊をみな 取り 出して 自分の 息子たちの 手に 渡し，
  2. ヤコブ が ラバン の 殘りの 群れを 飼っている 間に， 自分と ヤコブ との 間に 步いて 三日かかるほどの 距離をおいた．
  3. ヤコブ は， ポプラ と ア ― モンド と プラタナス の 木の 若枝を 取って 來て， 皮をはぎ， 枝に 白い 木肌の 縞を 作り，
  4. 家畜の 群れがやって 來たときに 群れの 目につくように， 皮をはいだ 枝を 家畜の 水飮み 場の 水槽の 中に 入れた． そして， 家畜の 群れが 水を 飮みにやって 來たとき， さかりがつくようにしたので，
  5. 家畜の 群れは， その 枝の 前で 交尾して 縞やぶちやまだらのものを 産んだ．
  1. That same day he removed all the male goats that were streaked or spotted, and all the speckled or spotted female goats (all that had white on them) and all the dark-colored lambs, and he placed them in the care of his sons.
  2. Then he put a three-day journey between himself and Jacob, while Jacob continued to tend the rest of Laban's flocks.
  3. Jacob, however, took fresh-cut branches from poplar, almond and plane trees and made white stripes on them by peeling the bark and exposing the white inner wood of the branches.
  4. Then he placed the peeled branches in all the watering troughs, so that they would be directly in front of the flocks when they came to drink. When the flocks were in heat and came to drink,
  5. they mated in front of the branches. And they bore young that were streaked or speckled or spotted.
  1. また， ヤコブ は 羊を 二手に 分けて， 一方の 群れを ラバン の 群れの 中の 縞のものと 全體が 黑みがかったものとに 向かわせた． 彼は， 自分の 群れだけにはそうしたが， ラバン の 群れにはそうしなかった．
  2. また， 丈夫な 羊が 交尾する 時期になると， ヤコブ は 皮をはいだ 枝をいつも 水ぶねの 中に 入れて 群れの 前に 置き， 枝のそばで 交尾させたが，
  3. 弱い 羊のときには 枝を 置かなかった． そこで， 弱いのは ラバン のものとなり， 丈夫なのは ヤコブ のものとなった．
  4. こうして， ヤコブ はますます 豊かになり， 多くの 家畜や 男女の 奴隷， それにらくだやろばなどを 持つようになった．
  1. Jacob set apart the young of the flock by themselves, but made the rest face the streaked and dark-colored animals that belonged to Laban. Thus he made separate flocks for himself and did not put them with Laban's animals.
  2. Whenever the stronger females were in heat, Jacob would place the branches in the troughs in front of the animals so they would mate near the branches,
  3. but if the animals were weak, he would not place them there. So the weak animals went to Laban and the strong ones to Jacob.
  4. In this way the man grew exceedingly prosperous and came to own large flocks, and maidservants and menservants, and camels and donkeys.
