룻기

  본서는 사사 시대를 배경으로 기록되었으나, 그 시대의 타락상과는 대조적으로 아름다운 이야기를 들려 주고 있다. 룻은 이방 모압 여인이었지만, 이스라엘의 왕인 다윗의 조상이 되는 영예를 누린다. 이것은 하나님의 나라에 참여하는 것이 혈연에 의한 것이 아니라, 오직 믿음으로 말미암은 순종을 통하여 결정된다는 것을 보여 준다.

  젊은 과부 룻은 시어머니 나오미를 헌신적으로 봉양하며 시어머니가 섬기는 하나님을 믿는다. 이러한 룻에게 하나님께서는 새로운 남편 보아스를 주시고 그를 통해 아들 오벳을 얻게 하심으로써 다윗의 증조모가 되게 하신다.

 

 

룻기 1:1-2:23

 유다 베들레헴을 떠나 모압에 거하던 나오미는 남편과 두 아들이 죽자 고향으로 돌아갈 것을 결심하고 두 며느리 오르바와 룻에게 친정으로 갈 것을 권했다. 그러나 룻은 나오미를 따라 베들레헴으로 갔고, 그 곳에서 이삭을 줍던 룻은 근족인 보아스의 호의를 입게 되었다.
  
  나오미의 두 자부(1:1-1:22)    
 
  1. 士師が 世を 治めていたころ， 飢鴨が 國を 襲ったので， ある 人が 妻と 二人の 息子を 連れて， ユダ の ベツレヘム から モアブ の 野に 移り 住んだ．
  2. その 人は 名を エリメレク ， 妻は ナオミ ， 二人の 息子は マフロン と キルヨン といい， ユダ の ベツレヘム 出身の エフラタ 族の 者であった． 彼らは モアブ の 野に 着き， そこに 住んだ．
  3. 夫 エリメレク は， ナオミ と 二人の 息子を 殘して 死んだ．
  4. 息子たちはその 後， モアブ の 女を 妻とした． 一人は オルパ ， もう 一人は ルツ といった． 十年ほどそこに 暮らしたが，
  5. マフロン と キルヨン の 二人も 死に， ナオミ は 夫と 二人の 息子に 先立たれ， 一人殘された．
  1. In the days when the judges ruled, there was a famine in the land, and a man from Bethlehem in Judah, together with his wife and two sons, went to live for a while in the country of Moab.
  2. The man's name was Elimelech, his wife's name Naomi, and the names of his two sons were Mahlon and Kilion. They were Ephrathites from Bethlehem, Judah. And they went to Moab and lived there.
  3. Now Elimelech, Naomi's husband, died, and she was left with her two sons.
  4. They married Moabite women, one named Orpah and the other Ruth. After they had lived there about ten years,
  5. both Mahlon and Kilion also died, and Naomi was left without her two sons and her husband.
  1. ナオミ は， モアブ の 野を 去って 國に 歸ることにし， 嫁たちも 從った． 主がその 民を 顧み， 食べ 物をお 與えになったということを 彼女は モアブ の 野で 聞いたのである．
  2. ナオミ は 住み 慣れた 場所を 後にし， 二人の 嫁もついて 行った． 故國 ユダ に 歸る 道すがら，
  3. ナオミ は 二人の 嫁に 言った． 「自分の 里に 歸りなさい． あなたたちは 死んだ 息子にもわたしにもよく 盡くしてくれた． どうか 主がそれに 報い， あなたたちに 慈しみを 垂れてくださいますように．
  4. どうか 主がそれぞれに 新しい 嫁ぎ 先を 與え， あなたたちが 安らぎを 得られますように． 」 ナオミ が 二人に 別れの 口づけをすると， 二人は 聲をあげて 泣いて，
  5. 言った． 「いいえ， 御一緖にあなたの 民のもとへ 歸ります． 」
  1. When she heard in Moab that the LORD had come to the aid of his people by providing food for them, Naomi and her daughters-in-law prepared to return home from there.
  2. With her two daughters-in-law she left the place where she had been living and set out on the road that would take them back to the land of Judah.
  3. Then Naomi said to her two daughters-in-law, "Go back, each of you, to your mother's home. May the LORD show kindness to you, as you have shown to your dead and to me.
  4. May the LORD grant that each of you will find rest in the home of another husband." Then she kissed them and they wept aloud
  5. and said to her, "We will go back with you to your people."
  1. ナオミ は 言った． 「わたしの 娘たちよ， 歸りなさい． どうしてついて 來るのですか． あなたたちの 夫になるような 子供がわたしの 胎內にまだいるとでも 思っているのですか．
  2. わたしの 娘たちよ， 歸りなさい． わたしはもう 年をとって， 再婚などできはしません． たとえ， まだ 望みがあると 考えて， 今夜にでもだれかのもとに 嫁ぎ， 子供を 産んだとしても，
  3. その 子たちが 大きくなるまであなたたちは 待つつもりですか． それまで 嫁がずに 過ごすつもりですか． わたしの 娘たちよ， それはいけません． あなたたちよりもわたしの 方がはるかにつらいのです． 主の 御手がわたしに 下されたのですから． 」
  4. 二人はまた 聲をあげて 泣いた． オルパ はやがて， しゅうとめに 別れの 口づけをしたが， ルツ はすがりついて 離れなかった．
  5. ナオミ は 言った． 「あのとおり， あなたの 相嫁は 自分の 民， 自分の 神のもとへ 歸って 行こうとしている． あなたも 後を 追って 行きなさい． 」
  1. But Naomi said, "Return home, my daughters. Why would you come with me? Am I going to have any more sons, who could become your husbands?
  2. Return home, my daughters; I am too old to have another husband. Even if I thought there was still hope for me--even if I had a husband tonight and then gave birth to sons-
  3. would you wait until they grew up? Would you remain unmarried for them? No, my daughters. It is more bitter for me than for you, because the LORD's hand has gone out against me!"
  4. At this they wept again. Then Orpah kissed her mother-in-law good-by, but Ruth clung to her.
  5. "Look," said Naomi, "your sister-in-law is going back to her people and her gods. Go back with her."
  1. ルツ は 言った． 「あなたを 見捨て， あなたに 背を 向けて 歸れなどと， そんなひどいことを 强いないでください． わたしは， あなたの 行かれる 所に 行き ／お 泊まりになる 所に 泊まります． あなたの 民はわたしの 民 ／あなたの 神はわたしの 神．
  2. あなたの 亡くなる 所でわたしも 死に ／そこに 葬られたいのです． 死んでお 別れするのならともかく， そのほかのことであなたを 離れるようなことをしたなら， 主よ， どうかわたしを 幾重にも 罰してください． 」
  3. 同行の 決意が 固いのを 見て， ナオミ は ルツ を 說き 伏せることをやめた．
  4. 二人は 旅を 續け， ついに ベツレヘム に 着いた． ベツレヘム に 着いてみると， 町中が 二人のことでどよめき， 女たちが， ナオミ さんではありませんかと 聲をかけてくると，
  5. ナオミ は 言った． 「どうか， ナオミ （快い ）などと 呼ばないで， マラ （苦い ）と 呼んでください． 全能者がわたしをひどい 目に 遭わせたのです．
  1. But Ruth replied, "Don't urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.
  2. Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the LORD deal with me, be it ever so severely, if anything but death separates you and me."
  3. When Naomi realized that Ruth was determined to go with her, she stopped urging her.
  4. So the two women went on until they came to Bethlehem. When they arrived in Bethlehem, the whole town was stirred because of them, and the women exclaimed, "Can this be Naomi?"
  5. "Don't call me Naomi, " she told them. "Call me Mara, because the Almighty has made my life very bitter.
  1. 出て 行くときは， 滿たされていたわたしを ／主はうつろにして 歸らせたのです． なぜ， 快い（ナオミ ）などと 呼ぶのですか． 主がわたしを 惱ませ ／全能者がわたしを 不幸に 落とされたのに． 」
  2. ナオミ はこうして， モアブ 生まれの 嫁 ルツ を 連れて モアブ の 野を 去り， 歸って 來た． 二人が ベツレヘム に 着いたのは， 大麥の 刈り 入れの 始まるころであった．
  1. I went away full, but the LORD has brought me back empty. Why call me Naomi? The LORD has afflicted me; the Almighty has brought misfortune upon me."
  2. So Naomi returned from Moab accompanied by Ruth the Moabitess, her daughter-in-law, arriving in Bethlehem as the barley harvest was beginning.
 
  룻과 보아스의 대면(2:1-2:23)    
 
  1. ナオミ の 夫 エリメレク の 一族には 一人の 有力な 親戚がいて， その 名を ボアズ といった．
  2. モアブ の 女 ルツ が ナオミ に， 「畑に 行ってみます． だれか 厚意を 示してくださる 方の 後ろで， 落ち 穗を 拾わせてもらいます 」と 言うと， ナオミ は， 「わたしの 娘よ， 行っておいで 」と 言った．
  3. ルツ は 出かけて 行き， 刈り 入れをする 農夫たちの 後について 畑で 落ち 穗を 拾ったが， そこはたまたま エリメレク の 一族の ボアズ が 所有する 畑地であった．
  4. ボアズ が ベツレヘム からやって 來て， 農夫たちに， 「主があなたたちと 共におられますように 」と 言うと， 彼らも， 「主があなたを 祝福してくださいますように 」と 言った．
  5. ボアズ が 農夫を 監督している 召し 使いの 一人に， そこの 若い 女は 誰の 娘かと 聞いた．
  1. Now Naomi had a relative on her husband's side, from the clan of Elimelech, a man of standing, whose name was Boaz.
  2. And Ruth the Moabitess said to Naomi, "Let me go to the fields and pick up the leftover grain behind anyone in whose eyes I find favor." Naomi said to her, "Go ahead, my daughter."
  3. So she went out and began to glean in the fields behind the harvesters. As it turned out, she found herself working in a field belonging to Boaz, who was from the clan of Elimelech.
  4. Just then Boaz arrived from Bethlehem and greeted the harvesters, "The LORD be with you!" "The LORD bless you!" they called back.
  5. Boaz asked the foreman of his harvesters, "Whose young woman is that?"
  1. 召し 使いは 答えた． 「あの 人は， モアブ の 野から ナオミ と 一緖に 戾った モアブ の 娘です．
  2. 『刈り 入れをする 人たちの 後について 麥束の 間で 落ち 穗を 拾い 集めさせてください 』と 願い 出て， 朝から 今までずっと 立ち 通しで ¿いておりましたが， 今， 小屋で 一息入れているところです． 」
  3. ボアズ は ルツ に 言った． 「わたしの 娘よ， よく 聞きなさい． よその 畑に 落ち 穗を 拾いに 行くことはない． ここから 離れることなく， わたしのところの 女たちと 一緖にここにいなさい．
  4. 刈り 入れをする 畑を 確かめておいて， 女たちについて 行きなさい． 若い 者には 邪魔をしないように 命じておこう． 喉が 渴いたら， 水がめの 所へ 行って， 若い 者がくんでおいた 水を 飮みなさい． 」
  5. ルツ は， 顔を 地につけ， ひれ 伏して 言った． 「よそ 者のわたしにこれほど 目をかけてくださるとは． 厚意を 示してくださるのは， なぜですか． 」
  1. The foreman replied, "She is the Moabitess who came back from Moab with Naomi.
  2. She said, 'Please let me glean and gather among the sheaves behind the harvesters.' She went into the field and has worked steadily from morning till now, except for a short rest in the shelter."
  3. So Boaz said to Ruth, "My daughter, listen to me. Don't go and glean in another field and don't go away from here. Stay here with my servant girls.
  4. Watch the field where the men are harvesting, and follow along after the girls. I have told the men not to touch you. And whenever you are thirsty, go and get a drink from the water jars the men have filled."
  5. At this, she bowed down with her face to the ground. She exclaimed, "Why have I found such favor in your eyes that you notice me--a foreigner?"
  1. ボアズ は 答えた． 「主人が 亡くなった 後も， しゅうとめに 盡くしたこと， 兩親と 生まれ 故鄕を 捨てて， 全く 見も 知らぬ 國に 來たことなど， 何もかも 傳え 聞いていました．
  2. どうか， 主があなたの 行いに 豊かに 報いてくださるように． イスラエル の 神， 主がその 御翼のもとに 逃れて 來たあなたに 十分に 報いてくださるように． 」
  3. ルツ は 言った． 「わたしの 主よ． どうぞこれからも 厚意を 示してくださいますように． あなたのはしための 一人にも 及ばぬこのわたしですのに， 心に 觸れる 言葉をかけていただいて， 本當に 慰められました． 」
  4. 食事のとき， ボアズ は ルツ に 聲をかけた． 「こちらに 來て， パン を 少し 食べなさい， 一切れずつ 酢に 浸して． 」 ルツ が 刈り 入れをする 農夫たちのそばに 腰を 下ろすと， ボアズ は ·り 麥をつかんで 與えた． ルツ は 食べ， 飽き 足りて 殘すほどであった．
  5. ルツ が 腰を 上げ， 再び 落ち 穗を 拾い 始めようとすると， ボアズ は 若者に 命じた． 「麥� ゥ の 間でもあの 娘には 拾わせるがよい． 止めてはならぬ．
  1. Boaz replied, "I've been told all about what you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband--how you left your father and mother and your homeland and came to live with a people you did not know before.
  2. May the LORD repay you for what you have done. May you be richly rewarded by the LORD, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge."
  3. "May I continue to find favor in your eyes, my lord," she said. "You have given me comfort and have spoken kindly to your servant--though I do not have the standing of one of your servant girls."
  4. At mealtime Boaz said to her, "Come over here. Have some bread and dip it in the wine vinegar." When she sat down with the harvesters, he offered her some roasted grain. She ate all she wanted and had some left over.
  5. As she got up to glean, Boaz gave orders to his men, "Even if she gathers among the sheaves, don't embarrass her.
  1. それだけでなく， 刈り 取った 束から 穗を 拔いて 落としておくのだ． あの 娘がそれを 拾うのをとがめてはならぬ． 」
  2. ルツ はこうして 日が 暮れるまで 畑で 落ち 穗を 拾い 集めた． 集めた 穗を 打って 取れた 大麥は 一 エファ ほどにもなった．
  3. それを 背負って 町に 歸ると， しゅうとめは 嫁が 拾い 集めてきたものに 目をみはった． ルツ は 飽き 足りて 殘した 食べ 物も 差し 出した．
  4. しゅうとめが ルツ に， 「今日は 一體どこで 落ち 穗を 拾い 集めたのですか． どこで ¿いてきたのですか． あなたに 目をかけてくださった 方に 祝福がありますように 」と 言うと， ルツ は， 誰のところで ¿いたかをしゅうとめに 報告して 言った． 「今日¿かせてくださった 方は 名を ボアズ と 言っておられました． 」
  5. ナオミ は 嫁に 言った． 「どうか， 生きている 人にも 死んだ 人にも 慈しみを 惜しまれない 主が， その 人を 祝福してくださるように． 」 ナオミ は 更に 續けた． 「その 人はわたしたちと 緣續きの 人です． わたしたちの 家を 絶やさないようにする 責任のある 人の 一人です． 」
  1. Rather, pull out some stalks for her from the bundles and leave them for her to pick up, and don't rebuke her."
  2. So Ruth gleaned in the field until evening. Then she threshed the barley she had gathered, and it amounted to about an ephah.
  3. She carried it back to town, and her mother-in-law saw how much she had gathered. Ruth also brought out and gave her what she had left over after she had eaten enough.
  4. Her mother-in-law asked her, "Where did you glean today? Where did you work? Blessed be the man who took notice of you!" Then Ruth told her mother-in-law about the one at whose place she had been working. "The name of the man I worked with today is Boaz," she said.
  5. "The LORD bless him!" Naomi said to her daughter-in-law. "He has not stopped showing his kindness to the living and the dead." She added, "That man is our close relative; he is one of our kinsman-redeemers."
  1. モアブ の 女 ルツ は 言った． 「その 方はわたしに， 『うちの 刈り 入れが 全部濟むまで， うちの 若者から 決して 離れないでいなさい 』と 言ってくださいました． 」
  2. ナオミ は 嫁 ルツ に 答えた． 「わたしの 娘よ， すばらしいことです． あそこで ¿く 女たちと 一緖に 畑に 行けるとは． よその 畑で， だれかからひどい 目に 遭わされることもないし． 」
  3. ルツ はこうして， 大麥と 小麥の 刈り 入れが 終わるまで， ボアズ のところで ¿く 女たちから 離れることなく 落ち 穗を 拾った．
  1. Then Ruth the Moabitess said, "He even said to me, 'Stay with my workers until they finish harvesting all my grain.' "
  2. Naomi said to Ruth her daughter-in-law, "It will be good for you, my daughter, to go with his girls, because in someone else's field you might be harmed."
  3. So Ruth stayed close to the servant girls of Boaz to glean until the barley and wheat harvests were finished. And she lived with her mother-in-law.
