	사무엘상 26:1-28:25 사울은 다윗을 추격하다가 오히려 다윗에게 죽을 위기를 맞았으나 다윗은 또다시 그를 살려 주었다. 사울을 두려워한 다윗은 가드 왕 아기스에게 도피하였다. 블레셋의 침략에 위급해진 사울은 엔돌의 신접한 여인을 찾아가 사무엘의 혼을 불러 올리게 하였다. 그에게 나타난 사무엘은 사울의 범죄를 지적하며 그의 몰락과 죽음을 예고했다.

	사울을 다시 살려 준 다윗(26:1-26:25)

ジフ人がギブアに來てサウルに，「砂漠の手前，ハキラの丘にダビデが隱れている」と告げた．

サウルは立ってイスラエルの精銳三千を率い，ジフの荒れ野に下って行き，ダビデをジフの荒れ野で搜した．

サウルは，砂漠の手前，道に沿ったハキラの丘に陣を敷いた．ダビデは荒れ野にとどまっていたが，サウルが彼を追って荒れ野に來たことを知り，

斥候を出して，サウルが來たことを確認した．

ダビデは立って，サウルが陣を敷いている所に近づき，サウルとサウルの軍の司令官，ネルの子アブネルが寢ている場所を見つけた．サウルは幕營の中で寢ており，兵士がその周りに宿營していた．

The Ziphites went to Saul at Gibeah and said, "Is not David hiding on the hill of Hakilah, which faces Jeshimon?"

So Saul went down to the Desert of Ziph, with his three thousand chosen men of Israel, to search there for David.

Saul made his camp beside the road on the hill of Hakilah facing Jeshimon, but David stayed in the desert. When he saw that Saul had followed him there,

he sent out scouts and learned that Saul had definitely arrived.

Then David set out and went to the place where Saul had camped. He saw where Saul and Abner son of Ner, the commander of the army, had lain down. Saul was lying inside the camp, with the army encamped around him.

ダビデは，ヘト人アヒメレクとヨアブの兄弟，ツェルヤの子アビシャイに問いかけた．「サウルの陣地に，わたしと下って行くのは誰だ．」アビシャイが，「わたしがあなたと行きましょう」と答えた．

ダビデとアビシャイは夜になって兵士に近寄った．サウルは幕營の中に橫になって眠り ¿んでおり，彼の槍はその枕もとの地面に突き刺してあった．アブネルも兵士もその周りで眠っていた．

David then asked Ahimelech the Hittite and Abishai son of Zeruiah, Joab's brother, "Who will go down into the camp with me to Saul?" "I'll go with you," said Abishai.

So David and Abishai went to the army by night, and there was Saul, lying asleep inside the camp with his spear stuck in the ground near his head. Abner and the soldiers were lying around him.

Abishai said to David, "Today God has delivered your enemy into your hands. Now let me pin him to the ground with one thrust of my spear; I won't strike him twice."

But David said to Abishai, "Don't destroy him! Who can lay a hand on the LORD's anointed and be guiltless?

As surely as the LORD lives," he said, "the LORD himself will strike him; either his time will come and he will die, or he will go into battle and perish.

主が油を注がれた方に，わたしが手をかけることを主は決してお許しにならない．今は，枕もとの槍と水差しを取って立ち去ろう．」

ダビデはサウルの枕もとから槍と水差しを取り，彼らは立ち去った．見ていた者も，氣づいた者も，目を覺ました者もなかった．主から送られた深い眠りが彼らを襲い，全員眠り ¿んでいた．

But the LORD forbid that I should lay a hand on the LORD's anointed. Now get the spear and water jug that are near his head, and let's go."

So David took the spear and water jug near Saul's head, and they left. No one saw or knew about it, nor did anyone wake up. They were all sleeping, because the LORD had put them into a deep sleep.

Then David crossed over to the other side and stood on top of the hill some distance away; there was a wide space between them.

He called out to the army and to Abner son of Ner, "Aren't you going to answer me, Abner?" Abner replied, "Who are you who calls to the king?"

David said, "You're a man, aren't you? And who is like you in Israel? Why didn't you guard your lord the king? Someone came to destroy your lord the king.

お前の行いは良くない．主は生きておられる．お前たちは死に値する．主が油を注がれた方，お前たちの主人を守れなかったからだ．さあ，枕もとの槍と水差しがどこにあるか見てみよ．」

サウルはダビデの聲と氣づいて，言った．「この聲はわが子，ダビデではないか．」ダビデは答えた．「わが主君，王よ．わたしの聲です．」

ダビデは續けた．「わが主君はなぜわたしを追跡なさるのですか．わたしが何をしたというのでしょう．わたしの手にどんな惡があるというのでしょうか．

わが主君，王よ．僕の言葉をお聞きください．もし，王がわたしに對して憤られるように仕向けられたのが主であるなら，どうか，主が獻げ物によってなだめられますように．もし，人間であるなら，主の御前に彼らが呪われますように．彼らは，『行け，他の神¿に仕えよ』と言って，この日，主がお與えくださった嗣業の地からわたしを追い拂うのです．

どうか，わたしの血が主の御前を遠く離れた地で流されませんように．まことにイスラエルの王は，山でしゃこを追うかのように，蚤一匹をねらって出陣されたのです．」

What you have done is not good. As surely as the LORD lives, you and your men deserve to die, because you did not guard your master, the LORD's anointed. Look around you. Where are the king's spear and water jug that were near his head?"

Saul recognized David's voice and said, "Is that your voice, David my son?" David replied, "Yes it is, my lord the king."

And he added, "Why is my lord pursuing his servant? What have I done, and what wrong am I guilty of?

Now let my lord the king listen to his servant's words. If the LORD has incited you against me, then may he accept an offering. If, however, men have done it, may they be cursed before the LORD! They have now driven me from my share in the LORD's inheritance and have said, 'Go, serve other gods.'

Now do not let my blood fall to the ground far from the presence of the LORD. The king of Israel has come out to look for a flea--as one hunts a partridge in the mountains."

サウルは言った．「わたしが誤っていた．わが子ダビデよ，歸って來なさい．この日わたしの命を尊んでくれたお前に，わたしは二度と危害を加えようとはしない．わたしは愚かであった．大きな過ちを犯した．」

ダビデは答えた．「王の槍はここにあります．從者を一人よこし，これを運ばせてください．

主は，おのおのに，その正しい行いと忠實さに從って報いてくださいます．今日，主はわたしの手にあなたを渡されましたが，主が油を注がれた方に手をかけることをわたしは望みませんでした．

今日，わたしがあなたの命を大切にしたように，主もわたしの命を大切にされ，あらゆる苦難からわたしを救ってくださいますように．」

サウルはダビデに言った．「わが子ダビデよ．お前に祝福があるように．お前は活躍し，また，必ず成功する．」ダビデは自分の道を行き，サウルは自分の場所に戾って行った．

Then Saul said, "I have sinned. Come back, David my son. Because you considered my life precious today, I will not try to harm you again. Surely I have acted like a fool and have erred greatly."

"Here is the king's spear," David answered. "Let one of your young men come over and get it.

The LORD rewards every man for his righteousness and faithfulness. The LORD delivered you into my hands today, but I would not lay a hand on the LORD's anointed.

As surely as I valued your life today, so may the LORD value my life and deliver me from all trouble."

Then Saul said to David, "May you be blessed, my son David; you will do great things and surely triumph." So David went on his way, and Saul returned home.

	다윗의 블레셋 망명(27:1-27:12)

ダビデは心に思った．「このままではいつかサウルの手にかかるにちがいない．ペリシテの地に逃れるほかはない．そうすればサウルは，イスラエル全域でわたしを搜すことを斷念するだろう．こうしてわたしは彼の手から逃れることができる．」

ダビデは立って，彼に從う兵六百人と共に，ガトの王，マオクの子アキシュのもとに移って行った．

ダビデとその兵はおのおのの家族と共にガトのアキシュのもとに身を寄せた．ダビデは二人の妻，イズレエルのアヒノアムとカルメルのナバルの妻であったアビガイルを連れていた．

ダビデがガトに逃げたと聞いたサウルは，二度とダビデを追跡しなかった．

ダビデはアキシュに言った．「御厚意を得られるなら，地方の町の一つに場所をください．そこに住みます．僕が王國の首都で，あなたのもとに住むことはありません．」

But David thought to himself, "One of these days I will be destroyed by the hand of Saul. The best thing I can do is to escape to the land of the Philistines. Then Saul will give up searching for me anywhere in Israel, and I will slip out of his hand."

So David and the six hundred men with him left and went over to Achish son of Maoch king of Gath.

David and his men settled in Gath with Achish. Each man had his family with him, and David had his two wives: Ahinoam of Jezreel and Abigail of Carmel, the widow of Nabal.

When Saul was told that David had fled to Gath, he no longer searched for him.

Then David said to Achish, "If I have found favor in your eyes, let a place be assigned to me in one of the country towns, that I may live there. Why should your servant live in the royal city with you?"

So on that day Achish gave him Ziklag, and it has belonged to the kings of Judah ever since.

David lived in Philistine territory a year and four months.

Now David and his men went up and raided the Geshurites, the Girzites and the Amalekites. (From ancient times these peoples had lived in the land extending to Shur and Egypt.)

Whenever David attacked an area, he did not leave a man or woman alive, but took sheep and cattle, donkeys and camels, and clothes. Then he returned to Achish.

When Achish asked, "Where did you go raiding today?" David would say, "Against the Negev of Judah" or "Against the Negev of Jerahmeel" or "Against the Negev of the Kenites."

ダビデは，男も女も生かしてガトに引いて來ることはなかった．「彼らが我¿について，『ダビデがこうした』と通報しないように」と考えたからである．ダビデがペリシテの地に住む間，これがダビデの策であった．

アキシュはダビデを信じて，「彼は自分の民イスラエルにすっかり嫌われたから，いつまでもわたしの僕でいるだろう」と思っていた．

He did not leave a man or woman alive to be brought to Gath, for he thought, "They might inform on us and say, 'This is what David did.' " And such was his practice as long as he lived in Philistine territory.

Achish trusted David and said to himself, "He has become so odious to his people, the Israelites, that he will be my servant forever."

	엔돌의 무당을 찾아간 사울(28:1-28:25)

そのころ，ペリシテ人はイスラエルと戰うために軍を集結させた．アキシュはダビデに言った．「あなたもあなたの兵もわたしと一緖に戰陣に加わることを，よく承知していてもらいたい．」

ダビデはアキシュに答えた．「それによって，僕の ¿きがお分かりになるでしょう．」アキシュはダビデに言った．「それなら，常にあなたをわたしの護衛の長としよう．」

サムエルが死んだ．全イスラエルは彼を悼み，彼の町ラマに葬った．サウルは，旣に國內から口寄せや魔術師を追放していた．

ペリシテ人は集結し，シュネムに來て陣を敷いた．サウルはイスラエルの全軍を集めてギルボアに陣を敷いた．

In those days the Philistines gathered their forces to fight against Israel. Achish said to David, "You must understand that you and your men will accompany me in the army."

David said, "Then you will see for yourself what your servant can do." Achish replied, "Very well, I will make you my bodyguard for life."

Now Samuel was dead, and all Israel had mourned for him and buried him in his own town of Ramah. Saul had expelled the mediums and spiritists from the land.

The Philistines assembled and came and set up camp at Shunem, while Saul gathered all the Israelites and set up camp at Gilboa.

When Saul saw the Philistine army, he was afraid; terror filled his heart.

サウルは主に託宣を求めたが，主は夢によっても，ウリムによっても，預言者によってもお答えにならなかった．

サウルは家臣に命令した．「口寄せのできる女を探してくれ．その女のところに行って尋ねよう．」家臣は答えた．「エン · ドルに口寄せのできる女がいます．」

サウルは變裝し，衣を替え，夜，二人の兵を連れて女のもとに現れた．サウルは賴んだ．「口寄せの術で占ってほしい．あなたに告げる人を呼び起こしてくれ．」女は言った．

He inquired of the LORD, but the LORD did not answer him by dreams or Urim or prophets.

Saul then said to his attendants, "Find me a woman who is a medium, so I may go and inquire of her." "There is one in Endor," they said.

So Saul disguised himself, putting on other clothes, and at night he and two men went to the woman. "Consult a spirit for me," he said, "and bring up for me the one I name."

But the woman said to him, "Surely you know what Saul has done. He has cut off the mediums and spiritists from the land. Why have you set a trap for my life to bring about my death?"

Saul swore to her by the LORD, "As surely as the LORD lives, you will not be punished for this."

女は尋ねた．「誰を呼び起こしましょうか．」「サムエルを呼び起こしてもらいたい」と彼は賴んだ．

その女は，サムエルを見ると，大聲で叫び，サウルに言った．「なぜわたしを欺いたのですか．あなたはサウルさまではありませんか．」

王は言った．「恐れることはない．それより，何を見たのだ．」女はサウルに言った．「神のような者が地から上って來るのが見えます．」

Then the woman asked, "Whom shall I bring up for you?" "Bring up Samuel," he said.

When the woman saw Samuel, she cried out at the top of her voice and said to Saul, "Why have you deceived me? You are Saul!"

The king said to her, "Don't be afraid. What do you see?" The woman said, "I see a spirit coming up out of the ground."

"What does he look like?" he asked. "An old man wearing a robe is coming up," she said. Then Saul knew it was Samuel, and he bowed down and prostrated himself with his face to the ground.

Samuel said to Saul, "Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up?" "I am in great distress," Saul said. "The Philistines are fighting against me, and God has turned away from me. He no longer answers me, either by prophets or by dreams. So I have called on you to tell me what to do."

サムエルは言った．「なぜわたしに尋ねるのか．主があなたを離れ去り，敵となられたのだ．

主は，わたしを通して告げられた事を實行される．あなたの手から王國を引き裂き，あなたの隣人，ダビデにお與えになる．

あなたは主の聲を聞かず，アマレク人に對する主の憤りの業を遂行しなかったので，主はこの日，あなたに對してこのようにされるのだ．

主はあなたのみならず，イスラエルをもペリシテ人の手に渡される．明日，あなたとあなたの子らはわたしと共にいる．主はイスラエルの軍隊を，ペリシテ人の手に渡される．」

サウルはたちまち地面に倒れ伏してしまった．サムエルの言葉におびえたからである．また彼はこの日，何も食べていなかったため，力が盡きていたのである．

Samuel said, "Why do you consult me, now that the LORD has turned away from you and become your enemy?

The LORD has done what he predicted through me. The LORD has torn the kingdom out of your hands and given it to one of your neighbors--to David.

Because you did not obey the LORD or carry out his fierce wrath against the Amalekites, the LORD has done this to you today.

The LORD will hand over both Israel and you to the Philistines, and tomorrow you and your sons will be with me. The LORD will also hand over the army of Israel to the Philistines."

Immediately Saul fell full length on the ground, filled with fear because of Samuel's words. His strength was gone, for he had eaten nothing all that day and night.

その女はサウルに近づき，サウルがおびえきっているのを見て，言った．「はしためはあなたの聲に聞き從いました．命をかけて，あなたが言った言葉に聞き從ったのです．

今度は，あなたがはしための聲に聞き從ってください．ささやかな食事をあなたに差し上げますから，それを召し上がり，力をつけてお歸りください．」

サウルは拒み，食べたくないと言った．しかし，家臣もその女も强く勸めたので，彼らの勸めに從い，地面から起き上がって，床の上に座った．

女の家には肥えた子牛がいたので急いで屠り，小麥粉を取ってこね，種なしパンを燒いた．

女が，サウルと家臣にそれを差し出すと，彼らは食べて，その夜のうちに立ち去った．

When the woman came to Saul and saw that he was greatly shaken, she said, "Look, your maidservant has obeyed you. I took my life in my hands and did what you told me to do.

Now please listen to your servant and let me give you some food so you may eat and have the strength to go on your way."

He refused and said, "I will not eat." But his men joined the woman in urging him, and he listened to them. He got up from the ground and sat on the couch.

The woman had a fattened calf at the house, which she butchered at once. She took some flour, kneaded it and baked bread without yeast.

Then she set it before Saul and his men, and they ate. That same night they got up and left.
