열왕기하 10:18-12:21

 예후는 정치적 숙청에 이어 바알 숭배자들을 몰살하는 종교 개혁을 단행하였다. 한편 남유다에서는 아하시야가 살해되자 아달랴가 왕위 찬탈 음모를 펼쳐 갔다. 그러나 이러한 와중에서 구사 일생으로 목숨을 건진 요아스는 여호야다의 도움으로 왕위를 회복하여 바알 숭배를 척결하고 성전을 수리하는 등 선정을 해나갔다. 그러나 그는 말년에 하사엘의 침입시 성전 보물을 조공으로 바치는 불신앙적 모습을 보임으로써 신하들의 칼에 맞아 죽는 심판을 받았다.
  
  예후의 종교 개혁(10:18-10:36)    
 
  1. イエフ はすべての 民を 集めて 言った． 「アハブ は 少ししか バアル に 仕えなかったが， この イエフ は 大いに バアル に 仕えるつもりだ．
  2. 今 バアル のすべての 預言者， バアル に 仕えるすべての 者， すべての 祭司をわたしのもとに 呼べ． 一人も 欠席させてはならない． わたしが バアル に 大いなるいけにえをささげるからだ． 欠席する 者はだれも 生かしてはおかない． 」 イエフ は バアル に 仕える 者を 絶やすために， 策略を 用いたのである．
  3. イエフ が， 「バアル のために 聖なる 集まりを 催せ 」と 命じたので， 彼らはそれを 布告した．
  4. イエフ が イスラエル 中に 使者を 遣わすと， バアル に 仕える 者が 皆集まって 來た． 來ない 者は 一人もなかった． 彼らは バアル の 神殿に 入り， 神殿は 隅¿まで 滿ちた．
  5. イエフ は 衣裝係に， 「バアル に 仕えるすべての 者に 祭服を 出してやれ 」と 言った． 彼らは 祭服を 出した．
  1. Then Jehu brought all the people together and said to them, "Ahab served Baal a little; Jehu will serve him much.
  2. Now summon all the prophets of Baal, all his ministers and all his priests. See that no one is missing, because I am going to hold a great sacrifice for Baal. Anyone who fails to come will no longer live." But Jehu was acting deceptively in order to destroy the ministers of Baal.
  3. Jehu said, "Call an assembly in honor of Baal." So they proclaimed it.
  4. Then he sent word throughout Israel, and all the ministers of Baal came; not one stayed away. They crowded into the temple of Baal until it was full from one end to the other.
  5. And Jehu said to the keeper of the wardrobe, "Bring robes for all the ministers of Baal." So he brought out robes for them.
  1. そこで イエフ は レカブ 人 ヨナダブ と 共に バアル の 神殿に 入り， バアル に 仕える 者たちに 言った． 「主に 仕える 者があなたたちと 一緖にいることがないよう， ただ バアル に 仕える 者だけがいるように， よく 調べて 見よ． 」
  2. 二人はいけにえと 燒き 盡くす 獻げ 物をささげるために 入ったが， イエフ は 外に 八十人の 人を 置き， 次のように 言った． 「わたしがお 前たちの 手に 渡す 者を 逃がした 者は， 自分の 命をその 逃がした 者の 命に 代えなければならない． 」
  3. 燒き 盡くす 獻げ 物をささげ 終わったとき， イエフ は 近衛兵と 侍從たちに 言った． 「入って， 彼らを 討て． 一人も 外に 出すな． 」近衛兵と 侍從たちは 彼らを 劍にかけて 殺し， そこに 投げ 捨て， 更に バアル の 神殿の 奧まで 踏み ¿み，
  4. バアル の 神殿にある 石柱を 運び 出して 燒き 捨てた．
  5. バアル の 石柱を 破壞してから， バアル の 神殿を 破壞し， これを 便所にした． それは 今日に 至るまでそうなっている．
  1. Then Jehu and Jehonadab son of Recab went into the temple of Baal. Jehu said to the ministers of Baal, "Look around and see that no servants of the LORD are here with you--only ministers of Baal."
  2. So they went in to make sacrifices and burnt offerings. Now Jehu had posted eighty men outside with this warning: "If one of you lets any of the men I am placing in your hands escape, it will be your life for his life."
  3. As soon as Jehu had finished making the burnt offering, he ordered the guards and officers: "Go in and kill them; let no one escape." So they cut them down with the sword. The guards and officers threw the bodies out and then entered the inner shrine of the temple of Baal.
  4. They brought the sacred stone out of the temple of Baal and burned it.
  5. They demolished the sacred stone of Baal and tore down the temple of Baal, and people have used it for a latrine to this day.
  1. このようにして， イエフ は イスラエル から バアル を 滅ぼし 去った．
  2. ただ， イスラエル に 罪を 犯させた ネバト の 子 ヤロブアム の 罪からは 離れず， ベテル と ダン にある 金の 子牛を 退けなかった．
  3. 主は イエフ に 言われた． 「あなたはわたしの 目にかなう 正しいことをよく 成し 遂げ， わたしの 心にあった 事をことごとく アハブ の 家に 對して 行った． それゆえあなたの 子孫は 四代にわたって イスラエル の 王座につく． 」
  4. しかし イエフ は， 心を 盡くして イスラエル の 神， 主の 律法に 從って 步もうと 努めず， イスラエル に 罪を 犯させた ヤロブアム の 罪を 離れなかった．
  5. このころから， 主は イスラエル を 衰退に 向かわせられた． ハザエル が イスラエル をその 領土の 至るところで 侵略したのである．
  1. So Jehu destroyed Baal worship in Israel.
  2. However, he did not turn away from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, which he had caused Israel to commit--the worship of the golden calves at Bethel and Dan.
  3. The LORD said to Jehu, "Because you have done well in accomplishing what is right in my eyes and have done to the house of Ahab all I had in mind to do, your descendants will sit on the throne of Israel to the fourth generation."
  4. Yet Jehu was not careful to keep the law of the LORD, the God of Israel, with all his heart. He did not turn away from the sins of Jeroboam, which he had caused Israel to commit.
  5. In those days the LORD began to reduce the size of Israel. Hazael overpowered the Israelites throughout their territory

  2. As for the other events of Jehu's reign, all he did, and all his achievements, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Israel?
  3. Jehu rested with his fathers and was buried in Samaria. And Jehoahaz his son succeeded him as king.
  4. The time that Jehu reigned over Israel in Samaria was twenty-eight years.
 
  아달랴의 섭정(11:1-11:21)    
 
  1. アハズヤ の 母 アタルヤ は 息子が 死んだのを 見て， 直ちに 王族をすべて 滅ぼそうとした．
  2. しかし， ヨラム 王の 娘で， アハズヤ の 姉妹である ヨシェバ が， アハズヤ の 子 ヨアシュ を 抱き， 殺されようとしている 王子たちの 中からひそかに 連れ 出し， 乳母と 共に 寢具の 部屋に 入れておいた． 人¿は ヨアシュ を アタルヤ からかくまい， 彼は 殺されずに 濟んだ．
  3. こうして， アタルヤ が 國を 支配していた 六年の 間， ヨアシュ は 乳母と 共に 主の 神殿に 隱れていた．

  1. When Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she proceeded to destroy the whole royal family.
  2. But Jehosheba, the daughter of King Jehoram and sister of Ahaziah, took Joash son of Ahaziah and stole him away from among the royal princes, who were about to be murdered. She put him and his nurse in a bedroom to hide him from Athaliah; so he was not killed.
  3. He remained hidden with his nurse at the temple of the LORD for six years while Athaliah ruled the land.
  4. In the seventh year Jehoiada sent for the commanders of units of a hundred, the Carites and the guards and had them brought to him at the temple of the LORD. He made a covenant with them and put them under oath at the temple of the LORD. Then he showed them the king's son.
  5. He commanded them, saying, "This is what you are to do: You who are in the three companies that are going on duty on the Sabbath--a third of you guarding the royal palace,
  1. ほかの 三分の 一は スル の 門に 詰め， 殘る 三分の 一は 近衛兵の 背後の 門に 詰め， こうしてあなたたちは 交代で 王宮の 警備に 當たれ．
  2. 安息日が 非番に 當たるほかの 二組は 主の 神殿で 王のそばにいて 警備に 當たれ．
  3. おのおの 武器を 手にして， 王の 周圍を 固めなければならない． 隊列を 侵す 者は 殺されなければならない． 王が 出るときも， 入るときも， 王と 行動を 共にせよ． 」
  4. 百人隊の 長たちは， すべて 祭司 ヨヤダ が 命じたとおり 行い， おのおの 安息日が 出番に 當たる 部下と 非番に 當たる 部下を 引き 連れ， 祭司 ヨヤダ のもとに 來た．

  1. a third at the Sur Gate, and a third at the gate behind the guard, who take turns guarding the temple-
  2. and you who are in the other two companies that normally go off Sabbath duty are all to guard the temple for the king.
  3. Station yourselves around the king, each man with his weapon in his hand. Anyone who approaches your ranks must be put to death. Stay close to the king wherever he goes."
  4. The commanders of units of a hundred did just as Jehoiada the priest ordered. Each one took his men--those who were going on duty on the Sabbath and those who were going off duty--and came to Jehoiada the priest.
  5. Then he gave the commanders the spears and shields that had belonged to King David and that were in the temple of the LORD.
  1. 近衛兵たちはおのおの 武器を 手にして， 祭壇と 神殿を 中心に 神殿の 南の 端から 北の 端まで 王の 周圍を 固めた．
  2. そこで ヨヤダ が 王子を 連れて 現れ， 彼に 冠をかぶらせ， ¿の 書を 渡した． 人¿はこの 王子を 王とし， 油を 注ぎ， 拍手して， 「王万歲 」と 叫んだ．

  1. The guards, each with his weapon in his hand, stationed themselves around the king--near the altar and the temple, from the south side to the north side of the temple.
  2. Jehoiada brought out the king's son and put the crown on him; he presented him with a copy of the covenant and proclaimed him king. They anointed him, and the people clapped their hands and shouted, "Long live the king!"
  3. When Athaliah heard the noise made by the guards and the people, she went to the people at the temple of the LORD.
  4. She looked and there was the king, standing by the pillar, as the custom was. The officers and the trumpeters were beside the king, and all the people of the land were rejoicing and blowing trumpets. Then Athaliah tore her robes and called out, "Treason! Treason!"
  5. Jehoiada the priest ordered the commanders of units of a hundred, who were in charge of the troops: "Bring her out between the ranks and put to the sword anyone who follows her." For the priest had said, "She must not be put to death in the temple of the LORD."
  1. 彼らは アタルヤ を 捕らえ， 馬の 出入り 口を 通って 王宮に 連れて 行った． 彼女はそこで 殺された．
  2. ヨヤダ は， 主と 王と 民の 間に， 主の 民となる 契約を 結び， 王と 民の 間でも 契約を 結んだ．

  1. So they seized her as she reached the place where the horses enter the palace grounds, and there she was put to death.
  2. Jehoiada then made a covenant between the LORD and the king and people that they would be the LORD's people. He also made a covenant between the king and the people.
  3. All the people of the land went to the temple of Baal and tore it down. They smashed the altars and idols to pieces and killed Mattan the priest of Baal in front of the altars. Then Jehoiada the priest posted guards at the temple of the LORD.
  4. He took with him the commanders of hundreds, the Carites, the guards and all the people of the land, and together they brought the king down from the temple of the LORD and went into the palace, entering by way of the gate of the guards. The king then took his place on the royal throne,
  5. and all the people of the land rejoiced. And the city was quiet, because Athaliah had been slain with the sword at the palace.
  1. Joash was seven years old when he began to reign.
 
  요아스의 유다 통치(12:1-12:21)    
 
  1. ヨアシュ は 王位についたとき， 七歲であった．
  2. イエフ の 治世第七年に ヨアシュ は 王となり， 四十年間 エルサレム で 王位にあった． その 母は 名を ツィブヤ といい， ベエル · シェバ の 出身であった．
  3. ヨアシュ は， 祭司 ヨヤダ の 敎えを 受けて， その 生涯を 通じて 主の 目にかなう 正しいことを 行った．
  4. ただ 聖なる 高台は 取り 除かれず， 民は 依然として 聖なる 高台でいけにえを 屠り， 香をたいた．
  5. ヨアシュ は 祭司たちに 言った． 「主の 神殿にもたらされるすべての 聖なる 獻金， すなわち， 各人がその 割り 當てに 從って 課された 獻金， 主の 神殿に 自發的にもたらされるすべての 獻金は，
  1. In the seventh year of Jehu, Joash became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem forty years. His mother's name was Zibiah; she was from Beersheba.
  2. Joash did what was right in the eyes of the LORD all the years Jehoiada the priest instructed him.
  3. The high places, however, were not removed; the people continued to offer sacrifices and burn incense there.
  4. Joash said to the priests, "Collect all the money that is brought as sacred offerings to the temple of the LORD -the money collected in the census, the money received from personal vows and the money brought voluntarily to the temple.
  5. Let every priest receive the money from one of the treasurers, and let it be used to repair whatever damage is found in the temple."
  1. 祭司たちがおのおの 自分の 擔當の 者から 受け 取り， 神殿のどこかに 破損が 生じたときには， それを 用いてその 破損を 修理しなければならない． 」
  2. だが， ヨアシュ 王の 治世第二十三年になっても， なお 祭司たちは 神殿の 破損を 修理しなかったので，
  3. ヨアシュ 王は 祭司 ヨヤダ およびほかの 祭司たちを 呼んで 言った． 「なぜ 神殿の 破損を 修理しないのか． 以後あなたたちはあなたたちの 擔當の 者から 獻金を 受け 取ってはならない． それは 神殿の 破損を 修理するために 使われるべきものだからだ． 」
  4. 祭司たちは 民から 獻金を 受け 取らず， 從って 神殿の 破損を 修理する 責任を 負わないことに 同意した．
  5. 祭司 ヨヤダ は 一つの 箱を 持って 來て， その 蓋に 穴をあけ， 主の 神殿の 入り 口の 右側， 祭壇の 傍らにそれを 置いた． 入り 口を 守る 祭司たちは， 主の 神殿にもたらされるすべての 獻金をそこに 入れた．
  1. But by the twenty-third year of King Joash the priests still had not repaired the temple.
  2. Therefore King Joash summoned Jehoiada the priest and the other priests and asked them, "Why aren't you repairing the damage done to the temple? Take no more money from your treasurers, but hand it over for repairing the temple."
  3. The priests agreed that they would not collect any more money from the people and that they would not repair the temple themselves.
  4. Jehoiada the priest took a chest and bored a hole in its lid. He placed it beside the altar, on the right side as one enters the temple of the LORD. The priests who guarded the entrance put into the chest all the money that was brought to the temple of the LORD.
  5. Whenever they saw that there was a large amount of money in the chest, the royal secretary and the high priest came, counted the money that had been brought into the temple of the LORD and put it into bags.
  1. 箱の 中に 獻金がたまったのが 認められると， 王の 書記官と 大祭司が 上って 來て， 主の 神殿にあるその 獻金を 袋に 入れて 數えた．
  2. こうして 確かめられた 獻金は， 主の 神殿の 役人である 工事擔當者に 渡され， 主の 神殿で ¿く 大工， 建築勞¿者，
  3. 石工， 採石勞¿者たちに 支拂われ， また 神殿の 破損を 修理するための 木材や 切り 石の 買い 入れに 用いられた． すなわち， それは 神殿を 修理するためのあらゆる 出費に 當てられた．
  4. しかし， 神殿用の 銀の 皿， 芯切り 員， 鉢， ラッパ など， 金の 器と 銀の 器はいずれも， この 神殿への 獻金では 製作されなかった．
  5. その 獻金は 工事擔當者に 渡され， 主の 神殿の 修理のために 用いられた．
  1. When the amount had been determined, they gave the money to the men appointed to supervise the work on the temple. With it they paid those who worked on the temple of the LORD -the carpenters and builders,
  2. the masons and stonecutters. They purchased timber and dressed stone for the repair of the temple of the LORD, and met all the other expenses of restoring the temple.
  3. The money brought into the temple was not spent for making silver basins, wick trimmers, sprinkling bowls, trumpets or any other articles of gold or silver for the temple of the LORD;
  4. it was paid to the workmen, who used it to repair the temple.
  5. They did not require an accounting from those to whom they gave the money to pay the workers, because they acted with complete honesty.
  1. 工事擔當者に 與えるように 獻金を 渡された 人¿は 忠實に 仕事をする 者であったので， 會計監査を 受けることはなかった．
  2. 賠償の 獻げ 物のための 獻金， ·罪の 獻げ 物のための 獻金は， 主の 神殿に 納入されず， 祭司たちのものとなった．
  3. そのころ， アラム の 王 ハザエル が 上って 來て ガト を 攻略し， 更に エルサレム に 向かって 攻め 上って 來た．
  4. ユダ の 王 ヨアシュ は， 先祖である ユダ の 王 ヨシャファト ， ヨラム ， アハズヤ が 聖別したすべての 聖なる 物， 自分自身が 聖別した 物， および 主の 神殿の 寶物庫と 王宮にあるすべての 金を 取り 出し， アラム の 王 ハザエル に 送ったので， ハザエル は エルサレム を 離れて 行った．
  5. ヨアシュ の 他の 事績， 彼の 行ったすべての 事は， 『ユダ の 王の 歷代誌 』に 記されている．
  1. The money from the guilt offerings and sin offerings was not brought into the temple of the LORD; it belonged to the priests.
  2. About this time Hazael king of Aram went up and attacked Gath and captured it. Then he turned to attack Jerusalem.
  3. But Joash king of Judah took all the sacred objects dedicated by his fathers--Jehoshaphat, Jehoram and Ahaziah, the kings of Judah--and the gifts he himself had dedicated and all the gold found in the treasuries of the temple of the LORD and of the royal palace, and he sent them to Hazael king of Aram, who then withdrew from Jerusalem.
  4. As for the other events of the reign of Joash, and all he did, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Judah?
  5. His officials conspired against him and assassinated him at Beth Millo, on the road down to Silla.
  1. その 家臣たちは 立ち 上がって 謀反を 起こし， シラ に 下って 行く ヨアシュ を ベト · ミロ で 打ち 殺した．
  1. The officials who murdered him were Jozabad son of Shimeath and Jehozabad son of Shomer. He died and was buried with his fathers in the City of David. And Amaziah his son succeeded him as king.
