- わたしは， 自ら 聖別した 者らに 命じ ／わたしの 勇士， 勝ち 誇る 兵士らを 招いて ／わたしの 怒りを 行わせる．
- 山¿にどよめく 音がする ／多くの 民の 集う 物音が． もろもろの 國が ¿ぎ 立ち ／諸國の 民の 集められる 音がする． 万軍の 主が， 軍勢を 召集される．
- 彼らは 遠くの 地から 來る ／地平線のかなたから． 主とその 怒りの 道具として ／この 國を 滅ぼし 盡くすために．

- An oracle concerning Babylon that Isaiah son of Amoz saw:
- Raise a banner on a bare hilltop, shout to them; beckon to them to enter the gates of the nobles.
- I have commanded my holy ones; I have summoned my warriors to carry out my wrath-- those who rejoice in my triumph.
- Listen, a noise on the mountains, like that of a great multitude! Listen, an uproar among the kingdoms, like nations massing together! The LORD Almighty is mustering an army for war.
- They come from faraway lands, from the ends of the heavens-- the LORD and the weapons of his wrath-- to destroy the whole country.

- 泣き 叫べ， 主の 日が 近づく． 全能者が 破壞する 者を 送られる．
- それゆえ， すべての 手は 弱くなり ／人は 皆， 勇氣を 失い，
- 恐れる． 彼らは 痛みと 苦しみに 捕らえられ ／産婦のようにもだえ ／驚きのあまり， 顔を 見合わせ ／その 顔は 炎のようになる．
- 見よ， 主の 日が 來る ／殘忍な， 怒りと 憤りの 日が． 大地を 荒廢させ ／そこから 罪人を 絶つために．
- 天のもろもろの 星とその 星座は 光を 放たず ／太陽は 昇っても 闇に 閉ざされ ／月も 光を 輝かさない．

- Wail, for the day of the LORD is near; it will come like destruction from the Almighty.
- Because of this, all hands will go limp, every man's heart will melt.
- Terror will seize them, pain and anguish will grip them; they will writhe like a woman in labor. They will look aghast at each other, their faces aflame.
- See, the day of the LORD is coming --a cruel day, with wrath and fierce anger-- to make the land desolate and destroy the sinners within it.
- The stars of heaven and their constellations will not show their light. The rising sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light.

- わたしは， 世界をその 惡のゆえに ／逆らう 者をその 罪のゆえに 罰する． また， 傲慢な 者の 梶りを ¿き ／橫暴な 者の 高ぶりを 挫く．
- わたしは， 人を 純金よりもまれなものとし ／ オフィル の 黃金よりも 得難いものとする．
- わたしは 天を 震わせる． 大地はその 基から ¿れる． 万軍の 主の 怒りのゆえに ／その 憤りの 日に．
- 追われるかもしかのように ／集める 者のない 羊のようになって ／人は 身を 飜して 自分の 民に 向かい ／自分の 國へ 逃げて 行く．
- 見つけ 出された 者は 皆， 刺し 殺され ／捕らえられた 者は 皆， 劍に 倒れる．

- I will punish the world for its evil, the wicked for their sins. I will put an end to the arrogance of the haughty and will humble the pride of the ruthless.
- I will make man scarcer than pure gold, more rare than the gold of Ophir.
- Therefore I will make the heavens tremble; and the earth will shake from its place at the wrath of the LORD Almighty, in the day of his burning anger.
- Like a hunted gazelle, like sheep without a shepherd, each will return to his own people, each will flee to his native land.
- Whoever is captured will be thrust through; all who are caught will fall by the sword.

- 幼子たちは 彼らの 目の 前で 打ち ¿かれ ／どの 家も 强奪され， 女たちは 辱められる．
- 見よ， 彼らに 對して ／わたしは メディア 人を 奮い 立たせる． 彼らは 銀に 目もくれず ／金を 欲しがることもない．
- 彼らの 弓は 若者たちを 打ち ¿き ／胎內の 子さえ 憐れまず ／子供らにも 情けの 目を 向けない．
- バビロン は 國¿の 中で 最も 麗しく ／ カルデア 人の 誇りであり 榮光であったが ／神が ソドム と ゴモラ を ／覆されたときのようになる．
- もはや， だれもそこに 宿ることはなく ／代¿にわたってだれも 住むことはない． アラブ 人さえ， そこには 天幕を 張らず ／羊飼いも， 群れを 休ませない．

- Their infants will be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses will be looted and their wives ravished.
- See, I will stir up against them the Medes, who do not care for silver and have no delight in gold.
- Their bows will strike down the young men; they will have no mercy on infants nor will they look with compassion on children.
- Babylon, the jewel of kingdoms, the glory of the Babylonians' pride, will be overthrown by God like Sodom and Gomorrah.
- She will never be inhabited or lived in through all generations; no Arab will pitch his tent there, no shepherd will rest his flocks there.

- かえって， ハイエナ がそこに 伏し ／家¿にはみみずくが 群がり ／喚鳥が 住み， 山羊の 魔神が 踊る．
- 立ち ¿ぶ 館の 中で， 山犬が ／華やかだった 宮殿で， ジャッカル がほえる． 今や， 都に 終わりの 時が 迫る． その 日が 遲れることは 決してない．

- But desert creatures will lie there, jackals will fill her houses; there the owls will dwell, and there the wild goats will leap about.
- Hyenas will howl in her strongholds, jackals in her luxurious palaces. Her time is at hand, and her days will not be prolonged.
