- 以下は， あなたが 彼らに 示すべき 法である．
- あなたが ヘブライ 人である 奴隷を 買うならば， 彼は 六年間奴隷として ¿かねばならないが， 七年目には 無償で 自由の 身となることができる．
- もし， 彼が 獨身で 來た 場合は， 獨身で 去らねばならない． もし， 彼が 妻帶者であった 場合は， その 妻も 共に 去ることができる．
- もし， 主人が 彼に 妻を 與えて， その 妻が 彼との 間に 息子あるいは 娘を 産んだ 場合は， その 妻と 子供は 主人に 屬し， 彼は 獨身で 去らねばならない．
- もし， その 奴隷が， 「わたしは 主人と 妻子とを 愛しており， 自由の 身になる 意志はありません 」と 明言する 場合は，

- Now these are the judgments which thou shalt set before them.
- If thou buy an Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing.
- If he came in by himself, he shall go out by himself: if he were married, then his wife shall go out with him.
- If his master have given him a wife, and she have born him sons or daughters; the wife and her children shall be her master's, and he shall go out by himself.
- And if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free:

- 主人は 彼を 神のもとに 連れて 行く． 入り 口もしくは 入り 口の 柱のところに 連れて 行き， 彼の 耳を 錐で 刺し 通すならば， 彼を 生涯， 奴隷とすることができる．
- 人が 自分の 娘を 女奴隷として 賣るならば， 彼女は， 男奴隷が 去るときと 同じように 去ることはできない．
- もし， 主人が 彼女を 一度自分のものと 定めながら， 氣に 入らなくなった 場合は， 彼女が 買い 戾されることを 許さねばならない． 彼は 彼女を 裏切ったのだから， 外國人に 賣る 權利はない．
- もし， 彼女を 自分の 息子のものと 定めた 場合は， 自分の 娘と 同じように 扱わなければならない．
- もし， 彼が 別の 女をめとった 場合も， 彼女から 食事， 衣服， 夫婦の 交わりを 減らしてはならない．

- Then his master shall bring him unto the judges; he shall also bring him to the door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an aul; and he shall serve him for ever.
- And if a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the menservants do.
- If she please not her master, who hath betrothed her to himself, then shall he let her be redeemed: to sell her unto a strange nation he shall have no power, seeing he hath dealt deceitfully with her.
- And if he have betrothed her unto his son, he shall deal with her after the manner of daughters.
- If he take him another wife; her food, her raiment, and her duty of marriage, shall he not diminish.

- もし， 彼がこの 三つの 事柄を 實行しない 場合は， 彼女は 金を 支拂わずに 無償で 去ることができる．
- 人を 打って 死なせた 者は 必ず 死刑に 處せられる．
- ただし， 故意にではなく， 偶然， 彼の 手に 神が 渡された 場合は， わたしはあなたのために 一つの 場所を 定める． 彼はそこに 逃れることができる．
- しかし， 人が 故意に 隣人を 殺そうとして 暴力を 振るうならば， あなたは 彼をわたしの 祭壇のもとからでも 連れ 出して， 處刑することができる．
- 自分の 父あるいは 母を 打つ 者は， 必ず 死刑に 處せられる．

- And if he do not these three unto her, then shall she go out free without money.
- He that smiteth a man, so that he die, shall be surely put to death.
- And if a man lie not in wait, but God deliver him into his hand; then I will appoint thee a place whither he shall flee.
- But if a man come presumptuously upon his neighbour, to slay him with guile; thou shalt take him from mine altar, that he may die.
- And he that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death.

- 人を 誘拐する 者は， 彼を 賣った 場合も， 自分の 手もとに 置いていた 場合も， 必ず 死刑に 處せられる．
- 自分の 父あるいは 母を 呪う 者は， 必ず 死刑に 處せられる．
- 人¿が 爭って， 一人が 他の 一人を 石， もしくはこぶしで 打った 場合は， 彼が 死なないで， 床に 伏しても，
- もし， 回復して， 杖を 賴りに 外を 步き 回ることができるようになるならば， 彼を 打った 者は 罰を 免れる． ただし， 仕事を 休んだ 分を 補償し， 完全に 治療させねばならない．
- 人が 自分の 男奴隷あるいは 女奴隷を 棒で 打ち， その 場で 死なせた 場合は， 必ず 罰せられる．

- And he that stealeth a man, and selleth him, or if he be found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death.
- And he that curseth his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death.
- And if men strive together, and one smite another with a stone, or with his fist, and he die not, but keepeth his bed:
- If he rise again, and walk abroad upon his staff, then shall he that smote him be quit: only he shall pay for the loss of his time, and shall cause him to be thoroughly healed.
- And if a man smite his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he shall be surely punished.

- ただし， 一兩日でも 生きていた 場合は， 罰せられない． それは 自分の 財産だからである．
- 人¿がけんかをして， 妊娠している 女を 打ち， 流産させた 場合は， もしその 他の 損傷がなくても， その 女の 主人が 要求する 賠償を 支拂わねばならない． 仲裁者の 裁定に 從ってそれを 支拂わねばならない．
- もし， その 他の 損傷があるならば， 命には 命，
- 目には 目， 齒には 齒， 手には 手， 足には 足，
- やけどにはやけど， 生傷には 生傷， 打ち 傷には 打ち 傷をもって 償わねばならない．

- Notwithstanding, if he continue a day or two, he shall not be punished: for he is his money.
- If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine.
- And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life,
- Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,
- Burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.

- 人が 自分の 男奴隷あるいは 女奴隷の 目を 打って， 目がつぶれた 場合， その 目の 償いとして， その 者を 自由にして 去らせねばならない．
- もし， 自分の 男奴隷あるいは 女奴隷の 齒を 折った 場合， その 齒の 償いとして， その 者を 自由に 去らせねばならない．
- 牛が 男あるいは 女を 突いて 死なせた 場合， その 牛は 必ず 石で 打ち 殺されねばならない． また， その 肉は 食べてはならない． しかし， その 牛の 所有者に 罪はない．
- ただし， もし， その 牛に 以前から 突く 癖があり， 所有者に 警告がなされていたのに， 彼がその 警告を 守らず， 男あるいは 女を 死なせた 場合は， 牛は 石で 打ち 殺され， 所有者もまた 死刑に 處せられる．
- もし， 賠償金が 要求された 場合には， 自分の 命の 代償として， 要求されたとおりに 支拂わねばならない．

- And if a man smite the eye of his servant, or the eye of his maid, that it perish; he shall let him go free for his eye's sake.
- And if he smite out his manservant's tooth, or his maidservant's tooth; he shall let him go free for his tooth's sake.
- If an ox gore a man or a woman, that they die: then the ox shall be surely stoned, and his flesh shall not be eaten; but the owner of the ox shall be quit.
- But if the ox were wont to push with his horn in time past, and it hath been testified to his owner, and he hath not kept him in, but that he hath killed a man or a woman; the ox shall be stoned, and his owner also shall be put to death.
- If there be laid on him a sum of money, then he shall give for the ransom of his life whatsoever is laid upon him.

- 男の 子あるいは 女の 子を 突いた 場合も， この 規定に 準じて 處理されねばならない．
- もし， 牛が 男奴隷あるいは 女奴隷を 突いた 場合は， 銀三十 シェケル をその 主人に 支拂い， その 牛は 石で 打ち 殺されねばならない．
- 人が 水溜めをあけたままにしておくか， 水溜めを 掘って， それに 蓋をしないでおいたため， そこに 牛あるいはろばが 落ちた 場合，
- その 水溜めの 所有者はそれを 償い， 牛あるいはろばの 所有者に 銀を 支拂う． ただし， 死んだ 家畜は 彼のものとなる．
- ある 人の 牛が 隣人の 牛を 突いて 死なせた 場合， 生きている 方の 牛を 賣って， その 代金を 折半し， 死んだ 方の 牛も 折半する．

- Whether he have gored a son, or have gored a daughter, according to this judgment shall it be done unto him.
- If the ox shall push a manservant or a maidservant; he shall give unto their master thirty shekels of silver, and the ox shall be stoned.
- And if a man shall open a pit, or if a man shall dig a pit, and not cover it, and an ox or an ass fall therein;
- The owner of the pit shall make it good, and give money unto the owner of them; and the dead beast shall be his.
- And if one man's ox hurt another's, that he die; then they shall sell the live ox, and divide the money of it; and the dead ox also they shall divide.

- しかし， 牛に 以前から 突く 癖のあることが 分かっていながら， 所有者が 注意を 怠った 場合は， 必ず， その 牛の 代償として 牛で 償わねばならない． ただし， 死んだ 牛は 彼のものとなる．

- Or if it be known that the ox hath used to push in time past, and his owner hath not kept him in; he shall surely pay ox for ox; and the dead shall be his own.
