- 「そこで， 天の 國は 次のようにたとえられる． 十人のおとめがそれぞれともし 火を 持って， 花¿を 迎えに 出て 行く．
- そのうちの 五人は 愚かで， 五人は 賢かった．
- 愚かなおとめたちは， ともし 火は 持っていたが， 油の 用意をしていなかった．
- 賢いおとめたちは， それぞれのともし 火と 一緖に， 壺に 油を 入れて 持っていた．
- ところが， 花¿の 來るのが 遲れたので， 皆眠氣がさして 眠り ¿んでしまった．

- Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
- And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
- They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
- But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
- While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

- 眞夜中に『花¿だ． 迎えに 出なさい 』と 叫ぶ 聲がした．
- そこで， おとめたちは 皆起きて， それぞれのともし 火を 整えた．
- 愚かなおとめたちは， 賢いおとめたちに 言った． 『油を 分けてください． わたしたちのともし 火は 消えそうです． 』
- 賢いおとめたちは 答えた． 『分けてあげるほどはありません． それより， 店に 行って， 自分の 分を 買って 來なさい． 』
- 愚かなおとめたちが 買いに 行っている 間に， 花¿が 到着して， 用意のできている 五人は， 花¿と 一緖に 婚宴の 席に 入り， 戶が 閉められた．

- And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
- Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
- And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
- But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
- And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

- その 後で， ほかのおとめたちも 來て， 『御主人樣， 御主人樣， 開けてください 』と 言った．
- しかし 主人は， 『はっきり 言っておく． わたしはお 前たちを 知らない 』と 答えた．
- だから， 目を 覺ましていなさい． あなたがたは， その 日， その 時を 知らないのだから． 」
- 「天の 國はまた 次のようにたとえられる． ある 人が 旅行に 出かけるとき， 僕たちを 呼んで， 自分の 財産を 預けた．
- それぞれの 力に 應じて， 一人には 五 タラントン ， 一人には 二 タラントン ， もう 一人には 一 タラントン を 預けて 旅に 出かけた． 早速，

- Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
- But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
- Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.
- For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.
- And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.

- 五 タラントン 預かった 者は 出て 行き， それで 商賣をして， ほかに 五 タラントン をもうけた．
- 同じように， 二 タラントン 預かった 者も， ほかに 二 タラントン をもうけた．
- しかし， 一 タラントン 預かった 者は， 出て 行って 穴を 掘り， 主人の 金を 隱しておいた．
- さて， かなり 日がたってから， 僕たちの 主人が 歸って 來て， 彼らと 淸算を 始めた．
- まず， 五 タラントン 預かった 者が 進み 出て， ほかの 五 タラントン を 差し 出して 言った． 『御主人樣， 五 タラントン お 預けになりましたが， 御覽ください． ほかに 五 タラントン もうけました． 』

- Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents.
- And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two.
- But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money.
- After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them.
- And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.

- 主人は 言った． 『忠實な 良い 僕だ． よくやった． お 前は 少しのものに 忠實であったから， 多くのものを 管理させよう． 主人と 一緖に 喜んでくれ． 』
- 次に， 二 タラントン 預かった 者も 進み 出て 言った． 『御主人樣， 二 タラントン お 預けになりましたが， 御覽ください． ほかに 二 タラントン もうけました． 』
- 主人は 言った． 『忠實な 良い 僕だ． よくやった． お 前は 少しのものに 忠實であったから， 多くのものを 管理させよう． 主人と 一緖に 喜んでくれ． 』
- ところで， 一 タラントン 預かった 者も 進み 出て 言った． 『御主人樣， あなたは 蒔かない 所から 刈り 取り， 散らさない 所からかき 集められる 嚴しい 方だと 知っていましたので，
- 恐ろしくなり， 出かけて 行って， あなたの タラントン を 地の 中に 隱して ／おきました． 御覽ください． これがあなたのお 金です． 』

- His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
- He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.
- His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
- Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:
- And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.

- 主人は 答えた． 『怠け 者の 惡い 僕だ． わたしが 蒔かない 所から 刈り 取り， 散らさない 所からかき 集めることを 知っていたのか．
- それなら， わたしの 金を 銀行に 入れておくべきであった． そうしておけば， 歸って 來たとき， 利息付きで 返してもらえたのに．
- さあ， その タラントン をこの 男から 取り 上げて， 十 タラントン 持っている 者に 與えよ．
- だれでも 持っている 人は 更に 與えられて 豊かになるが， 持っていない 人は 持っているものまでも 取り 上げられる．
- この 役に 立たない 僕を 外の 暗闇に 追い 出せ． そこで 泣きわめいて 齒ぎしりするだろう． 』」

- His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:
- Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.
- Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.
- For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.
- And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
