- 人¿は， イエス を 大祭司のところへ 連れて 行った． 祭司長， 長老， 律法學者たちが 皆， 集まって 來た．
- ペトロ は 遠く 離れて イエス に 從い， 大祭司の 屋敷の 中庭まで 入って， 下役たちと 一緖に 座って， 火にあたっていた．
- 祭司長たちと 最高法院の 全員は， 死刑にするため イエス にとって 不利な 證言を 求めたが， 得られなかった．
- 多くの 者が イエス に 不利な 僞證をしたが， その 證言は 食い 違っていたからである．
- すると， 數人の 者が 立ち 上がって， イエス に 不利な 僞證をした．

- And they led Jesus away to the high priest: and with him were assembled all the chief priests and the elders and the scribes.
- And Peter followed him afar off, even into the palace of the high priest: and he sat with the servants, and warmed himself at the fire.
- And the chief priests and all the council sought for witness against Jesus to put him to death; and found none.
- For many bare false witness against him, but their witness agreed not together.
- And there arose certain, and bare false witness against him, saying,

- 「この 男が， 『わたしは 人間の 手で 造ったこの 神殿を 打ち 倒し， 三日あれば， 手で 造らない 別の 神殿を 建ててみせる 』と 言うのを， わたしたちは 聞きました． 」
- しかし， この 場合も， 彼らの 證言は 食い 違った．
- そこで， 大祭司は 立ち 上がり， 眞ん 中に 進み 出て， イエス に 尋ねた． 「何も 答えないのか， この 者たちがお 前に 不利な 證言をしているが， どうなのか． 」
- しかし， イエス は 默り 續け 何もお 答えにならなかった． そこで， 重ねて 大祭司は 尋ね， 「お 前はほむべき 方の 子， メシア なのか 」と 言った．
- イエス は 言われた． 「そうです． あなたたちは， 人の 子が 全能の 神の 右に 座り， ／天の 雲に 圍まれて 來るのを 見る． 」

- We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands.
- But neither so did their witness agree together.
- And the high priest stood up in the midst, and asked Jesus, saying, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee?
- But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?
- And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

- 大祭司は， 衣を 引き 裂きながら 言った． 「これでもまだ 證人が 必要だろうか．
- 諸君は 冒瀆の 言葉を 聞いた． どう 考えるか． 」一同は， 死刑にすべきだと 決議した．
- それから， ある 者は イエス に 唾を 吐きかけ， 目隱しをしてこぶしで 毆りつけ， 「言い 當ててみろ 」と 言い 始めた． また， 下役たちは， イエス を 平手で 打った．
- ペトロ が 下の 中庭にいたとき， 大祭司に 仕える 女中の 一人が 來て，
- ペトロ が 火にあたっているのを 目にすると， じっと 見つめて 言った． 「あなたも， あの ナザレ の イエス と 一緖にいた． 」

- Then the high priest rent his clothes, and saith, What need we any further witnesses?
- Ye have heard the blasphemy: what think ye? And they all condemned him to be guilty of death.
- And some began to spit on him, and to cover his face, and to buffet him, and to say unto him, Prophesy: and the servants did strike him with the palms of their hands.
- And as Peter was beneath in the palace, there cometh one of the maids of the high priest:
- And when she saw Peter warming himself, she looked upon him, and said, And thou also wast with Jesus of Nazareth.

- しかし， ペトロ は 打ち 消して， 「あなたが 何のことを 言っているのか， わたしには 分からないし， 見當もつかない 」と 言った． そして， 出口の 方へ 出て 行くと， 鷄が 鳴いた．
- 女中は ペトロ を 見て， 周りの 人¿に， 「この 人は， あの 人たちの 仲間です 」とまた 言いだした．
- ペトロ は， 再び 打ち 消した． しばらくして， 今度は， 居合わせた 人¿が ペトロ に 言った． 「確かに， お 前はあの 連中の 仲間だ． ガリラヤ の 者だから． 」
- すると， ペトロ は 呪いの 言葉さえ 口にしながら， 「あなたがたの 言っているそんな 人は 知らない 」と 誓い 始めた．
- するとすぐ， 鷄が 再び 鳴いた． ペトロ は， 「鷄が 二度鳴く 前に， あなたは 三度わたしを 知らないと 言うだろう 」と イエス が 言われた 言葉を 思い 出して， いきなり 泣きだした．

- But he denied, saying, I know not, neither understand I what thou sayest. And he went out into the porch; and the cock crew.
- And a maid saw him again, and began to say to them that stood by, This is one of them.
- And he denied it again. And a little after, they that stood by said again to Peter, Surely thou art one of them: for thou art a Galilaean, and thy speech agreeth thereto.
- But he began to curse and to swear, saying, I know not this man of whom ye speak.
- And the second time the cock crew. And Peter called to mind the word that Jesus said unto him, Before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice. And when he thought thereon, he wept.
