- And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.
- And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles;
- Simon, (whom he also named Peter,) and Andrew his brother, James and John, Philip and Bartholomew,
- Matthew and Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon called Zelotes,
- And Judas the brother of James, and Judas Iscariot, which also was the traitor.

- イエス は 彼らと 一緖に 山から 下りて， 平らな 所にお 立ちになった． 大勢の 弟子とおびただしい 民衆が， ユダヤ 全土と エルサレム から， また， ティルス や シドン の 海岸地方から，
- イエス の 敎えを 聞くため， また 病氣をいやしていただくために 來ていた． 汚れた 靈に 惱まされていた 人¿もいやしていただいた．
- 群衆は 皆， 何とかして イエス に 觸れようとした． イエス から 力が 出て， すべての 人の 病氣をいやしていたからである．
- さて， イエス は 目を 上げ 弟子たちを 見て 言われた． 「貧しい 人¿は， 幸いである， ／神の 國はあなたがたのものである．
- 今飢えている 人¿は， 幸いである， ／あなたがたは 滿たされる． 今泣いている 人¿は， 幸いである， ／あなたがたは 笑うようになる．

- And he came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judaea and Jerusalem, and from the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases;
- And they that were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed.
- And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all.
- And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.
- Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.

- 人¿に 憎まれるとき， また， 人の 子のために 追い 出され， ののしられ， 汚名を 着せられるとき， あなたがたは 幸いである．
- その 日には， 喜び 踊りなさい． 天には 大きな 報いがある． この 人¿の 先祖も， 預言者たちに 同じことをしたのである．
- しかし， 富んでいるあなたがたは， 不幸である， ／あなたがたはもう 慰めを 受けている．
- 今滿腹している 人¿， あなたがたは， 不幸である， ／あなたがたは 飢えるようになる． 今笑っている 人¿は， 不幸である， ／あなたがたは 悲しみ 泣くようになる．
- すべての 人にほめられるとき， あなたがたは 不幸である． この 人¿の 先祖も， 僞預言者たちに 同じことをしたのである． 」

- Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.
- Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.
- But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.
- Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep.
- Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.

- 「しかし， わたしの 言葉を 聞いているあなたがたに 言っておく． 敵を 愛し， あなたがたを 憎む 者に 親切にしなさい．
- 惡口を 言う 者に 祝福を 祈り， あなたがたを 侮辱する 者のために 祈りなさい．
- あなたの 頰を 打つ 者には， もう 一方の 頰をも 向けなさい． 上着を 奪い 取る 者には， 下着をも 拒んではならない．
- 求める 者には， だれにでも 與えなさい． あなたの 持ち 物を 奪う 者から 取り 返そうとしてはならない．
- 人にしてもらいたいと 思うことを， 人にもしなさい．

- But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,
- Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.
- And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloak forbid not to take thy coat also.
- Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.
- And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.

- 自分を 愛してくれる 人を 愛したところで， あなたがたにどんな 惠みがあろうか． 罪人でも， 愛してくれる 人を 愛している．
- また， 自分によくしてくれる 人に 善いことをしたところで， どんな 惠みがあろうか． 罪人でも 同じことをしている．
- 返してもらうことを 當てにして 貸したところで， どんな 惠みがあろうか． 罪人さえ， 同じものを 返してもらおうとして， 罪人に 貸すのである．
- しかし， あなたがたは 敵を 愛しなさい． 人に 善いことをし， 何も 當てにしないで 貸しなさい． そうすれば， たくさんの 報いがあり， いと 高き 方の 子となる． いと 高き 方は， 恩を 知らない 者にも 惡人にも， 情け 深いからである．
- あなたがたの 父が 憐れみ 深いように， あなたがたも 憐れみ 深い 者となりなさい． 」

- For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.
- And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.
- And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.
- But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
- Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.

- 「人を 裁くな． そうすれば， あなたがたも 裁かれることがない． 人を 罪人だと 決めるな． そうすれば， あなたがたも 罪人だと 決められることがない． 赦しなさい． そうすれば， あなたがたも 赦される．
- 與えなさい． そうすれば， あなたがたにも 與えられる． 押し 入れ， ¿すり 入れ， あふれるほどに 量りをよくして， ふところに 入れてもらえる． あなたがたは 自分の 量る 秤で 量り 返されるからである． 」

- Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
- Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
