	신명기 31:1-32:47 임종이 가까웠음을 안 모세는 자신의 뒤를 이어 백성들을 가나안으로 인도할 지도자로서 여호수아를 세우고 그를 격려한 후, 모든 율법을 기록하여 제사장과 장로들에게 전수하고 그것을 힘써 지킬 것을 당부했다. 그리고 자기가 죽은 후에 이스라엘 백성들이 불신앙과 우상 숭배로 인해 재앙을 당할 것임을 예언하고 이에 대한 노래를 지어 백성들에게 가르쳤다.

	후계자 여호수아의 임명(31:1-31:30)

モ ― セは全イスラエルの前に步み出て，これらの言葉を告げた後，

こう言った．「わたしは今日，旣に百二十歲であり，もはや自分の務めを果たすことはできない．主はわたしに對して，『あなたはこのヨルダン川を渡ることができない』と言われた．

あなたの神，主御自身があなたに先立って渡り，あなたの前からこれらの國¿を滅ぼして，それを得させてくださる．主が約束されたとおり，ヨシュアがあなたに先立って渡る．

主は，アモリ人の王であるシホンとオグおよび彼らの國にされたように，彼らを滅ぼされる．

主が彼らをあなたたちに引き渡されるから，わたしが命じたすべての戒めに從って彼らに行いなさい．

And Moses went and spake these words unto all Israel.

And he said unto them, I am an hundred and twenty years old this day; I can no more go out and come in: also the LORD hath said unto me, Thou shalt not go over this Jordan.

The LORD thy God, he will go over before thee, and he will destroy these nations from before thee, and thou shalt possess them: and Joshua, he shall go over before thee, as the LORD hath said.

And the LORD shall do unto them as he did to Sihon and to Og, kings of the Amorites, and unto the land of them, whom he destroyed.

And the LORD shall give them up before your face, that ye may do unto them according unto all the commandments which I have commanded you.

强く，また雄¿しくあれ．恐れてはならない．彼らのゆえにうろたえてはならない．あなたの神，主は，あなたと共に步まれる．あなたを見放すことも，見捨てられることもない．」

モ ― セはそれからヨシュアを呼び寄せ，全イスラエルの前で彼に言った．「强く，また雄¿しくあれ．あなたこそ，主が先祖たちに與えると誓われた土地にこの民を導き入れる者である．あなたが彼らにそれを受け繼がせる．

Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

And Moses called unto Joshua, and said unto him in the sight of all Israel, Be strong and of a good courage: for thou must go with this people unto the land which the LORD hath sworn unto their fathers to give them; and thou shalt cause them to inherit it.

And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.

And Moses wrote this law, and delivered it unto the priests the sons of Levi, which bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and unto all the elders of Israel.

And Moses commanded them, saying, At the end of every seven years, in the solemnity of the year of release, in the feast of tabernacles,

主の選ばれる場所にあなたの神，主の御顔を拜するために全イスラエルが集まるとき，あなたはこの律法を全イスラエルの前で讀み聞かせねばならない．

民を，男も女も子供も，町のうちに寄留する者も集めなさい．彼らが聞いて學び，あなたたちの神，主を畏れ，この律法の言葉をすべて忠實に守るためであり，

これをまだ知らない彼らの子供たちも聞いて學び，あなたたちがヨルダン川を渡り，入って行って得る土地で，彼らも生きている限り，あなたたちの神，主を畏れるようになるためである．」

主はモ ― セに言われた．「あなたの死ぬ日は近づいた．ヨシュアを呼び寄せ，共に臨在の幕屋の中に立ちなさい．わたしは彼に任務を授ける．」モ ― セがヨシュアと共に臨在の幕屋の中に立つと，

When all Israel is come to appear before the LORD thy God in the place which he shall choose, thou shalt read this law before all Israel in their hearing.

Gather the people together, men and women, and children, and thy stranger that is within thy gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear the LORD your God, and observe to do all the words of this law:

And that their children, which have not known any thing, may hear, and learn to fear the LORD your God, as long as ye live in the land whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Behold, thy days approach that thou must die: call Joshua, and present yourselves in the tabernacle of the congregation, that I may give him a charge. And Moses and Joshua went, and presented themselves in the tabernacle of the congregation.

And the LORD appeared in the tabernacle in a pillar of a cloud: and the pillar of the cloud stood over the door of the tabernacle.

主はモ ― セに言われた．「あなたは間もなく先祖と共に眠る．するとこの民は直ちに，入って行く土地で，その中の外國の神¿を求めて姦淫を行い，わたしを捨てて，わたしが民と結んだ契約を破るであろう．

その日，この民に對してわたしの怒りは燃え，わたしは彼らを捨て，わたしの顔を隱す．民は燒き盡くされることになり，多くの災いと苦難に襲われる．その日民は，『これらの災いに襲われるのは，わたしのうちに神がおられないからではないか』と言う．

And the LORD said unto Moses, Behold, thou shalt sleep with thy fathers; and this people will rise up, and go a whoring after the gods of the strangers of the land, whither they go to be among them, and will forsake me, and break my covenant which I have made with them.

Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall befall them; so that they will say in that day, Are not these evils come upon us, because our God is not among us?

And I will surely hide my face in that day for all the evils which they shall have wrought, in that they are turned unto other gods.

Now therefore write ye this song for you, and teach it the children of Israel: put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for me against the children of Israel.

For when I shall have brought them into the land which I sware unto their fathers, that floweth with milk and honey; and they shall have eaten and filled themselves, and waxen fat; then will they turn unto other gods, and serve them, and provoke me, and break my covenant.

そして多くの災いと苦難に襲われるとき，この歌は，その子孫が忘れずに唱え續けることにより，民に對する證言となるであろう．わたしは，わたしが誓った土地へ彼らを導き入れる前から，旣に彼らが今日，思い圖っていることを知っていたのである．」

モ ― セは，その日，この歌を書き記してイスラエルの人¿に敎えた．

主はヌンの子ヨシュアに命じて言われた．「强く，また雄¿しくあれ．あなたこそ，わたしが彼らに誓った土地にイスラエルの人¿を導き入れる者である．わたしはいつもあなたと共にいる．」

モ ― セは，この律法の言葉を余すところなく書物に書き終えると，

主の契約の箱を擔ぐレビ人に命じた．

And it shall come to pass, when many evils and troubles are befallen them, that this song shall testify against them as a witness; for it shall not be forgotten out of the mouths of their seed: for I know their imagination which they go about, even now, before I have brought them into the land which I sware.

Moses therefore wrote this song the same day, and taught it the children of Israel.

And he gave Joshua the son of Nun a charge, and said, Be strong and of a good courage: for thou shalt bring the children of Israel into the land which I sware unto them: and I will be with thee.

And it came to pass, when Moses had made an end of writing the words of this law in a book, until they were finished,

That Moses commanded the Levites, which bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD, saying,

「この律法の書を取り，あなたたちの神，主の契約の箱の傍らに置き，あなたに對する證言としてそこにあるようにしなさい．

わたしはあなたがかたくなで背く者であることを知っている．わたしが今日，まだ共に生きているときでさえ，あなたたちは主に背いている．わたしが死んだ後は，なおさらであろう．

あなたたちの部族の長老と役人をすべてわたしのもとに集めなさい．わたしはこれらの言葉を彼らに語り聞かせ，天と地を彼らに對する證人とする．

わたしには分かっている．わたしの死んだ後，あなたたちは必ず墮落して，わたしの命じた道からそれる．そして後の日に，災いがあなたたちにふりかかる．あなたたちが主が惡と見なされることを行い，その手の業によって主を怒らせるからである．」

モ ― セは，イスラエルの全會衆にこの歌の言葉を余すところなく語り聞かせた．

Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee.

For I know thy rebellion, and thy stiff neck: behold, while I am yet alive with you this day, ye have been rebellious against the LORD; and how much more after my death?

Gather unto me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth to record against them.

For I know that after my death ye will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days; because ye will do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands.

And Moses spake in the ears of all the congregation of Israel the words of this song, until they were ended.

	모세의 노래(32:1-32:47)

天よ，耳を傾けよ，わたしは語ろう．地よ，聞け，わたしの語る言葉を．

わたしの敎えは雨のように降り注ぎ／わたしの言葉は露のように滴る．若草の上に降る小雨のように／靑草の上に降り注ぐ夕立のように．

わたしは主の御名を唱える．御力をわたしたちの神に歸せよ．

主は岩，その御業は完全で／その道はことごとく正しい．眞實の神で僞りなく／正しくてまっすぐな方．

不正を好む曲がった世代はしかし，神を離れ／その傷ゆえに，もはや神の子らではない．

Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.

My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass:

Because I will publish the name of the LORD: ascribe ye greatness unto our God.

He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.

They have corrupted themselves, their spot is not the spot of his children: they are a perverse and crooked generation.

愚かで知惠のない民よ／これが主に向かって報いることか．彼は造り主なる父／あなたを造り，堅く立てられた方．

遠い昔の日¿を思い起こし／代¿の年を顧みよ．あなたの父に問えば，告げてくれるだろう．長老に尋ねれば，話してくれるだろう．

いと高き神が國¿に嗣業の土地を分け／人の子らを割りふられたとき／神の子らの數に從い／國¿の境を設けられた．

主に割り當てられたのはその民／ヤコブが主に定められた嗣業．

主は荒れ野で彼を見いだし／¿のほえる不毛の地でこれを見つけ／これを圍い，いたわり／御自分のひとみのように守られた．

Do ye thus requite the LORD, O foolish people and unwise? is not he thy father that hath bought thee? hath he not made thee, and established thee?

Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask thy father, and he will shew thee; thy elders, and they will tell thee.

When the Most High divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel.

For the LORD's portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.

He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye.

鷲が巢を ¿り動かし／雛の上を飛びかけり／羽を廣げて捕らえ／翼に乘せて運ぶように

ただ主のみ，その民を導き／外國の神は彼と共にいなかった．

主はこれを丘陵の地に導き上り／野の作物で養い／岩から野蜜を／硬い岩から油を得させられた．

彼らは，牛の凝乳，羊の乳／雄羊の脂身／バシャンの雄牛と雄山羊／極上の小麥を與えられ／深紅のぶどう酒，泡立つ酒を飮んだ．

エシュルンはしかし，肥えると足でけった．お前は肥え太ると，かたくなになり／造り主なる神を捨て，救いの岩を侮った．

As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings:

So the LORD alone did lead him, and there was no strange god with him.

He made him ride on the high places of the earth, that he might eat the increase of the fields; and he made him to suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock;

Butter of kine, and milk of sheep, with fat of lambs, and rams of the breed of Bashan, and goats, with the fat of kidneys of wheat; and thou didst drink the pure blood of the grape.

But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: thou art waxen fat, thou art grown thick, thou art covered with fatness; then he forsook God which made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.

彼らは他の神¿に心を寄せ／主にねたみを起こさせ／いとうべきことを行って，主を怒らせた．

彼らは神ならぬ惡靈に ¿牲をささげ／新しく現れ，先祖も知らなかった／無緣の神¿に ¿牲をささげた．

主はこれを見て／御自分の息子，娘への憤りのゆえに／彼らを退けて，

言われた．わたしは，わたしの顔を隱して／彼らの行く末を見屆けよう．彼らは逆らう世代／眞實のない子らだ．

They provoked him to jealousy with strange gods, with abominations provoked they him to anger.

They sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not.

Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten God that formed thee.

And when the LORD saw it, he abhorred them, because of the provoking of his sons, and of his daughters.

And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith.

彼らは神ならぬものをもって／わたしのねたみを引き起こし／むなしいものをもって／わたしの怒りを燃えたたせた．それゆえ，わたしは民ならぬ者をもって／彼らのねたみを引き起こし／愚かな國をもって／彼らの怒りを燃えたたせる．

わが怒りの火は燃え上がり／陰府の底にまで及び／地とその實りをなめ盡くし／山¿の基を燒き拂う．

わたしは，彼らに災いを加え／わたしの矢を彼らに向かって射盡くすであろう．

彼らは飢えてやせ衰え／熱病と激しい病魔のために弱る．わたしは野¿の牙を／地を這うものの猛毒と共に彼らに送る．

外では劍が命を奪い／家には恐れがあって／若い男と女，乳飮み子と白髮の者を共に襲う．

They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God; they have provoked me to anger with their vanities: and I will move them to jealousy with those which are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.

For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains.

I will heap mischiefs upon them; I will spend mine arrows upon them.

They shall be burnt with hunger, and devoured with burning heat, and with bitter destruction: I will also send the teeth of beasts upon them, with the poison of serpents of the dust.

The sword without, and terror within, shall destroy both the young man and the virgin, the suckling also with the man of gray hairs.

わたしは言ったであろう．「彼らを跡形もなくし／人¿から彼らの記憶を消してしまおう」と．

もし，敵が高ぶり，苦しめる者が誤解して／「我¿の手が勝ちを得た／これを成し遂げたのは主ではない」と言うのを／わたしが恐れなかったならば．

彼らは思慮に欠けた國民／彼らには洞察する力がない．

もし，彼らに知惠があれば，悟ったであろうに．自分の行く末も分かったであろうに．

もし，岩なる神が彼らを賣らず／主が渡されなかったなら／どうして一人で千人を追い／二人で万人を破りえたであろうか．

I said, I would scatter them into corners, I would make the remembrance of them to cease from among men:

Were it not that I feared the wrath of the enemy, lest their adversaries should behave themselves strangely, and lest they should say, Our hand is high, and the LORD hath not done all this.

For they are a nation void of counsel, neither is there any understanding in them.

O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!

How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the LORD had shut them up?

しかし，彼らの岩は我¿の岩に及ばない．我¿の敵もそのことは認めている．

彼らのぶどうの木は，ソドムのぶどうの木で／ゴモラの畑で育ったもの．そのぶどうは毒ぶどう／その房は苦い．

そのぶどう酒は，蛇の毒／コブラの猛毒．

これは，わたしのもとに蓄えてあり／わたしの倉に封じ ¿めてあるではないか．

わたしが報復し，報いをする／彼らの足がよろめく時まで．彼らの災いの日は近い．彼らの終わりは速やかに來る．

For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges.

For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and of the fields of Gomorrah: their grapes are grapes of gall, their clusters are bitter:

Their wine is the poison of dragons, and the cruel venom of asps.

Is not this laid up in store with me, and sealed up among my treasures?

To me belongeth vengeance and recompence; their foot shall slide in due time: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste.

主は御自分の民の裁きを行い／僕らを力づけられる．主が見られるからである／彼らの力がうせ去り／未成年者も成人した者もいなくなったのを．

主は言われる．「どこにいるのか，彼らの神¿は．どこにあるのか，彼らが身を寄せる岩は．

彼らはいけにえの脂肪を食らい／注がれた酒を飮んだではないか．さあ，その神¿に助けてもらえ／お前たちの避け所となってもらえ．

しかし見よ，わたしこそ，わたしこそそれである．わたしのほかに神はない．わたしは殺し，また生かす．わたしは傷つけ，またいやす．わが手を逃れうる者は，一人もない．

わたしは手を天に上げて誓う．『わたしの永遠の命にかけて

For the LORD shall judge his people, and repent himself for his servants, when he seeth that their power is gone, and there is none shut up, or left.

And he shall say, Where are their gods, their rock in whom they trusted,

Which did eat the fat of their sacrifices, and drank the wine of their drink offerings? let them rise up and help you, and be your protection.

See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.

For I lift up my hand to heaven, and say, I live for ever.

きらめく劍を硏ぎ，手に裁きを握るとき／わたしは苦しめる者に報復し／わたしを憎む者に報いる．

わたしの矢を血に醉わせ／わたしの劍に肉を食らわせる．殺された者と捕らえられた者の血を飮ませ／髮を伸ばした敵の首領の肉を食らわせる．』」

國¿よ，主の民に喜びの聲をあげよ．主はその僕らの血に報復し／苦しめる者に報復して，その民の土地を ·われる．

モ ― セは，ヌンの子ホシェアと共に來て，この歌の言葉をすべて民に語り聞かせた．

モ ― セは全イスラエルにこれらの言葉をすべて語り終えてから，

If I whet my glittering sword, and mine hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to mine enemies, and will reward them that hate me.

I will make mine arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh; and that with the blood of the slain and of the captives, from the beginning of revenges upon the enemy.

Rejoice, O ye nations, with his people: for he will avenge the blood of his servants, and will render vengeance to his adversaries, and will be merciful unto his land, and to his people.

And Moses came and spake all the words of this song in the ears of the people, he, and Hoshea the son of Nun.

And Moses made an end of speaking all these words to all Israel:

こう言った．「あなたたちは，今日わたしがあなたたちに對して證言するすべての言葉を心に留め，子供たちに命じて，この律法の言葉をすべて忠實に守らせなさい．

それは，あなたたちにとって決してむなしい言葉ではなく，あなたたちの命である．この言葉によって，あなたたちはヨルダン川を渡って得る土地で長く生きることができる．」

And he said unto them, Set your hearts unto all the words which I testify among you this day, which ye shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law.

For it is not a vain thing for you; because it is your life: and through this thing ye shall prolong your days in the land, whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.
