- その 後， イエス は 弟子たちと ユダヤ 地方に 行って， そこに 一緖に 滯在し， 洗禮を 授けておられた．
- 他方， ヨハネ は， サリム の 近くの アイノン で 洗禮を 授けていた． そこは 水が 豊かであったからである． 人¿は 來て， 洗禮を 受けていた．
- ヨハネ はまだ 投獄されていなかったのである．
- ところが ヨハネ の 弟子たちと， ある ユダヤ 人との 間で， 淸めのことで 論爭が 起こった．
- 彼らは ヨハネ のもとに 來て 言った． 「ラビ ， ヨルダン 川の 向こう 側であなたと 一緖にいた 人， あなたが 證しされたあの 人が， 洗禮を 授けています． みんながあの 人の 方へ 行っています． 」

- After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judaea; and there he tarried with them, and baptized.
- And John also was baptizing in Aenon near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized.
- For John was not yet cast into prison.
- Then there arose a question between some of John's disciples and the Jews about purifying.
- And they came unto John, and said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to him.

- ヨハネ は 答えて 言った． 「天から 與えられなければ， 人は 何も 受けることができない．
- わたしは， 『自分は メシア ではない 』と 言い， 『自分はあの 方の 前に 遣わされた 者だ 』と 言ったが， そのことについては， あなたたち 自身が 證ししてくれる．
- 花嫁を 迎えるのは 花¿だ． 花¿の 介添え 人はそばに 立って 耳を 傾け， 花¿の 聲が 聞こえると 大いに 喜ぶ． だから， わたしは 喜びで 滿たされている．
- あの 方は 榮え， わたしは 衰えねばならない． 」
- 「上から 來られる 方は， すべてのものの 上におられる． 地から 出る 者は 地に 屬し， 地に 屬する 者として 語る． 天から 來られる 方は， すべてのものの 上におられる．

- John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.
- Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him.
- He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.
- He must increase, but I must decrease.
- He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.

- この 方は， 見たこと， 聞いたことを 證しされるが， だれもその 證しを 受け 入れない．
- その 證しを 受け 入れる 者は， 神が 眞實であることを 確認したことになる．
- 神がお 遣わしになった 方は， 神の 言葉を 話される． 神が “靈 ＂を 限りなくお 與えになるからである．
- 御父は 御子を 愛して， その 手にすべてをゆだねられた．
- 御子を 信じる 人は 永遠の 命を 得ているが， 御子に 從わない 者は， 命にあずかることがないばかりか， 神の 怒りがその 上にとどまる． 」

- And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony.
- He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true.
- For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.
- The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.
- He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
