- わたしたちが 聞いて 悟ったこと ／先祖がわたしたちに 語り 傳えたことを．
- 子孫に 隱さず， 後の 世代に 語り 繼ごう ／主への 贊美， 主の 御力を ／主が 成し 遂げられた 驚くべき 御業を．
- 主は ヤコブ の 中に 定めを 與え ／ イスラエル の 中に 敎えを 置き ／それを 子孫に 示すように ／わたしたちの 先祖に 命じられた．

- Give ear, O my people, to my law: incline your ears to the words of my mouth.
- I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old:
- Which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us.
- We will not hide them from their children, shewing to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done.
- For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children:

- 子らが 生まれ， 後の 世代が 興るとき ／彼らもそれを 知り ／その 子らに 語り 繼がなければならない．
- 子らが 神に 信賴をおき ／神の 御業を 決して 忘れず ／その 戒めを 守るために
- 先祖のように ／頑な 反抗の 世代とならないように ／心が 確かに 定まらない 世代 ／神に 不忠實な 靈の 世代とならないように．

- That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children:
- That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments:
- And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not stedfast with God.
