- そこで， ピラト は イエス を 捕らえ， 鞭で 打たせた．
- 兵士たちは 茨で 冠を 編んで イエス の 頭に 載せ， 紫の 服をまとわせ，
- そばにやって 來ては， 「ユダヤ 人の 王， 万歲 」と 言って， 平手で 打った．
- ピラト はまた 出て 來て， 言った． 「見よ， あの 男をあなたたちのところへ 引き 出そう． そうすれば， わたしが 彼に 何の 罪も 見いだせないわけが 分かるだろう． 」
- イエス は 茨の 冠をかぶり， 紫の 服を 着けて 出て 來られた． ピラト は， 「見よ， この 男だ 」と 言った．

- Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him.
- And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe,
- And said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they smote him with their hands.
- Pilate therefore went forth again, and saith unto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him.
- Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith unto them, Behold the man!

- 祭司長たちや 下役たちは， イエス を 見ると， 「十字架につけろ． 十字架につけろ 」と 叫んだ． ピラト は 言った． 「あなたたちが 引き 取って， 十字架につけるがよい． わたしはこの 男に 罪を 見いだせない． 」
- ユダヤ 人たちは 答えた． 「わたしたちには 律法があります． 律法によれば， この 男は 死罪に 當たります． 神の 子と 自稱したからです． 」
- ピラト は， この 言葉を 聞いてますます 恐れ，
- 再び 總督官邸の 中に 入って， 「お 前はどこから 來たのか 」と イエス に 言った． しかし， イエス は 答えようとされなかった．
- そこで， ピラト は 言った． 「わたしに 答えないのか． お 前を 釋放する 權限も， 十字架につける 權限も， このわたしにあることを 知らないのか． 」

- When the chief priests therefore and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Take ye him, and crucify him: for I find no fault in him.
- The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.
- When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he was the more afraid;
- And went again into the judgment hall, and saith unto Jesus, Whence art thou? But Jesus gave him no answer.
- Then saith Pilate unto him, Speakest thou not unto me? knowest thou not that I have power to crucify thee, and have power to release thee?

- イエス は 答えられた． 「神から 與えられていなければ， わたしに 對して 何の 權限もないはずだ． だから， わたしをあなたに 引き 渡した 者の 罪はもっと 重い． 」
- そこで， ピラト は イエス を 釋放しようと 努めた． しかし， ユダヤ 人たちは 叫んだ． 「もし， この 男を 釋放するなら， あなたは 皇帝の 友ではない． 王と 自稱する 者は 皆， 皇帝に 背いています． 」
- ピラト は， これらの 言葉を 聞くと， イエス を 外に 連れ 出し， ヘブライ 語で ガバタ ， すなわち「敷石 」という 場所で， 裁判の 席に 着かせた．
- それは 過越祭の 準備の 日の， 正午ごろであった． ピラト が ユダヤ 人たちに， 「見よ， あなたたちの 王だ 」と 言うと，
- 彼らは 叫んだ． 「殺せ． 殺せ． 十字架につけろ． 」 ピラト が， 「あなたたちの 王をわたしが 十字架につけるのか 」と 言うと， 祭司長たちは， 「わたしたちには， 皇帝のほかに 王はありません 」と 答えた．

- Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin.
- And from thenceforth Pilate sought to release him: but the Jews cried out, saying, If thou let this man go, thou art not Caesar's friend: whosoever maketh himself a king speaketh against Caesar.
- When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he brought Jesus forth, and sat down in the judgment seat in a place that is called the Pavement, but in the Hebrew, Gabbatha.
- And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King!
- But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar.

- そこで， ピラト は， 十字架につけるために， イエス を 彼らに 引き 渡した． こうして， 彼らは イエス を 引き 取った．

- Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away.
