- 兄弟たち， マケドニア 州の 諸敎會に 與えられた 神の 惠みについて 知らせましょう．
- 彼らは 苦しみによる 激しい 試練を 受けていたのに， その 滿ち 滿ちた 喜びと 極度の 貧しさがあふれ 出て， 人に 惜しまず 施す 豊かさとなったということです．
- わたしは 證ししますが， 彼らは 力に 應じて， また 力以上に， 自分から 進んで，
- 聖なる 者たちを 助けるための 慈善の 業と 奉仕に 參加させてほしいと， しきりにわたしたちに 願い 出たのでした．
- また， わたしたちの 期待以上に， 彼らはまず 主に， 次いで， 神の 御心にそってわたしたちにも 自分自身を 獻げたので，

- Moreover, brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia;
- How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality.
- For to their power, I bear record, yea, and beyond their power they were willing of themselves;
- Praying us with much intreaty that we would receive the gift, and take upon us the fellowship of the ministering to the saints.
- And this they did, not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.

- わたしたちは テトス に， この 慈善の 業をあなたがたの 間で 始めたからには， やり 遂げるようにと 勸めました．
- あなたがたは 信仰， 言葉， 知識， あらゆる 熱心， わたしたちから 受ける 愛など， すべての 点で 豊かなのですから， この 慈善の 業においても 豊かな 者となりなさい．
- わたしは 命令としてこう 言っているのではありません． 他の 人¿の 熱心に 照らしてあなたがたの 愛の 純粹さを 確かめようとして 言うのです．
- あなたがたは， わたしたちの 主 イエス · キリスト の 惠みを 知っています． すなわち， 主は 豊かであったのに， あなたがたのために 貧しくなられた． それは， 主の 貧しさによって， あなたがたが 豊かになるためだったのです．
- この 件についてわたしの 意見を 述べておきます． それがあなたがたの 益になるからです． あなたがたは， このことを 去年から 他に 先がけて 實行したばかりでなく， 實行したいと 願ってもいました．

- Insomuch that we desired Titus, that as he had begun, so he would also finish in you the same grace also.
- Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also.
- I speak not by commandment, but by occasion of the forwardness of others, and to prove the sincerity of your love.
- For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.
- And herein I give my advice: for this is expedient for you, who have begun before, not only to do, but also to be forward a year ago.

- だから， 今それをやり 遂げなさい． 進んで 實行しようと 思ったとおりに， 自分が 持っているものでやり 遂げることです．
- 進んで 行う 氣持があれば， 持たないものではなく， 持っているものに 應じて， 神に 受け 入れられるのです．
- 他の 人¿には 樂をさせて， あなたがたに 苦勞をかけるということではなく， 釣り 合いがとれるようにするわけです．
- あなたがたの 現在のゆとりが 彼らの 欠乏を 補えば， いつか 彼らのゆとりもあなたがたの 欠乏を 補うことになり， こうして 釣り 合いがとれるのです．
- 「多く 集めた 者も， 余ることはなく， ／わずかしか 集めなかった 者も， ／不足することはなかった 」と 書いてあるとおりです．

- Now therefore perform the doing of it; that as there was a readiness to will, so there may be a performance also out of that which ye have.
- For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.
- For I mean not that other men be eased, and ye burdened:
- But by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want, that their abundance also may be a supply for your want: that there may be equality:
- As it is written, He that had gathered much had nothing over; and he that had gathered little had no lack.
