- 災いだ， 僞りの 判決を 下す 者 ／勞苦を 負わせる 宣告文を 記す 者は．
- 彼らは 弱い 者の 訴えを 退け ／わたしの 民の 貧しい 者から 權利を 奪い ／やもめを 餌食とし， みなしごを 略奪する．
- 刑罰の 日に 向かって ／襲って 來る 嵐に 對して ／お 前たちはどうするつもりか． 誰に 助けを 求めて 逃れるつもりか． どこにお 前たちは 榮光を 託そうとするのか．
- 捕らわれ 人としてかがみ ／殺された 者となって 倒れるだけではないか． しかしなお， 主の 怒りはやまず ／御手は 伸ばされたままだ．
- 災いだ， わたしの 怒りの 鞭となる アッシリア は． 彼はわたしの 手にある 憤りの 杖だ．

- Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees, and that write grievousness which they have prescribed;
- To turn aside the needy from judgment, and to take away the right from the poor of my people, that widows may be their prey, and that they may rob the fatherless!
- And what will ye do in the day of visitation, and in the desolation which shall come from far? to whom will ye flee for help? and where will ye leave your glory?
- Without me they shall bow down under the prisoners, and they shall fall under the slain. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
- O Assyrian, the rod of mine anger, and the staff in their hand is mine indignation.

- 神を 無視する 國に 向かって ／わたしはそれを 遣わし ／わたしの 激怒をかった 民に 對して， それに 命じる． 「戰利品を 取り， 略奪品を 取れ ／野の 土のように 彼を 踏みにじれ 」と．

- I will send him against an hypocritical nation, and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.
- Howbeit he meaneth not so, neither doth his heart think so; but it is in his heart to destroy and cut off nations not a few.
- For he saith, Are not my princes altogether kings?
- Is not Calno as Carchemish? is not Hamath as Arpad? is not Samaria as Damascus?
- As my hand hath found the kingdoms of the idols, and whose graven images did excel them of Jerusalem and of Samaria;

- そして， サマリア とその 偶像にしたように ／わたしは 必ず エルサレム と ／その 彫像に 對して 行う． 」
- 主は シオン の 山と エルサレム に 對する 御業をすべて 成就されるとき， アッシリア の 王の 梶った 心の 結ぶ 實， 高ぶる 目の 輝きを 罰せられる．
- なぜなら アッシリア の 王は 言った． 「自分の 手の 力によってわたしは 行った． 聰明なわたしは 自分の 知惠によって 行った． わたしは 諸民族の 境を 取り 拂い ／彼らの 蓄えた 物を 略奪し ／力ある 者と 共に 住民たちを 引きずり 落とした．
- わたしの 手は， 鳥の 巢を 奪うように ／諸民族の 富に 伸びた． 置き 去られた 卵をかき 集めるように ／わたしは 全世界をかき 集めた． そのとき， 翼を 動かす 者はなく ／くちばしを 開いて 鳴く 者もなかった． 」
- 斧がそれを 振るう 者に 對して 自分を 誇り ／のこぎりがそれを 使う 者に 向かって ／高ぶることができるだろうか． それは， 鞭が 自分を 振り 上げる 者を 動かし ／杖が 木でない 者を 持ち 上げようとするに 等しい．

- Shall I not, as I have done unto Samaria and her idols, so do to Jerusalem and her idols?
- Wherefore it shall come to pass, that when the Lord hath performed his whole work upon mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his high looks.
- For he saith, By the strength of my hand I have done it, and by my wisdom; for I am prudent: and I have removed the bounds of the people, and have robbed their treasures, and I have put down the inhabitants like a valiant man:
- And my hand hath found as a nest the riches of the people: and as one gathereth eggs that are left, have I gathered all the earth; and there was none that moved the wing, or opened the mouth, or peeped.
- Shall the axe boast itself against him that heweth therewith? or shall the saw magnify itself against him that shaketh it? as if the rod should shake itself against them that lift it up, or as if the staff should lift up itself, as if it were no wood.

- それゆえ， 万軍の 主なる 神は ／太った 者の 中に 衰弱を 送り ／主の 榮光の 下に 炎を 燃え 上がらせ ／火のように 燃えさせられる．
- イスラエル の 光である 方は 火となり ／聖なる 方は 炎となって ／一日のうちに 茨とおどろを 燒き 盡くされる．
- 森も 牧場も 魂から 肉まで 燒き 盡くされ ／くずおれて， 倒れる．
- 森に 殘る 木は 數少なく ／幼子でもそれを 書き 留めうる．
- その 日には， イスラエル の 殘りの 者と ヤコブ の 家の 逃れた 者とは， 再び 自分たちを 擊った 敵に 賴ることなく， イスラエル の 聖なる 方， 主に 眞實をもって 賴る．

- Therefore shall the Lord, the Lord of hosts, send among his fat ones leanness; and under his glory he shall kindle a burning like the burning of a fire.
- And the light of Israel shall be for a fire, and his Holy One for a flame: and it shall burn and devour his thorns and his briers in one day;
- And shall consume the glory of his forest, and of his fruitful field, both soul and body: and they shall be as when a standard-bearer fainteth.
- And the rest of the trees of his forest shall be few, that a child may write them.
- And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him that smote them; but shall stay upon the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.

- 殘りの 者が 歸って 來る． ヤコブ の 殘りの 者が， 力ある 神に．
- あなたの 民 イスラエル が 海の 砂のようであっても， そのうちの 殘りの 者だけが 歸って 來る． 滅びは 定められ， 正義がみなぎる．
- 万軍の 主なる 神が， 定められた 滅びを 全世界のただ 中で 行われるからだ．
- それゆえ， 万軍の 主なる 神はこう 言われる． 「シオン に 住むわが 民よ， アッシリア を 恐れるな． たとえ， エジプト がしたように ／彼らがあなたを 鞭で 打ち， 杖を 振り 上げても．
- やがて， わたしの 憤りの 盡きるときが 來る． わたしの 怒りは 彼らの 滅びに 向けられる．

- The remnant shall return, even the remnant of Jacob, unto the mighty God.
- For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return: the consumption decreed shall overflow with righteousness.
- For the Lord GOD of hosts shall make a consumption, even determined, in the midst of all the land.
- Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD of hosts, O my people that dwellest in Zion, be not afraid of the Assyrian: he shall smite thee with a rod, and shall lift up his staff against thee, after the manner of Egypt.
- For yet a very little while, and the indignation shall cease, and mine anger in their destruction.

- And the LORD of hosts shall stir up a scourge for him according to the slaughter of Midian at the rock of Oreb: and as his rod was upon the sea, so shall he lift it up after the manner of Egypt.
