- わが 子よ ／わたしの 言葉を 受け 入れ， 戒めを 大切にして
- 知惠に 耳を 傾け， 英知に 心を 向けるなら
- 分別に 呼びかけ， 英知に 向かって 聲をあげるなら
- 銀を 求めるようにそれを 尋ね ／寶物を 求めるようにそれを 搜すなら
- あなたは 主を 畏れることを 悟り ／神を 知ることに 到達するであろう．

- My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;
- So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;
- Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;
- If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;
- Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.

- 知惠を 授けるのは 主． 主の 口は 知識と 英知を 與える．
- 主は 正しい 人のために 力を ／完全な 道を 步く 人のために 盾を 備えて
- 裁きの 道を 守り ／主の 慈しみに 生きる 人の 道を 見守ってくださる．
- また， あなたは 悟るであろう ／正義と 裁きと 公平はすべて 幸いに 導く， と．
- 知惠があなたの 心を 訪れ， 知識が 魂の 喜びとなり

- For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.
- He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.
- He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.
- Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.
- When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul;

- 愼重さがあなたを 保ち， 英知が 守ってくれるので
- あなたは 惡い 道から 救い 出され ／暴言をはく 者を 免れることができる．

- Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:
- To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things;
