- その 結果， 一方では， 以前の ¿が， その 弱く 無益なために 廢止されました． ――
- 律法が 何一つ 完全なものにしなかったからです ――しかし， 他方では， もっと 優れた 希望がもたらされました． わたしたちは， この 希望によって 神に 近づくのです．
- また， これは 誓いによらないで 行われたのではありません． レビ の 系統の 祭司たちは， 誓いによらないで 祭司になっているのですが，
- この 方は， 誓いによって 祭司となられたのです． 神はこの 方に 對してこう 言われました． 「主はこう 誓われ， ／その 御心を 變えられることはない． 『あなたこそ， 永遠に 祭司である． 』」
- このようにして， イエス はいっそう 優れた 契約の 保證となられたのです．

- For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.
- For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.
- And inasmuch as not without an oath he was made priest:
- (For those priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said unto him, The Lord sware and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec:)
- By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.

- また， レビ の 系統の 祭司たちの 場合には， 死というものがあるので， 務めをいつまでも 續けることができず， 多くの 人たちが 祭司に 任命されました．
- しかし， イエス は 永遠に 生きているので， 變わることのない 祭司職を 持っておられるのです．
- それでまた， この 方は 常に 生きていて， 人¿のために 執り 成しておられるので， 御自分を 通して 神に 近づく 人たちを， 完全に 救うことがおできになります．
- このように 聖であり， 罪なく， 汚れなく， 罪人から 離され， もろもろの 天よりも 高くされている 大祭司こそ， わたしたちにとって 必要な 方なのです．
- この 方は， ほかの 大祭司たちのように， まず 自分の 罪のため， 次に 民の 罪のために 每日いけにえを 獻げる 必要はありません． というのは， このいけにえはただ 一度， 御自身を 獻げることによって， 成し 遂げられたからです．

- And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death:
- But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.
- Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.
- For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;
- Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.

- 律法は 弱さを 持った 人間を 大祭司に 任命しますが， 律法の 後になされた 誓いの 御言葉は， 永遠に 完全な 者とされておられる 御子を 大祭司としたのです．

- For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.
