- 信仰によって， アブラハム は， 試練を 受けたとき， イサク を 獻げました． つまり， 約束を 受けていた 者が， 獨り 子を 獻げようとしたのです．
- この 獨り 子については， 「イサク から 生まれる 者が， あなたの 子孫と 呼ばれる 」と 言われていました．
- アブラハム は， 神が 人を 死者の 中から 生き 返らせることもおできになると 信じたのです． それで 彼は， イサク を 返してもらいましたが， それは 死者の 中から 返してもらったも 同然です．
- 信仰によって， イサク は， 將來のことについても， ヤコブ と エサウ のために 祝福を 祈りました．
- 信仰によって， ヤコブ は 死に 臨んで， ヨセフ の 息子たちの 一人一人のために 祝福を 祈り， 杖の 先に 寄りかかって 神を 禮拜しました．

- By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,

- Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure.

- 信仰によって， モ ― セ は 生まれてから 三か 月間， 兩親によって 隱されました． その 子の 美しさを 見， 王の 命令を 恐れなかったからです．
- 信仰によって， モ ― セ は 成人したとき， ファラオ の 王女の 子と 呼ばれることを 拒んで，
- はかない 罪の 樂しみにふけるよりは， 神の 民と 共に 虐待される 方を 選び，
- キリスト のゆえに 受けるあざけりを エジプト の 財寶よりまさる 富と 考えました． 與えられる 報いに 目を 向けていたからです．
