야고보서 2:14-3:18

 야고보는 믿음이란 생활 속에서 실천하는 것이므로 행함은 믿음의 열매와 같다고 지적하였고, 혀를 잘 다스리는 자가 온전한 자라고 말하였으며, 하나님의 선물인 참지혜는 선하고 온전하다고 가르쳤다.
  
  믿음과 실천(2:14-2:26)    
 
  1. わたしの 兄弟たち， 自分は 信仰を 持っていると 言う 者がいても， 行いが 伴わなければ， 何の 役に 立つでしょうか． そのような 信仰が， 彼を 救うことができるでしょうか．
  2. もし， 兄弟あるいは 姉妹が， 着る 物もなく， その 日の 食べ 物にも 事欠いているとき，
  3. あなたがたのだれかが， 彼らに， 「安心して 行きなさい． 溫まりなさい． 滿腹するまで 食べなさい 」と 言うだけで， 體に 必要なものを 何一つ 與えないなら， 何の 役に 立つでしょう．
  4. 信仰もこれと 同じです． 行いが 伴わないなら， 信仰はそれだけでは 死んだものです．
  5. しかし， 「あなたには 信仰があり， わたしには 行いがある 」と 言う 人がいるかもしれません． 行いの 伴わないあなたの 信仰を 見せなさい． そうすれば， わたしは 行いによって， 自分の 信仰を 見せましょう．
  1. What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
  2. If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
  3. And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
  4. Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
  5. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
  1. あなたは「神は 唯一だ 」と 信じている． 結構なことだ． 惡靈どももそう 信じて， おののいています．
  2. ああ， 愚かな 者よ， 行いの 伴わない 信仰が 役に 立たない， ということを 知りたいのか．
  3. 神がわたしたちの 父 アブラハム を 義とされたのは， 息子の イサク を 祭壇の 上に 獻げるという 行いによってではなかったですか．
  4. アブラハム の 信仰がその 行いと 共に ¿き， 信仰が 行いによって 完成されたことが， これで 分かるでしょう．
  5. 「アブラハム は 神を 信じた． それが 彼の 義と 認められた 」という 聖書の 言葉が 實現し， 彼は 神の 友と 呼ばれたのです．
  1. Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
  2. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
  3. Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
  4. Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
  5. And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
  1. これであなたがたも 分かるように， 人は 行いによって 義とされるのであって， 信仰だけによるのではありません．
  2. 同樣に， 娼婦 ラハブ も， あの 使いの 者たちを 家に 迎え 入れ， 別の 道から 送り 出してやるという 行いによって， 義とされたではありませんか．
  3. 魂のない 肉體が 死んだものであるように， 行いを 伴わない 信仰は 死んだものです．
  1. Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
  2. Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?
  3. For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
 
  혀의 위험성(3:1-3:12)    
 
  1. わたしの 兄弟たち， あなたがたのうち 多くの 人が 敎師になってはなりません． わたしたち 敎師がほかの 人たちより 嚴しい 裁きを 受けることになると， あなたがたは 知っています．
  2. わたしたちは 皆， 度¿過ちを 犯すからです． 言葉で 過ちを 犯さないなら， それは 自分の 全身を 制御できる 完全な 人です．
  3. 馬を 御するには， 口にくつわをはめれば， その 體全體を 意のままに 動かすことができます．
  4. また， 船を 御覽なさい． あのように 大きくて， 强風に 吹きまくられている 船も， 舵取りは， ごく 小さい 舵で 意のままに 操ります．
  5. 同じように， 舌は 小さな 器官ですが， 大言壯語するのです． 御覽なさい． どんなに 小さな 火でも 大きい 森を 燃やしてしまう．
  1. My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.
  2. For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.
  3. Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body.
  4. Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.
  5. Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!
  1. 舌は 火です． 舌は「不義の 世界 」です． わたしたちの 體の 器官の 一つで， 全身を 汚し， 移り 變わる 人生を 燒き 盡くし， 自らも 地獄の 火によって 燃やされます．
  2. あらゆる 種類の ¿や 鳥， また 這うものや 海の 生き 物は， 人間によって 制御されていますし， これまでも 制御されてきました．
  3. しかし， 舌を 制御できる 人は 一人もいません． 舌は， 疲れを 知らない 惡で， 死をもたらす 毒に 滿ちています．
  4. わたしたちは 舌で， 父である 主を 贊美し， また， 舌で， 神にかたどって 造られた 人間を 呪います．
  5. 同じ 口から 贊美と 呪いが 出て 來るのです． わたしの 兄弟たち， このようなことがあってはなりません．
  1. And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.
  2. For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:
  3. But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
  4. Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.
  5. Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
  1. 泉の 同じ 穴から， 甘い 水と 苦い 水がわき 出るでしょうか．
  2. わたしの 兄弟たち， いちじくの 木が オリ ― ブ の 實を 結び， ぶどうの 木がいちじくの 實を 結ぶことができるでしょうか． 鹽水が 甘い 水を 作ることもできません．
  1. Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?
  2. Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.
 
  참된 지혜(3:13-3:18)    
 
  1. あなたがたの 中で， 知惠があり 分別があるのはだれか． その 人は， 知惠にふさわしい 柔和な 行いを， 立派な 生き 方によって 示しなさい．
  2. しかし， あなたがたは， 內心ねたみ 深く 利己的であるなら， 自慢したり， 眞理に 逆らってうそをついたりしてはなりません．
  3. そのような 知惠は， 上から 出たものではなく， 地上のもの， この 世のもの， 惡魔から 出たものです．
  4. ねたみや 利己心のあるところには， 混亂やあらゆる 惡い 行いがあるからです．
  5. 上から 出た 知惠は， 何よりもまず， 純眞で， 更に， 溫和で， 優しく， 從順なものです． 憐れみと 良い 實に 滿ちています． 偏見はなく， 僞善的でもありません．
  1. Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
  2. But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.
  3. This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
  4. For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
  5. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
  1. 義の 實は， 平和を 實現する 人たちによって， 平和のうちに 蒔かれるのです．
  1. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.
