- 勸めに 聞き 從い， 諭しを 受け 入れよ． 將來， 知惠を 得ることのできるように．
- 人の 心には 多くの 計らいがある． 主の 御旨のみが 實現する．
- 欲望は 人に 恥をもたらす． 貧しい 人は 欺く 者より 幸い．
- 主を 畏れれば 命を 得る． 滿ち 足りて 眠りにつき ／災難に 襲われることはない．

- A man of great wrath shall suffer punishment: for if thou deliver him, yet thou must do it again.
- Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.
- There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.
- The desire of a man is his kindness: and a poor man is better than a liar.

- 怠け 者は 鉢に 手を 突っ ¿むが ／口にその 手を 返すことすらしない．
- 不遜な 者を 打てば， 淺はかな 者は 熟慮を 得る． 聰明な 人を 懲らしめれば， 知惠を 見分ける．
- 父に 暴力を 振るい， 母を 追い 出す 者は ／辱めと 嘲りをもたらす 子．
- わが 子よ， 諭しに 聞き 從うことをやめるなら ／知識の 言葉からたちまち 迷い 出るであろう．
- ならず 者の 證人は 裁きを 侮辱し ／神に 逆らう 者の 口は 惡を 呑み ¿む．

- A slothful man hideth his hand in his bosom, and will not so much as bring it to his mouth again.
- Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge.
- He that wasteth his father, and chaseth away his mother, is a son that causeth shame, and bringeth reproach.
- Cease, my son, to hear the instruction that causeth to err from the words of knowledge.
- An ungodly witness scorneth judgment: and the mouth of the wicked devoureth iniquity.
