- 「わたしは， あなたの 行いと 勞苦と 忍耐を 知っており， また， あなたが 惡者どもに 我慢できず， 自ら 使徒と 稱して 實はそうでない 者どもを 調べ， 彼らのうそを 見拔いたことも 知っている．
- あなたはよく 忍耐して， わたしの 名のために 我慢し， 疲れ 果てることがなかった．
- しかし， あなたに 言うべきことがある． あなたは 初めのころの 愛から 離れてしまった．
- だから， どこから 落ちたかを 思い 出し， 悔い 改めて 初めのころの 行いに 立ち 戾れ． もし 悔い 改めなければ， わたしはあなたのところへ 行って， あなたの 燭台をその 場所から 取りのけてしまおう．
