- イエス は 町や 村を 巡って 敎えながら， エルサレム へ 向かって 進んでおられた．
- すると， 「主よ， 救われる 者は 少ないのでしょうか 」と 言う 人がいた． イエス は 一同に 言われた．
- 「狹い 戶口から 入るように 努めなさい． 言っておくが， 入ろうとしても 入れない 人が 多いのだ．
- 家の 主人が 立ち 上がって， 戶を 閉めてしまってからでは， あなたがたが 外に 立って 戶をたたき， 『御主人樣， 開けてください 』と 言っても， 『お 前たちがどこの 者か 知らない 』という 答えが 返ってくるだけである．
- そのとき， あなたがたは， 『御一緖に 食べたり 飮んだりしましたし， また， わたしたちの 廣場でお 敎えを 受けたのです 』と 言いだすだろう．

- And He was passing through from one city and village to another, teaching, and proceeding on His way to Jerusalem.
- And someone said to Him, "Lord, are there just a few who are being saved?" And He said to them,
- "Strive to enter through the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able.
- "Once the head of the house gets up and shuts the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock on the door, saying, 'Lord, open up to us!' then He will answer and say to you, 'I do not know where you are from.'
- "Then you will begin to say, 'We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets';

- しかし 主人は， 『お 前たちがどこの 者か 知らない． 不義を 行う 者ども， 皆わたしから 立ち 去れ 』と 言うだろう．
- あなたがたは， アブラハム ， イサク ， ヤコブ やすべての 預言者たちが 神の 國に 入っているのに， 自分は 外に 投げ 出されることになり， そこで 泣きわめいて 齒ぎしりする．
- そして 人¿は， 東から 西から， また 南から 北から 來て， 神の 國で 宴會の 席に 着く．
- そこでは， 後の 人で 先になる 者があり， 先の 人で 後になる 者もある． 」
- ちょうどそのとき， ファリサイ 派の 人¿が 何人か 近寄って 來て， イエス に 言った． 「ここを 立ち 去ってください． ヘロデ があなたを 殺そうとしています． 」

- and He will say, 'I tell you, I do not know where you are from; DEPART FROM ME, ALL YOU EVILDOERS.'
- "In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but yourselves being thrown out.
- "And they will come from east and west and from north and south, and will recline at the table in the kingdom of God.
- "And behold, some are last who will be first and some are first who will be last."
- Just at that time some Pharisees approached, saying to Him, "Go away, leave here, for Herod wants to kill You."

- イエス は 言われた． 「行って， あの 狐に， 『今日も 明日も， 惡靈を 追い 出し， 病氣をいやし， 三日目にすべてを 終える 』とわたしが 言ったと 傳えなさい．
- だが， わたしは 今日も 明日も， その 次の 日も 自分の 道を 進まねばならない． 預言者が エルサレム 以外の 所で 死ぬことは， ありえないからだ．
- エルサレム ， エルサレム ， 預言者たちを 殺し， 自分に 遣わされた 人¿を 石で 打ち 殺す 者よ， めん 鳥が 雛を 羽の 下に 集めるように， わたしはお 前の 子らを 何度集めようとしたことか． だが， お 前たちは 應じようとしなかった．
- 見よ， お 前たちの 家は 見捨てられる． 言っておくが， お 前たちは， 『主の 名によって 來られる 方に， 祝福があるように 』と 言う 時が 來るまで， 決してわたしを 見ることがない． 」

- And He said to them, "Go and tell that fox, 'Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I reach My goal.'
- "Nevertheless I must journey on today and tomorrow and the next day; for it cannot be that a prophet would perish outside of Jerusalem.
- "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, just as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you would not have it!
- "Behold, your house is left to you desolate; and I say to you, you will not see Me until the time comes when you say, 'BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD!'"
