- イエス は， 氣を 落とさずに 絶えず 祈らなければならないことを 敎えるために， 弟子たちにたとえを 話された．
- 「ある 町に， 神を 畏れず 人を 人とも 思わない 裁判官がいた．
- ところが， その 町に 一人のやもめがいて， 裁判官のところに 來ては， 『相手を 裁いて， わたしを 守ってください 』と 言っていた．
- 裁判官は， しばらくの 間は 取り 合おうとしなかった． しかし， その 後に 考えた． 『自分は 神など 畏れないし， 人を 人とも 思わない．
- しかし， あのやもめは， うるさくてかなわないから， 彼女のために 裁判をしてやろう． さもないと， ひっきりなしにやって 來て， わたしをさんざんな 目に 遭わすにちがいない． 』」

- Now He was telling them a parable to show that at all times they ought to pray and not to lose heart,
- saying, "In a certain city there was a judge who did not fear God and did not respect man.
- "There was a widow in that city, and she kept coming to him, saying, 'Give me legal protection from my opponent.'
- "For a while he was unwilling; but afterward he said to himself, 'Even though I do not fear God nor respect man,
- yet because this widow bothers me, I will give her legal protection, otherwise by continually coming she will wear me out.'"

- それから， 主は 言われた． 「この 不正な 裁判官の 言いぐさを 聞きなさい．
- まして 神は， ¿も 夜も 叫び 求めている 選ばれた 人たちのために 裁きを 行わずに， 彼らをいつまでもほうっておかれることがあろうか．
- 言っておくが， 神は 速やかに 裁いてくださる． しかし， 人の 子が 來るとき， 果たして 地上に 信仰を 見いだすだろうか． 」
- 自分は 正しい 人間だとうぬぼれて， 他人を 見下している 人¿に 對しても， イエス は 次のたとえを 話された．
- 「二人の 人が 祈るために 神殿に 上った． 一人は ファリサイ 派の 人で， もう 一人は 徵稅人だった．

- And the Lord said, "Hear what the unrighteous judge said;
- now, will not God bring about justice for His elect who cry to Him day and night, and will He delay long over them?
- "I tell you that He will bring about justice for them quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?"
- And He also told this parable to some people who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and viewed others with contempt:
- "Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.

- ファリサイ 派の 人は 立って， 心の 中でこのように 祈った． 『神樣， わたしはほかの 人たちのように， 奪い 取る 者， 不正な 者， 姦通を 犯す 者でなく， また， この 徵稅人のような 者でもないことを 感謝します．
- わたしは 週に 二度斷食し， 全收入の 十分の 一を 獻げています． 』
- ところが， 徵稅人は 遠くに 立って， 目を 天に 上げようともせず， 胸を 打ちながら 言った． 『神樣， 罪人のわたしを 憐れんでください． 』
- 言っておくが， 義とされて 家に 歸ったのは， この 人であって， あの ファリサイ 派の 人ではない． だれでも 高ぶる 者は 低くされ， へりくだる 者は 高められる． 」
- イエス に 觸れていただくために， 人¿は 乳飮み 子までも 連れて 來た． 弟子たちは， これを 見て 叱った．

- "The Pharisee stood and was praying this to himself: 'God, I thank You that I am not like other people: swindlers, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.
- 'I fast twice a week; I pay tithes of all that I get.'
- "But the tax collector, standing some distance away, was even unwilling to lift up his eyes to heaven, but was beating his breast, saying, 'God, be merciful to me, the sinner!'
- "I tell you, this man went to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted."
- And they were bringing even their babies to Him so that He would touch them, but when the disciples saw it, they began rebuking them.

- しかし， イエス は 乳飮み 子たちを 呼び 寄せて 言われた． 「子供たちをわたしのところに 來させなさい． 妨げてはならない． 神の 國はこのような 者たちのものである．
- はっきり 言っておく． 子供のように 神の 國を 受け 入れる 人でなければ， 決してそこに 入ることはできない． 」

- But Jesus called for them, saying, "Permit the children to come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
- "Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it at all."
