- その 後， イエス は ガリラヤ 湖， すなわち ティベリアス 湖の 向こう 岸に 渡られた．
- 大勢の 群衆が 後を 追った． イエス が 病人たちになさったしるしを 見たからである．
- イエス は 山に 登り， 弟子たちと 一緖にそこにお 座りになった．
- ユダヤ 人の 祭りである 過越祭が 近づいていた．
- イエス は 目を 上げ， 大勢の 群衆が 御自分の 方へ 來るのを 見て， フィリポ に， 「この 人たちに 食べさせるには， どこで パン を 買えばよいだろうか 」と 言われたが，

- After these things Jesus went away to the other side of the Sea of Galilee (or Tiberias).
- A large crowd followed Him, because they saw the signs which He was performing on those who were sick.
- Then Jesus went up on the mountain, and there He sat down with His disciples.
- Now the Passover, the feast of the Jews, was near.
- Therefore Jesus, lifting up His eyes and seeing that a large crowd was coming to Him, said to Philip, "Where are we to buy bread, so that these may eat?"

- こう 言ったのは フィリポ を 試みるためであって， 御自分では 何をしようとしているか 知っておられたのである．
- フィリポ は， 「めいめいが 少しずつ 食べるためにも， 二百 デナリオン 分の パン では 足りないでしょう 」と 答えた．
- 弟子の 一人で， シモン · ペトロ の 兄弟 アンデレ が， イエス に 言った．
- 「ここに 大麥の パン 五つと 魚二匹とを 持っている 少年がいます． けれども， こんなに 大勢の 人では， 何の 役にも 立たないでしょう． 」
- イエス は， 「人¿を 座らせなさい 」と 言われた． そこには 草がたくさん 生えていた． 男たちはそこに 座ったが， その 數はおよそ 五千人であった．

- This He was saying to test him, for He Himself knew what He was intending to do.
- Philip answered Him, "Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not sufficient for them, for everyone to receive a little."
- One of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, said to Him,
- "There is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what are these for so many people?"
- Jesus said, "Have the people sit down." Now there was much grass in the place So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.

- さて， イエス は パン を 取り， 感謝の 祈りを 唱えてから， 座っている 人¿に 分け 與えられた． また， 魚も 同じようにして， 欲しいだけ 分け 與えられた．
- 人¿が 滿腹したとき， イエス は 弟子たちに， 「少しも 無馱にならないように， 殘った パン の 屑を 集めなさい 」と 言われた．
- 集めると， 人¿が 五つの 大麥 パン を 食べて， なお 殘った パン の 屑で， 十二の ζ がいっぱいになった．
- そこで， 人¿は イエス のなさったしるしを 見て， 「まさにこの 人こそ， 世に 來られる 預言者である 」と 言った．
- イエス は， 人¿が 來て， 自分を 王にするために 連れて 行こうとしているのを 知り， ひとりでまた 山に 退かれた．

- Jesus then took the loaves, and having given thanks, He distributed to those who were seated; likewise also of the fish as much as they wanted.
- When they were filled, He said to His disciples, "Gather up the leftover fragments so that nothing will be lost."
- So they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with fragments from the five barley loaves which were left over by those who had eaten.
- Therefore when the people saw the sign which He had performed, they said, "This is truly the Prophet who is to come into the world."
- So Jesus, perceiving that they were intending to come and take Him by force to make Him king, withdrew again to the mountain by Himself alone.

- 夕方になったので， 弟子たちは 湖畔へ 下りて 行った．
- そして， 舟に 乘り， 湖の 向こう 岸の カファルナウム に 行こうとした． 旣に 暗くなっていたが， イエス はまだ 彼らのところには 來ておられなかった．
- 强い 風が 吹いて， 湖は 荒れ 始めた．
- 二十五ないし 三十 スタディオン ばかり 漕ぎ 出したころ， イエス が 湖の 上を 步いて 舟に 近づいて 來られるのを 見て， 彼らは 恐れた．
- イエス は 言われた． 「わたしだ． 恐れることはない． 」

- Now when evening came, His disciples went down to the sea,
- and after getting into a boat, they started to cross the sea to Capernaum. It had already become dark, and Jesus had not yet come to them.
- The sea began to be stirred up because a strong wind was blowing.
- Then, when they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and drawing near to the boat; and they were frightened.
- But He said to them, "It is I; do not be afraid."

- そこで， 彼らは イエス を 舟に 迎え 入れようとした． すると 間もなく， 舟は 目指す 地に 着いた．

- So they were willing to receive Him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land to which they were going.
