- 老人となり， 長壽に 惠まれた ダビデ は， その 子 ソロモン を イスラエル の 王とし，
- イスラエル の 全高官， 祭司， レビ 人を 呼び 集めた．
- 三十歲以上の レビ 人を 數えたところ， その 男子の 數は， 三万八千人であった．
- そのうち， 二万四千人は 主の 神殿における 務めを 指揮する 者に， 六千人は 役人と 裁判官に，
- 四千人は 門衛に， 四千人は， ダビデ が 贊美するために 作った 樂器を 奏でて， 主を 贊美する 者になった．

- Now when David reached old age, he made his son Solomon king over Israel.
- And he gathered together all the leaders of Israel with the priests and the Levites.
- The Levites were numbered from thirty years old and upward, and their number by census of men was 38,000.
- Of these, 24,000 were to oversee the work of the house of the LORD; and 6,000 were officers and judges,
- and 4,000 were gatekeepers, and 4,000 were praising the LORD with the instruments which David made for giving praise.

- ダビデ は レビ 人を レビ の 子 ゲルション ， ケハト ， メラリ の 組に 分けた．
- ゲルション の 組に 屬したのは ラダン と シムイ ．
- ラダン の 子らは エヒエル を 頭として， ゼタム ， ヨエル の 三人．
- シムイ の 子らは シェロモト ， ハジエル ， ハラン の 三人． 彼らは ラダン の 家系の 長であった．
- シムイ の 子らは ヤハト ， ジナ ， エウシュ ， ベリア ． これら 四人が シムイ の 子であった．

- David divided them into divisions according to the sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
- Of the Gershonites were Ladan and Shimei.
- The sons of Ladan were Jehiel the first and Zetham and Joel, three.
- The sons of Shimei were Shelomoth and Haziel and Haran, three. These were the heads of the fathers' households of Ladan.
- The sons of Shimei were Jahath, Zina, Jeush and Beriah. These four were the sons of Shimei.

- ヤハト を 頭として ジザ が 次男であった． エウシュ と ベリア は， 多くの 子には 惠まれなかったので， 一つの 家系として 登錄された．
- ケハト の 子らは アムラム ， イツハル ， ヘブロン ， ウジエル の 四人．
- アムラム の 子らは アロン と モ ― セ ． アロン は， その 子らと 共に 選び 分けられ， 神聖なる 物をとこしえに 聖別し， 主の 御前で 香をたき， 主に 仕え， 主の 御名によってとこしえに 祝福する 者となった．
- モ ― セ は 神の 人であり， その 子らは レビ の 部族という 名を 受けた．
- モ ― セ の 子らは ゲルショム と エリエゼル ．

- Jahath was the first and Zizah the second; but Jeush and Beriah did not have many sons, so they became a father's household, one class.
- The sons of Kohath were four: Amram, Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel.
- The sons of Amram were Aaron and Moses And Aaron was set apart to sanctify him as most holy, he and his sons forever, to burn incense before the LORD, to minister to Him and to bless in His name forever.
- But as for Moses the man of God, his sons were named among the tribe of Levi.
- The sons of Moses were Gershom and Eliezer.

- エリエゼル の 子らは， レハブヤ が 頭． エリエゼル にはほかに 子がなかったが， レハブヤ の 子らは 非常に 多かった．
- イツハル の 子らは， シェロミト が 頭．
- ヘブロン の 子らは エリヤ を 頭として， 次男が アマルヤ ， 三男が ヤハジエル ， 四男が エカムアム ．
- ウジエル の 子らは ミカ を 頭として， 次男が イシヤ ．

- The son of Gershom was Shebuel the chief.
- The son of Eliezer was Rehabiah the chief; and Eliezer had no other sons, but the sons of Rehabiah were very many.
- The son of Izhar was Shelomith the chief.
- The sons of Hebron were Jeriah the first, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third and Jekameam the fourth.
- The sons of Uzziel were Micah the first and Isshiah the second.

- メラリ の 子らは マフリ と ムシ ． マフリ の 子らは エルアザル と キシュ ．
- エルアザル は 息子がないまま 死んだが， 娘たちがいて， 彼らの 兄弟たち， キシュ の 子らが 彼女たちをめとった．
- ムシ の 子らは マフリ ， エデル ， エレモト の 三人．
- 以上がその 家系による レビ の 子ら， すなわち 一人一人名を 擧げて 數えられ， 登錄された 家系の 長で， 主の 神殿の 奉仕を 職務とする 二十歲以上の 者であった．
- ダビデ は 言った． 「イスラエル の 神， 主はその 民に 安らぎを 與え， とこしえに エルサレム にお 住まいになる．

- The sons of Merari were Mahli and Mushi. The sons of Mahli were Eleazar and Kish.
- Eleazar died and had no sons, but daughters only, so their brothers, the sons of Kish, took them as wives.
- The sons of Mushi were three: Mahli, Eder and Jeremoth.
- These were the sons of Levi according to their fathers' households, even the heads of the fathers' households of those of them who were counted, in the number of names by their census, doing the work for the service of the house of the LORD, from twenty years old and upward.
- For David said, "The LORD God of Israel has given rest to His people, and He dwells in Jerusalem forever.

- レビ 人はもはや 幕屋とその 奉仕に 用いるすべての 祭具を 擔ぐ 必要がない． 」
- これが ダビデ の 最後の 言葉によって 數え 上げられた 二十歲以上の レビ 人であり，
- 彼らは アロン の 子らの 傍らで 主の 神殿の 奉仕に 就き， 庭のこと， 祭司室のこと， すべての 聖なる 物を 淸めることの 責任を 負うこととなった． 彼らは 神殿の 奉仕に 從事し，
- 供え 物の パン ， 穀物の 獻げ 物用の 小麥粉， 酵母を 入れない 薄燒き パン ， 鐵板， 混ぜ 合わせた 小麥粉， すべての 量と 大きさについても 責任を 負った．
- 更に 彼らは， 每朝主に 感謝し， 贊美し， 夕べにも 同樣に 行うこと，

- "Also, the Levites will no longer need to carry the tabernacle and all its utensils for its service."
- For by the last words of David the sons of Levi were numbered from twenty years old and upward.
- For their office is to assist the sons of Aaron with the service of the house of the LORD, in the courts and in the chambers and in the purifying of all holy things, even the work of the service of the house of God,
- and with the showbread, and the fine flour for a grain offering, and unleavened wafers, or what is baked in the pan or what is well-mixed, and all measures of volume and size.
- They are to stand every morning to thank and to praise the LORD, and likewise at evening,

- また 安息日， 新月祭， および 祝祭日には， 定められた 數を 守って 常に 主の 御前にささげる， 主への 燒き 盡くす 獻げ 物すべてについても 責任を 負った．
- 彼らは， 主の 神殿の 奉仕に 際して， 臨在の 幕屋の 務めと 聖所の 務めと 彼らの 兄弟 アロン の 子らの 務めを 果たした．

- and to offer all burnt offerings to the LORD, on the sabbaths, the new moons and the fixed festivals in the number set by the ordinance concerning them, continually before the LORD.
- Thus they are to keep charge of the tent of meeting, and charge of the holy place, and charge of the sons of Aaron their relatives, for the service of the house of the LORD.
