- たとえ， 人¿の 異言， 天使たちの 異言を 語ろうとも， 愛がなければ， わたしは ¿がしいどら， やかましい シンバル ．
- たとえ， 預言する 賜物を 持ち， あらゆる 神秘とあらゆる 知識に 通じていようとも， たとえ， 山を 動かすほどの 完全な 信仰を 持っていようとも， 愛がなければ， 無に 等しい．
- 全財産を 貧しい 人¿のために 使い 盡くそうとも， 誇ろうとしてわが 身を 死に 引き 渡そうとも， 愛がなければ， わたしに 何の 益もない．
- 愛は 忍耐强い． 愛は 情け 深い． ねたまない． 愛は 自慢せず， 高ぶらない．
- 禮を 失せず， 自分の 利益を 求めず， いらだたず， 恨みを 抱かない．

- If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
- If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
- And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing.
- Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant,
- does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered,

- 不義を 喜ばず， 眞實を 喜ぶ．
- すべてを 忍び， すべてを 信じ， すべてを 望み， すべてに 耐える．
- 愛は 決して 滅びない． 預言は 廢れ， 異言はやみ， 知識は 廢れよう，
- わたしたちの 知識は 一部分， 預言も 一部分だから．
- 完全なものが 來たときには， 部分的なものは 廢れよう．

- does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;
- bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
- Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away.
- For we know in part and we prophesy in part;
- but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away.

- 幼子だったとき， わたしは 幼子のように 話し， 幼子のように 思い， 幼子のように 考えていた． 成人した 今， 幼子のことを 棄てた．
- わたしたちは， 今は， 鏡におぼろに 映ったものを 見ている． だがそのときには， 顔と 顔とを 合わせて 見ることになる． わたしは， 今は 一部しか 知らなくとも， そのときには， はっきり 知られているようにはっきり 知ることになる．
- それゆえ， 信仰と， 希望と， 愛， この 三つは， いつまでも 殘る． その 中で 最も 大いなるものは， 愛である．

- When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things.
- For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known.
- But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love.
