- とはいえ， 肉にも 賴ろうと 思えば， わたしは 賴れなくはない． だれかほかに， 肉に 賴れると 思う 人がいるなら， わたしはなおさらのことです．
- わたしは 生まれて 八日目に 割禮を 受け， イスラエル の 民に 屬し， ベニヤミン 族の 出身で， ヘブライ 人の 中の ヘブライ 人です． 律法に 關しては ファリサイ 派の 一員，
- 熱心さの 点では 敎會の 迫害者， 律法の 義については 非のうちどころのない 者でした．
- しかし， わたしにとって 有利であったこれらのことを， キリスト のゆえに 損失と 見なすようになったのです．
- そればかりか， わたしの 主 キリスト · イエス を 知ることのあまりのすばらしさに， 今では 他の 一切を 損失とみています． キリスト のゆえに， わたしはすべてを 失いましたが， それらを 塵あくたと 見なしています． キリスト を 得，

- although I myself might have confidence even in the flesh. If anyone else has a mind to put confidence in the flesh, I far more:
- circumcised the eighth day, of the nation of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; as to the Law, a Pharisee;
- as to zeal, a persecutor of the church; as to the righteousness which is in the Law, found blameless.
- But whatever things were gain to me, those things I have counted as loss for the sake of Christ.
- More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ,

- キリスト の 內にいる 者と 認められるためです． わたしには， 律法から 生じる 自分の 義ではなく， キリスト への 信仰による 義， 信仰に 基づいて 神から 與えられる 義があります．
- わたしは， キリスト とその 復活の 力とを 知り， その 苦しみにあずかって， その 死の 姿にあやかりながら，
- 何とかして 死者の 中からの 復活に 達したいのです．
- わたしは， 旣にそれを 得たというわけではなく， 旣に 完全な 者となっているわけでもありません． 何とかして 捕らえようと 努めているのです． 自分が キリスト · イエス に 捕らえられているからです．
- 兄弟たち， わたし 自身は 旣に 捕らえたとは 思っていません． なすべきことはただ 一つ， 後ろのものを 忘れ， 前のものに 全身を 向けつつ，

- and may be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own derived from the Law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which comes from God on the basis of faith,
- that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death;
- in order that I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.
- Not that I have already obtained it or have already become perfect, but I press on so that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus.
- Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead,

- 神が キリスト · イエス によって 上へ 召して， お 與えになる 賞を 得るために， 目標を 目指してひたすら 走ることです．
- だから， わたしたちの 中で 完全な 者はだれでも， このように 考えるべきです． しかし， あなたがたに 何か 別の 考えがあるなら， 神はそのことをも 明らかにしてくださいます．
- いずれにせよ， わたしたちは 到達したところに 基づいて 進むべきです．
- 兄弟たち， 皆一緖にわたしに 倣う 者となりなさい． また， あなたがたと 同じように， わたしたちを 模範として 步んでいる 人¿に 目を 向けなさい．
- 何度も 言ってきたし， 今また 淚ながらに 言いますが， キリスト の 十字架に 敵對して 步んでいる 者が 多いのです．

- I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
- Let us therefore, as many as are perfect, have this attitude; and if in anything you have a different attitude, God will reveal that also to you;
- however, let us keep living by that same standard to which we have attained.
- Brethren, join in following my example, and observe those who walk according to the pattern you have in us.
- For many walk, of whom I often told you, and now tell you even weeping, that they are enemies of the cross of Christ,

- 彼らの 行き 着くところは 滅びです． 彼らは 腹を 神とし， 恥ずべきものを 誇りとし， この 世のことしか 考えていません．
- しかし， わたしたちの 本國は 天にあります． そこから 主 イエス · キリスト が 救い 主として 來られるのを， わたしたちは 待っています．
- キリスト は， 万物を 支配下に 置くことさえできる 力によって， わたしたちの 卑しい 體を， 御自分の 榮光ある 體と 同じ 形に 變えてくださるのです．

- whose end is destruction, whose god is their appetite, and whose glory is in their shame, who set their minds on earthly things.
- For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ;
- who will transform the body of our humble state into conformity with the body of His glory, by the exertion of the power that He has even to subject all things to Himself.
