- バビロン に 向かって． カルデア 人の 國に 向かって． 主が 預言者 エレミヤ を 通して 語られた 言葉．
- 告げ 知らせよ， 諸國民に． 布告せよ ／旗を 揭げて 布告せよ． 隱すことなく 言え． バビロン は 陷落し， ベル は 辱められた． マルドゥク は ¿かれ， その 像は 辱められ ／偶像は ¿かれた．
- 一つの 國が 北から バビロン に 向かって 攻め 上り ／ バビロン の 國を 荒廢させる． そこに 住む 者はいなくなる． 人も 動物も 皆， 逃れ 去る．
- その 日， その 時には， と 主は 言われる． イスラエル の 人¿が 來る ／ ユダ の 人¿も 共に． 彼らは 泣きながら 來て ／彼らの 神， 主を 尋ね 求める．
- 彼らは シオン への 道を 尋ね ／顔をそちらに 向けて 言う． 「さあ， 行こう 」と． 彼らは 主に 結びつき ／永遠の 契約が 忘れられることはない．

- The word which the LORD spoke concerning Babylon, the land of the Chaldeans, through Jeremiah the prophet:
- "Declare and proclaim among the nations Proclaim it and lift up a standard Do not conceal it but say, 'Babylon has been captured, Bel has been put to shame, Marduk has been shattered; Her images have been put to shame, her idols have been shattered.'
- "For a nation has come up against her out of the north; it will make her land an object of horror, and there will be no inhabitant in it. Both man and beast have wandered off, they have gone away!
- "In those days and at that time," declares the LORD, "the sons of Israel will come, both they and the sons of Judah as well; they will go along weeping as they go, and it will be the LORD their God they will seek.
- "They will ask for the way to Zion, turning their faces in its direction; they will come that they may join themselves to the LORD in an everlasting covenant that will not be forgotten.

- わが 民は 迷える 羊の 群れ． 羊飼いたちが 彼らを 迷わせ ／山の 中を 行き 巡らせた． 彼らは 山から 丘へと 步き 回り ／自分の 憩う 場所を 忘れた．
- 彼らを 見つける 者は， 彼らを 食らった． 敵は 言った． 「我¿に 罪はない． 彼らが， まことの 牧場である 主に ／先祖の 希望であった 主に 罪を 犯したからだ 」と．
- 逃れよ， バビロン の 中から． カルデア 人の 國から 出よ ／群れの 先頭を 行く 雄羊のように．
- 見よ， わたしは ／大いなる 國¿の 一團を 奮い 起こし ／ バビロン に 向かって， 北の 國から 攻め 上らせる． 彼らは バビロン に 對して 陣を 敷き， 攻め 落とす． 彼らの 矢は 練達の 勇士のようだ． 決して 空しく 歸ることはない．
- カルデア 人は 略奪される． 略奪する 者は 皆， 飽き 足りる， と 主は 言われる．

- "My people have become lost sheep; Their shepherds have led them astray They have made them turn aside on the mountains; They have gone along from mountain to hill And have forgotten their resting place.
- "All who came upon them have devoured them; And their adversaries have said, 'We are not guilty, Inasmuch as they have sinned against the LORD who is the habitation of righteousness, Even the LORD, the hope of their fathers.'
- "Wander away from the midst of Babylon And go forth from the land of the Chaldeans; Be also like male goats at the head of the flock.
- "For behold, I am going to arouse and bring up against Babylon A horde of great nations from the land of the north, And they will draw up their battle lines against her; From there she will be taken captive. Their arrows will be like an expert warrior Who does not return empty-handed.
- "Chaldea will become plunder; All who plunder her will have enough," declares the LORD.

- わたしの 嗣業を 奪う 者らよ． お 前たちは 喜び 樂しみ ／打穀する 若い 雌牛のように 跳びはね ／荒馬のようにいなないているが
- お 前たちの 母， 産みの 親である バビロン は ／うろたえ， 恥を 受ける． 見よ， 國¿の 最後のものである バビロン は ／乾いた 荒れ 野， 荒れ 地となる．
- 主の 憤りによって， 住む 者はいなくなり ／すべてが 廢虛となり ／ バビロン のそばを 通る 者は 皆， 恐れ ／その 破壞を 見て 嘲る．
- 弓を 射る 者らよ ／ バビロン を 圍んで 陣を 敷け． バビロン に 向かって 射かけよ． 矢を 惜しんではならない． バビロン は 主に 罪を 犯したからだ．
- バビロン を 圍んで 勘の 聲をあげよ． 彼らは 降伏した． 砦は 倒れ， 城壁は 破壞された． これこそ 主の 復讐だ． バビロン に 復讐せよ． バビロン がしたとおりにしてやるがよい．

- "Because you are glad, because you are jubilant, O you who pillage My heritage, Because you skip about like a threshing heifer And neigh like stallions,
- Your mother will be greatly ashamed, She who gave you birth will be humiliated Behold, she will be the least of the nations, A wilderness, a parched land and a desert.
- "Because of the indignation of the LORD she will not be inhabited, But she will be completely desolate; Everyone who passes by Babylon will be horrified And will hiss because of all her wounds.
- "Draw up your battle lines against Babylon on every side, All you who bend the bow; Shoot at her, do not be sparing with your arrows, For she has sinned against the LORD.
- "Raise your battle cry against her on every side! She has given herself up, her pillars have fallen, Her walls have been torn down For this is the vengeance of the LORD: Take vengeance on her; As she has done to others, so do to her.

- バビロン から 斷て ／種蒔く 人と， 刈り 入れのときに 鎌を 振るう 人を． 人¿は 滅ぼす 者の 劍を 逃れて ／おのおの 自分の 民のもとへ 歸り ／故鄕を 目指して 逃げる．
- イスラエル は 獅子に 追われてちりぢりになった 羊． 先には アッシリア の 王が 食らい， 今度は バビロン の 王 ネブカドレツァル が 骨を ¿いた．
- それゆえ， イスラエル の 神， 万軍の 主はこう 言われる． 見よ， かつて アッシリア の 王を 罰したように， 今， わたしは バビロン の 王とその 國を 罰する．
- そして， イスラエル を 元の 牧場に 連れ 戾す． イスラエル は カルメル と バシャン で 草をはみ， エフライム と ギレアド の 山で 心ゆくまで 食べる．
- その 日， その 時には， と 主は 言われる． イスラエル の 咎を 探しても 見當たらず， ユダ の 罪も 見いだされない． わたしが， 生き 殘らせる 人¿の 罪を 赦すからである．

- "Cut off the sower from Babylon And the one who wields the sickle at the time of harvest; From before the sword of the oppressor They will each turn back to his own people And they will each flee to his own land.
- "Israel is a scattered flock, the lions have driven them away The first one who devoured him was the king of Assyria, and this last one who has broken his bones is Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.
- "Therefore thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: 'Behold, I am going to punish the king of Babylon and his land, just as I punished the king of Assyria.
- 'And I will bring Israel back to his pasture and he will graze on Carmel and Bashan, and his desire will be satisfied in the hill country of Ephraim and Gilead.
- 'In those days and at that time,' declares the LORD, 'search will be made for the iniquity of Israel, but there will be none; and for the sins of Judah, but they will not be found; for I will pardon those whom I leave as a remnant.'

- メラタイム の 地に 向かえ． そこに 向かって 攻め 上れ． ペコド の 住民に 向かえ． 彼らを 劍にかけ， 殘ったものを 滅ぼし 盡くせと ／主は 言われる． わたしがお 前に 命じたとおりすべて 行え．
- その 地に 戰いのとどろきと ／大きな 破壞が 起こる．
- 全世界を ¿いた 槌が， 今や 折られ ¿かれる． バビロン は 諸國民の 間で 恐怖の 的となる．
- バビロン よ， わたしはお 前に ┼を 仕掛け ／お 前は 捕らえられた． お 前は 知らずにいたが ／見つけられ， 捕らえられた． お 前が 主と 爭ったからだ．
- 主は 倉を 開いて ／怒りの 武器を 取り 出された． これこそ， カルデア 人の 國で 行われる ／万軍の 主なる 神の 御業だ．

- "Against the land of Merathaim, go up against it, And against the inhabitants of Pekod. Slay and utterly destroy them," declares the LORD, "And do according to all that I have commanded you.
- "The noise of battle is in the land, And great destruction.
- "How the hammer of the whole earth Has been cut off and broken! How Babylon has become An object of horror among the nations!
- "I set a snare for you and you were also caught, O Babylon, While you yourself were not aware; You have been found and also seized Because you have engaged in conflict with the LORD."
- The LORD has opened His armory And has brought forth the weapons of His indignation, For it is a work of the Lord GOD of hosts In the land of the Chaldeans.

- バビロン に 向かって 四方から 攻めよ． その 穀物の 倉を 開いて， 山のように 積み 上げ ／ バビロン を 滅ぼし 盡くせ． 何も 殘してはならない．
- バビロン の 雄牛を 殘らず 劍にかけよ． 彼らを 屠り 場に 追い ¿め． 彼らは 災いだ． 彼らの 日， 彼らの 罰せられる 時が 來た．
- バビロン の 國を 逃れ ／脫出した 人¿の 聲がする． 彼らは シオン で 我¿の 神， 主の 復讐を 告げる ／主の 神殿の 復讐を．
- バビロン に 向かって， 射手を 呼び 集めよ ／すべて 弓を 射る 者を． バビロン を 圍んで 陣を 敷け ／ひとりも 逃してはならない． その 仕業に 從って 報復し ／行ったすべてのことに 從って， 仕返しするがよい． 彼女は 主に 向かい ／ イスラエル の 聖なる 方に 向かって ／傲慢にふるまったからだ．
- それゆえ， その 日には， バビロン の 若者たちは 廣場で 倒れ， 兵士は 皆， 息絶えて 靜かになる， と 主は 言われる．

- Come to her from the farthest border; Open up her barns, Pile her up like heaps And utterly destroy her, Let nothing be left to her.
- Put all her young bulls to the sword; Let them go down to the slaughter! Woe be upon them, for their day has come, The time of their punishment.
- There is a sound of fugitives and refugees from the land of Babylon, To declare in Zion the vengeance of the LORD our God, Vengeance for His temple.
- "Summon many against Babylon, All those who bend the bow: Encamp against her on every side, Let there be no escape. Repay her according to her work; According to all that she has done, so do to her; For she has become arrogant against the LORD, Against the Holy One of Israel.
- "Therefore her young men will fall in her streets, And all her men of war will be silenced in that day," declares the LORD.

- 傲慢な 者よ． 見よ， わたしはお 前に 立ち 向かうと ／万軍の 主なる 神は 言われる． お 前の 日， わたしがお 前を 罰する 時が 來た．
- 傲慢な 者はよろめき 倒れ ／助け 起こす 者はいない． わたしはその 町¿に 火をつけ ／火は 周圍のすべてのものをなめ 盡くす．
- 万軍の 主はこう 言われる． イスラエル の 民は 虐げられている ／ ユダ の 民も 共に． 彼らをとりこにしている 者たちは 皆 ／彼らを 抑えつけ， 解き 放つことを 拒んでいる．
- 彼らを ·われる 方は 强い． その 御名は 万軍の 主． 主は 必ず 彼らの 訴えを 取り 上げ ／ バビロン の 國を ¿り 動かし ／その 住民を 亂される．
- 劍が カルデア 人の 上に 臨む， と 主は 言われる． バビロン の 住民の 上に ／その 貴族， 知者たちの 上に．

- "Behold, I am against you, O arrogant one," Declares the Lord GOD of hosts, "For your day has come, The time when I will punish you.
- "The arrogant one will stumble and fall With no one to raise him up; And I will set fire to his cities And it will devour all his environs."
- Thus says the LORD of hosts, "The sons of Israel are oppressed, And the sons of Judah as well; And all who took them captive have held them fast, They have refused to let them go.
- "Their Redeemer is strong, the LORD of hosts is His name; He will vigorously plead their case So that He may bring rest to the earth, But turmoil to the inhabitants of Babylon.
- "A sword against the Chaldeans," declares the LORD, "And against the inhabitants of Babylon And against her officials and her wise men!

- 劍が 大言壯語する 者らに 臨み ／彼らは 笑いものになる． 劍が 勇士たちに 臨み， 彼らは ¿かれる．
- 劍が 軍馬と 戰車に ／また， バビロン の 雜多な 傭兵に 臨み ／彼らは 女のように 弱くなる． 劍が 寶の 倉に 臨み， 倉はかすめられる．
- 日照りが バビロン の 水に 臨み， 水は 干上がる． バビロン は 偶像の 國で ／おぞましいものに 狂っているからだ．
- それゆえ， ハイエナ が ジャッカル と 共に 住み ／喚鳥がそこに 住み 着く． そこに 住む 者は， もはや 永久にない． 宿る 者も， 世¿にわたってないであろう．
- 神が ソドム ， ゴモラ と 近隣の 町¿を ／覆されたときのように， と 主は 言われる． そこには， 人ひとり 住まず ／人が 宿ることはなくなるであろう．

- "A sword against the oracle priests, and they will become fools! A sword against her mighty men, and they will be shattered!
- "A sword against their horses and against their chariots And against all the foreigners who are in the midst of her, And they will become women! A sword against her treasures, and they will be plundered!
- "A drought on her waters, and they will be dried up! For it is a land of idols, And they are mad over fearsome idols.
- "Therefore the desert creatures will live there along with the jackals; The ostriches also will live in it, And it will never again be inhabited Or dwelt in from generation to generation.
- "As when God overthrew Sodom And Gomorrah with its neighbors," declares the LORD, "No man will live there, Nor will any son of man reside in it.

- 見よ， 一つの 民が 北から 來る． 大いなる 國， 多くの 王が ／地の 果てから 奮い 立って 來る．
- 彼らは 弓と 劍を 取り， 殘酷で 容赦しない． 海のとどろくような 聲をあげ， 馬を 驅り ／戰いに 備えて 武裝している ／娘 バビロン よ， お 前に 向かって．
- バビロン の 王が， その 知らせを 聞くと ／彼の 手の 力は 拔けた． 彼は 苦しみにとらえられ ／産婦のようにもだえる．
- 見よ， 獅子が ヨルダン の 森から ／綠の 牧場に 躍り 出るように ／わたしは バビロン を 襲い ／一瞬のうちに 彼らを 追い 散らし ／わたしが 選んだ 者にそこを 守らせる． 誰か， わたしのような 者がいるだろうか． 誰が， わたしを 召喚するだろうか． 羊飼いのうち 誰が， わたしに 挑むだろうか．
- それゆえ， 主が バビロン に 對して 練られた 計畵 ／ カルデア 人の 地に 對して 定められた 企てを 聞け． 羊の 群れの 幼いものまで 引きずられて 行く． 牧場はこのことのゆえに 恐れおののく．

- "Behold, a people is coming from the north, And a great nation and many kings Will be aroused from the remote parts of the earth.
- "They seize their bow and javelin; They are cruel and have no mercy Their voice roars like the sea; And they ride on horses, Marshalled like a man for the battle Against you, O daughter of Babylon.
- "The king of Babylon has heard the report about them, And his hands hang limp; Distress has gripped him, Agony like a woman in childbirth.
- "Behold, one will come up like a lion from the thicket of the Jordan to a perennially watered pasture; for in an instant I will make them run away from it, and whoever is chosen I will appoint over it For who is like Me, and who will summon Me into court? And who then is the shepherd who can stand before Me?"
- Therefore hear the plan of the LORD which He has planned against Babylon, and His purposes which He has purposed against the land of the Chaldeans: surely they will drag them off, even the little ones of the flock; surely He will make their pasture desolate because of them.

- At the shout, "Babylon has been seized!" the earth is shaken, and an outcry is heard among the nations.
