- その 日， イエス は 家を 出て， 湖のほとりにすわっておられた．
- すると， 大ぜいの 群衆がみもとに 集まったので， イエス は 舟に 移って 腰をおろされた． それで 群衆はみな 浜に 立っていた．
- イエス は 多くのことを， 彼らにたとえで 話して 聞かされた． 「種を 蒔く 人が 種蒔きに 出かけた．
- 蒔いているとき， 道ばたに 落ちた 種があった． すると 鳥が 來て 食べてしまった．
- また， 別の 種が 土の 薄い 岩地に 落ちた． 土が 深くなかったので， すぐに 芽を 出した．

- That same day Jesus went out of the house and sat by the lake.
- Such large crowds gathered around him that he got into a boat and sat in it, while all the people stood on the shore.
- Then he told them many things in parables, saying: "A farmer went out to sow his seed.
- As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up.
- Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow.

- しかし， 日が 上ると， 燒けて， 根がないために 枯れてしまった．
- また， 別の 種はいばらの 中に 落ちたが， いばらが 伸びて， ふさいでしまった．
- 別の 種は 良い 地に 落ちて， あるものは 百倍， あるものは 六十倍， あるものは 三十倍の 實を 結んだ．
- 耳のある 者は 聞きなさい． 」
- すると， 弟子たちが 近寄って 來て， イエス に 言った． 「なぜ， 彼らにたとえでお 話しになったのですか． 」

- But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root.
- Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants.
- Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop--a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.
- He who has ears, let him hear."
- The disciples came to him and asked, "Why do you speak to the people in parables?"

- イエス は 答えて 言われた． 「あなたがたには， 天の 御國の 奧義を 知ることが 許されているが， 彼らには 許されていません．
- というのは， 持っている 者はさらに 與えられて 豊かになり， 持たない 者は 持っているものまでも 取り 上げられてしまうからです．
- わたしが 彼らにたとえで 話すのは， 彼らは 見てはいるが 見ず， 聞いてはいるが 聞かず， また， 悟ることもしないからです．
- こうして イザヤ の 告げた 預言が 彼らの 上に 實現したのです． 『あなたがたは 確かに 聞きはするが， 決して 悟らない． 確かに 見てはいるが， 決してわからない．
- この 民の 心は 鈍くなり， その 耳は 遠く， 目はつぶっているからである． それは， 彼らがその 目で 見， その 耳で 聞き， その 心で 悟って 立ち 返り， わたしにいやされることのないためである． 』

- He replied, "The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them.
- Whoever has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him.
- This is why I speak to them in parables: "Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand.
- In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah: " 'You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.
- For this people's heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.'

- しかし， あなたがたの 目は 見ているから 幸いです． また， あなたがたの 耳は 聞いているから 幸いです．
- まことに， あなたがたに 告げます． 多くの 預言者や 義人たちが， あなたがたの 見ているものを 見たいと， 切に 願ったのに 見られず， あなたがたの 聞いていることを 聞きたいと， 切に 願ったのに 聞けなかったのです．
- ですから， 種蒔きのたとえを 聞きなさい．
- 御國のことばを 聞いても 悟らないと， 惡い 者が 來て， その 人の 心に 蒔かれたものを 奪って 行きます． 道ばたに 蒔かれるとは， このような 人のことです．
- また 岩地に 蒔かれるとは， みことばを 聞くと， すぐに 喜んで 受け 入れる 人のことです．

- But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.
- For I tell you the truth, many prophets and righteous men longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.
- "Listen then to what the parable of the sower means:
- When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is the seed sown along the path.
- The one who received the seed that fell on rocky places is the man who hears the word and at once receives it with joy.

- しかし， 自分のうちに 根がないため， しばらくの 間そうするだけで， みことばのために 困難や 迫害が 起こると， すぐにつまずいてしまいます．
- また， いばらの 中に 蒔かれるとは， みことばを 聞くが， この 世の 心づかいと 富の 惑わしとがみことばをふさぐため， 實を 結ばない 人のことです．
- ところが， 良い 地に 蒔かれるとは， みことばを 聞いてそれを 悟る 人のことで， その 人はほんとうに 實を 結び， あるものは 百倍， あるものは 六十倍， あるものは 三十倍の 實を 結びます． 」

- But since he has no root, he lasts only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, he quickly falls away.
- The one who received the seed that fell among the thorns is the man who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke it, making it unfruitful.
- But the one who received the seed that fell on good soil is the man who hears the word and understands it. He produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown."
