- いつでも 祈るべきであり， 失望してはならないことを 敎えるために， イエス は 彼らにたとえを 話された．
- 「ある 町に， 神を 恐れず， 人を 人とも 思わない 裁判官がいた．
- その 町に， ひとりのやもめがいたが， 彼のところにやって 來ては， 『私の 相手をさばいて， 私を 守ってください． 』と 言っていた．
- 彼は， しばらくは 取り 合わないでいたが， 後には 心ひそかに『私は 神を 恐れず 人を 人とも 思わないが，
- どうも， このやもめは， うるさくてしかたがないから， この 女のために 裁判をしてやることにしよう． でないと， ひっきりなしにやって 來てうるさくてしかたがない． 』と 言った． 」

- Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.
- He said: "In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared about men.
- And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, 'Grant me justice against my adversary.'
- "For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, 'Even though I don't fear God or care about men,
- yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won't eventually wear me out with her coming!' "

- 主は 言われた． 「不正な 裁判官の 言っていることを 聞きなさい．
- まして 神は， 夜¿神を 呼び 求めている 選民のためにさばきをつけないで， いつまでもそのことを 放っておかれることがあるでしょうか．
- あなたがたに 言いますが， 神は， すみやかに 彼らのために 正しいさばきをしてくださいます． しかし， 人の 子が 來たとき， はたして 地上に 信仰が 見られるでしょうか． 」
- 自分を 義人だと 自任し， 他の 人¿を 見下している 者たちに 對しては， イエス はこのようなたとえを 話された．
- 「ふたりの 人が， 祈るために 宮に 上った． ひとりは パリサイ 人で， もうひとりは 取稅人であった．

- And the Lord said, "Listen to what the unjust judge says.
- And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?
- I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?"
- To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everybody else, Jesus told this parable:
- "Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.

- パリサイ 人は， 立って， 心の 中でこんな 祈りをした． 『神よ． 私はほかの 人¿のようにゆする 者， 不正な 者， 姦淫する 者ではなく， ことにこの 取稅人のようではないことを， 感謝します．
- 私は 週に 二度斷食し， 自分の 受けるものはみな， その 十分の 一をささげております． 』
- ところが， 取稅人は 遠く 離れて 立ち， 目を 天に 向けようともせず， 自分の 胸をたたいて 言った． 『神さま． こんな 罪人の 私をあわれんでください． 』
- あなたがたに 言うが， この 人が， 義と 認められて 家に 歸りました． パリサイ 人ではありません． なぜなら， だれでも 自分を 高くする 者は 低くされ， 自分を 低くする 者は 高くされるからです． 」
- イエス にさわっていただこうとして， 人¿がその 幼子たちを， みもとに 連れて 來た． ところが， 弟子たちがそれを 見てしかった．

- The Pharisee stood up and prayed about himself: 'God, I thank you that I am not like other men--robbers, evildoers, adulterers--or even like this tax collector.
- I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.'
- "But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, 'God, have mercy on me, a sinner.'
- "I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."
- People were also bringing babies to Jesus to have him touch them. When the disciples saw this, they rebuked them.

- しかし イエス は， 幼子たちを 呼び 寄せて， こう 言われた． 「子どもたちをわたしのところに 來させなさい． 止めてはいけません． 神の 國は， このような 者たちのものです．
- まことに， あなたがたに 告げます． 子どものように 神の 國を 受け 入れる 者でなければ， 決してそこに， はいることはできません． 」

- But Jesus called the children to him and said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
- I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it."
