- さて 兄弟たち． 私があなたがたのところへ 行ったとき， 私は， すぐれたことば， すぐれた 知惠を 用いて， 神のあかしを 宣べ 傳えることはしませんでした．
- なぜなら 私は， あなたがたの 間で， イエス · キリスト ， すなわち 十字架につけられた 方のほかは， 何も 知らないことに 決心したからです．
- あなたがたといっしょにいたときの 私は， 弱く， 恐れおののいていました．
- そして， 私のことばと 私の 宣敎とは， 說得力のある 知惠のことばによって 行なわれたものではなく， 御靈と 御力の 現われでした．
- それは， あなたがたの 持つ 信仰が， 人間の 知惠にささえられず， 神の 力にささえられるためでした．

- When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or superior wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God.
- For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.
- I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling.
- My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power,
- so that your faith might not rest on men's wisdom, but on God's power.

- しかし 私たちは， 成人の 間で， 知惠を 語ります． この 知惠は， この 世の 知惠でもなく， この 世の 過ぎ 去って 行く 支配者たちの 知惠でもありません．
- 私たちの 語るのは， 隱された 奧義としての 神の 知惠であって， それは， 神が， 私たちの 榮光のために， 世界の 始まる 前から， あらかじめ 定められたものです．
- この 知惠を， この 世の 支配者たちは， だれひとりとして 悟りませんでした． もし 悟っていたら， 榮光の 主を 十字架につけはしなかったでしょう．
- まさしく， 聖書に 書いてあるとおりです． 「目が 見たことのないもの， 耳が 聞いたことのないもの， そして， 人の 心に 思い 浮んだことのないもの． 神を 愛する 者のために， 神の 備えてくださったものは， みなそうである． 」
- 神はこれを， 御靈によって 私たちに 啓示されたのです． 御靈はすべてのことを 探り， 神の 深みにまで 及ばれるからです．

- We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.
- No, we speak of God's secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began.
- None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
- However, as it is written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him"--
- but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.

- いったい， 人の 心のことは， その 人のうちにある 靈のほかに， だれが 知っているでしょう． 同じように， 神のみこころのことは， 神の 御靈のほかにはだれも 知りません．
- ところで， 私たちは， この 世の 靈を 受けたのではなく， 神の 御靈を 受けました． それは， 惠みによって 神から 私たちに 賜わったものを， 私たちが 知るためです．
- この 賜物について 話すには， 人の 知惠に 敎えられたことばを 用いず， 御靈に 敎えられたことばを 用います． その 御靈のことばをもって 御靈のことを 解くのです．
- 生まれながらの 人間は， 神の 御靈に 屬することを 受け 入れません． それらは 彼には 愚かなことだからです． また， それを 悟ることができません． なぜなら， 御靈のことは 御靈によってわきまえるものだからです．
- 御靈を 受けている 人は， すべてのことをわきまえますが， 自分はだれによってもわきまえられません．

- For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man's spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
- We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us.
- This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words.
- The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.
- The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man's judgment:

- いったい， 「だれが 主のみこころを 知り， 主を 導くことができたか． 」ところが， 私たちには， キリスト の 心があるのです．

- "For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ.
