- すると， 遊女の 裝いをした 心にたくらみのある 女が 彼を 迎えた．

- At the window of my house I looked out through the lattice.
- I saw among the simple, I noticed among the young men, a youth who lacked judgment.
- He was going down the street near her corner, walking along in the direction of her house
- at twilight, as the day was fading, as the dark of night set in.
- Then out came a woman to meet him, dressed like a prostitute and with crafty intent.

- この 女は ¿がしくて， 御しにくく， その 足は 自分の 家にとどまらず，
- あるときは 通りに， あるときは 市場にあり， あるいは， あちこちの 町かどに 立って 待ち 伏せる．
- この 女は 彼をつかまえて 口づけし， 臆面もなく 彼に 言う．
- 「和解のいけにえをささげて， きょう， 私の 誓願を 果たしました．
- それで 私はあなたに 會いに 出て 來たのです． あなたを 搜して， やっとあなたを 見つけました．

- 女はくどき 續けて 彼を 惑わし， へつらいのくちびるで 彼をいざなう．
- 彼はほふり 場に 引かれる 牛のように， 愚か 者を 懲らしめるための 足かせのように， ただちに 女につき 從い，
- ついには， 矢が 肝を 射通し， 鳥がわなに 飛び ¿むように， 自分のいのちがかかっているのを 知らない．
- 子どもらよ． 今， 私に 聞き 從い， 私の 言うことに 心を 留めよ．
- あなたの 心は， 彼女の 道に 迷い ¿んではならない． その 通り 道に 迷ってはならない．
