- しかし， パリサイ 人たちは， イエス が サドカイ 人たちを 默らせたと 聞いて， いっしょに 集まった．
- そして， 彼らのうちのひとりの 律法の 專門家が， イエス をためそうとして， 尋ねた．
- 「先生． 律法の 中で， たいせつな 戒めはどれですか． 」
- そこで， イエス は 彼に 言われた． 「『心を 盡くし， 思いを 盡くし， 知力を 盡くして， あなたの 神である 主を 愛せよ． 』
- これがたいせつな 第一の 戒めです．

- But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together.
- Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,
- Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
- Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
- This is the first and great commandment.

- 『あなたの 隣人をあなた 自身のように 愛せよ． 』という 第二の 戒めも， それと 同じようにたいせつです．
- 律法全體と 預言者とが， この 二つの 戒めにかかっているのです． 」

- イエス は 彼らに 言われた． 「それでは， どうして ダビデ は， 御靈によって， 彼を 主と 呼び，

- And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
- On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
- While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them,
- Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The son of David.
- He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying,

- 『主は 私の 主に 言われた． 「わたしがあなたの 敵をあなたの 足の 下に 從わせるまでは， わたしの 右の 座に 着いていなさい． 」』と 言っているのですか．
- ダビデ が キリスト を 主と 呼んでいるのなら， どうして 彼は ダビデ の 子なのでしょう． 」
- それで， だれも イエス に 一言も 答えることができなかった． また， その 日以來， もはやだれも， イエス にあえて 質問をする 者はなかった．

- The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?
- If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?
- And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.
