- あなたが 彼らの 前に 立てる 定めは 次のとおりである．
- あなたが ヘブル 人の 奴隷を 買う 場合， 彼は 六年間， 仕え， 七年目には 自由の 身として 無償で 去ることができる．
- もし 彼が 獨身で 來たのなら， 獨身で 去り， もし 彼に 妻があれば， その 妻は 彼とともに 去ることができる．
- もし 彼の 主人が 彼に 妻を 與えて， 妻が 彼に 男の 子， または 女の 子を 産んだのなら， この 妻とその 子どもたちは， その 主人のものとなり， 彼は 獨身で 去らなければならない．
- しかし， もし， その 奴隷が， 『私は， 私の 主人と， 私の 妻と， 私の 子どもたちを 愛しています． 自由の 身となって 去りたくありません． 』と， はっきり 言うなら，

- Now these are the judgments which thou shalt set before them.
- If thou buy an Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing.
- If he came in by himself, he shall go out by himself: if he were married, then his wife shall go out with him.
- If his master have given him a wife, and she have born him sons or daughters; the wife and her children shall be her master's, and he shall go out by himself.
- And if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free:

- その 主人は， 彼を 神のもとに 連れて 行き， 戶または 戶口の 柱のところに 連れて 行き， 彼の 耳をきりで 刺し 通さなければならない． 彼はいつまでも 主人に 仕えることができる．
- 人が 自分の 娘を 女奴隷として 賣るような 場合， 彼女は 男奴隷が 去る 場合のように 去ることはできない．
- 彼女がもし， 彼女を 自分のものにしようと 定めた 主人の 氣に 入らなくなったときは， 彼は 彼女が ·い 出されるようにしなければならない． 彼は 彼女を 裏切ったのであるから， 外國の 民に 賣る 權利はない．
- もし， 彼が 彼女を 自分の 息子のものとするなら， 彼女を 娘に 關する 定めによって， 取り 扱わなければならない．
- もし 彼が 他の 女をめとるなら， 先の 女への 食べ 物， 着物， 夫婦の 務めを 減らしてはならない．

- Then his master shall bring him unto the judges; he shall also bring him to the door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an aul; and he shall serve him for ever.
- And if a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the menservants do.
- If she please not her master, who hath betrothed her to himself, then shall he let her be redeemed: to sell her unto a strange nation he shall have no power, seeing he hath dealt deceitfully with her.
- And if he have betrothed her unto his son, he shall deal with her after the manner of daughters.
- If he take him another wife; her food, her raiment, and her duty of marriage, shall he not diminish.

- もし 彼がこれら 三つのことを 彼女に 行なわないなら， 彼女は 金を 拂わないで 無償で 去ることができる．
- 人を 打って 死なせた 者は， 必ず 殺されなければならない．
- ただし， 彼に 殺意がなく， 神が 御手によって 事を 起こされた 場合， わたしはあなたに 彼ののがれる 場所を 指定しよう．

- And if he do not these three unto her, then shall she go out free without money.
- He that smiteth a man, so that he die, shall be surely put to death.
- And if a man lie not in wait, but God deliver him into his hand; then I will appoint thee a place whither he shall flee.
- But if a man come presumptuously upon his neighbour, to slay him with guile; thou shalt take him from mine altar, that he may die.
- And he that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death.

- 人をさらった 者は， その 人を 賣っていても， 自分の 手もとに 置いていても， 必ず 殺されなければならない．
- 自分の 父または 母をのろう 者は， 必ず 殺されなければならない．
- 人が 爭い， ひとりが 石かこぶしで 相手を 打ち， その 相手が 死なないで 床についた 場合，
- もし 再び 起き 上がり， 杖によって， 外を 步くようになれば， 打った 者は 罰せられない． ただ 彼が 休んだ 分を 弁償し， 彼が 完全に 直るようにしてやらなければならない．
- 自分の 男奴隷， あるいは 女奴隷を 杖で 打ち， その 場で 死なせた 場合， その 者は 必ず 復讐されなければならない．

- And he that stealeth a man, and selleth him, or if he be found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death.
- And he that curseth his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death.
- And if men strive together, and one smite another with a stone, or with his fist, and he die not, but keepeth his bed:
- If he rise again, and walk abroad upon his staff, then shall he that smote him be quit: only he shall pay for the loss of his time, and shall cause him to be thoroughly healed.
- And if a man smite his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he shall be surely punished.

- ただし， もしその 奴隷が 一日か 二日生きのびたなら， その 者は 復讐されない． 奴隷は 彼の 財産だからである．
- 人が 爭っていて， みごもった 女に 突き 當たり， 流産させるが， 殺傷事故がない 場合， 彼はその 女の 夫が 負わせるだけの 罰金を 必ず 拂わなければならない． その 支拂いは 裁定による．
- しかし， 殺傷事故があれば， いのちにはいのちを 與えなければならない．
- 目には 目． 齒には 齒． 手には 手． 足には 足．
- やけどにはやけど． 傷には 傷． 打ち 傷には 打ち 傷．

- Notwithstanding, if he continue a day or two, he shall not be punished: for he is his money.
- If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine.
- And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life,
- Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,
- Burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.

- 自分の 男奴隷の 片目， あるいは 女奴隷の 片目を 打ち， これをそこなった 場合， その 目の 代償として， その 奴隷を 自由の 身にしなければならない．
- また， 自分の 男奴隷の 齒一本， あるいは 女奴隷の 齒一本を 打ち 落としたなら， その 齒の 代償として， その 奴隷を 自由の 身にしなければならない．
- 牛が 男または 女を 突いて 殺した 場合， その 牛は 必ず 石で 打ち 殺さなければならない． その 肉を 食べてはならない． しかし， その 牛の 持ち 主は 無罪である．
- しかし， もし， 牛が 以前から 突くくせがあり， その 持ち 主が 注意されていても， それを 監視せず， その 牛が 男または 女を 殺したのなら， その 牛は 石で 打ち 殺し， その 持ち 主も 殺されなければならない．
- もし 彼に ·い 金が 課せられたなら， 自分に 課せられたものは 何でも， 自分のいのちの 償いとして 支拂わなければならない．

- And if a man smite the eye of his servant, or the eye of his maid, that it perish; he shall let him go free for his eye's sake.
- And if he smite out his manservant's tooth, or his maidservant's tooth; he shall let him go free for his tooth's sake.
- If an ox gore a man or a woman, that they die: then the ox shall be surely stoned, and his flesh shall not be eaten; but the owner of the ox shall be quit.
- But if the ox were wont to push with his horn in time past, and it hath been testified to his owner, and he hath not kept him in, but that he hath killed a man or a woman; the ox shall be stoned, and his owner also shall be put to death.
- If there be laid on him a sum of money, then he shall give for the ransom of his life whatsoever is laid upon him.

- 男の 子を 突いても， 女の 子を 突いても， この 規定のとおりに 處理されなければならない．
- もしその 牛が， 男奴隷， あるいは 女奴隷を 突いたなら， 牛の 持ち 主はその 奴隷の 主人に 銀貨三十 シェケル を 支拂い， その 牛は 石で 打ち 殺されなければならない．
- 井戶のふたをあけていたり， あるいは， 井戶を 掘って， それにふたをしないでいたりして， 牛やろばがそこに 落ち ¿んだ 場合，
- その 井戶の 持ち 主は 金を 支拂って， その 持ち 主に 償いをしなければならない． しかし， その 死んだ 家畜は 彼のものとなる．
- ある 人の 牛が， もうひとりの 人の 牛を 突いて， その 牛が 死んだ 場合， 兩者は 生きている 牛を 賣って， その 金を 分け， また 死んだ 牛も 分けなければならない．

- Whether he have gored a son, or have gored a daughter, according to this judgment shall it be done unto him.
- If the ox shall push a manservant or a maidservant; he shall give unto their master thirty shekels of silver, and the ox shall be stoned.
- And if a man shall open a pit, or if a man shall dig a pit, and not cover it, and an ox or an ass fall therein;
- The owner of the pit shall make it good, and give money unto the owner of them; and the dead beast shall be his.
- And if one man's ox hurt another's, that he die; then they shall sell the live ox, and divide the money of it; and the dead ox also they shall divide.

- しかし， その 牛が 以前から 突くくせのあることがわかっていて， その 持ち 主が 監視をしなかったのなら， その 人は 必ず 牛は 牛で 償わなければならない． しかし， その 死んだ 牛は 自分のものとなる．

- Or if it be known that the ox hath used to push in time past, and his owner hath not kept him in; he shall surely pay ox for ox; and the dead shall be his own.
