- イエス がまだ 話しておられるうちに， 見よ， 十二弟子のひとりである ユダ がやって 來た． 劍や 棒を 手にした 大ぜいの 群衆もいっしょであった． 群衆はみな， 祭司長， 民の 長老たちから 差し 向けられたものであった．
- イエス を 裏切る 者は， 彼らと 合圖を 決めて， 「私が 口づけをするのが， その 人だ． その 人をつかまえるのだ． 」と 言っておいた．
- それで， 彼はすぐに イエス に 近づき， 「先生． お 元氣で． 」と 言って， 口づけした．
- イエス は 彼に， 「友よ． 何のために 來たのですか． 」と 言われた． そのとき， 群衆が 來て， イエス に 手をかけて 捕えた．
- すると， イエス といっしょにいた 者のひとりが， 手を 伸ばして 劍を 拔き， 大祭司のしもべに 擊ってかかり， その 耳を 切り 落とした．

- And while he yet spake, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people.
- Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast.
- And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him.
- And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus and took him.
- And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest's, and smote off his ear.

- そのとき， イエス は 彼に 言われた． 「劍をもとに 納めなさい． 劍を 取る 者はみな 劍で 滅びます．
- それとも， わたしが 父にお 願いして， 十二軍團よりも 多くの 御使いを， 今わたしの 配下に 置いていただくことができないとでも 思うのですか．
- だが， そのようなことをすれば， こうならなければならないと 書いてある 聖書が， どうして 實現されましょう． 」
- そのとき， イエス は 群衆に 言われた． 「まるで 强盜にでも 向かうように， 劍や 棒を 持ってわたしをつかまえに 來たのですか． わたしは 每日， 宮ですわって 敎えていたのに， あなたがたは， わたしを 捕えなかったのです．
- しかし， すべてこうなったのは， 預言者たちの 書が 實現するためです． 」そのとき， 弟子たちはみな， イエス を 見捨てて， 逃げてしまった．

- Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.
- Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?
- But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?
- In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me.
- But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.

- イエス をつかまえた 人たちは， イエス を 大祭司 カヤパ のところへ 連れて 行った． そこには， 律法學者， 長老たちが 集まっていた．
- しかし， ペテロ も 遠くから イエス のあとをつけながら， 大祭司の 中庭まではいって 行き， 成り 行きを 見ようと 役人たちといっしょにすわった．
- さて， 祭司長たちと 全議會は， イエス を 死刑にするために， イエス を 訴える 僞證を 求めていた．
- 僞證者がたくさん 出て 來たが， 證據はつかめなかった． しかし， 最後にふたりの 者が 進み 出て，
- 言った． 「この 人は， 『わたしは 神の 神殿をこわして， それを 三日のうちに 建て 直せる． 』と 言いました． 」

- And they that had laid hold on Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.
- But Peter followed him afar off unto the high priest's palace, and went in, and sat with the servants, to see the end.
- Now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death;
- But found none: yea, though many false witnesses came, yet found they none. At the last came two false witnesses,
- And said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.

- そこで， 大祭司は 立ち 上がって イエス に 言った． 「何も 答えないのですか． この 人たちが， あなたに 不利な 證言をしていますが， これはどうなのですか． 」
- しかし， イエス は 默っておられた． それで， 大祭司は イエス に 言った． 「私は， 生ける 神によって， あなたに 命じます． あなたは 神の 子 キリスト なのか， どうか． その 答えを 言いなさい． 」
- イエス は 彼に 言われた． 「あなたの 言うとおりです． なお， あなたがたに 言っておきますが， 今からのち， 人の 子が， 力ある 方の 右の 座に 着き， 天の 雲に 乘って 來るのを， あなたがたは 見ることになります． 」
- すると， 大祭司は， 自分の 衣を 引き 裂いて 言った． 「神への 冒瀆だ． これでもまだ， 證人が 必要でしょうか． あなたがたは， 今， 神をけがすことばを 聞いたのです．
- どう 考えますか． 」彼らは 答えて， 「彼は 死刑に 當たる． 」と 言った．

- And the high priest arose, and said unto him, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee?
- But Jesus held his peace, And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.
- Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
- Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy.
- What think ye? They answered and said, He is guilty of death.

- そうして， 彼らは イエス の 顔につばきをかけ， こぶしでなぐりつけ， また， 他の 者たちは， イエス を 平手で 打って，
- こう 言った． 「當ててみろ． キリスト ． あなたを 打ったのはだれか． 」

- Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and others smote him with the palms of their hands,
- Saying, Prophesy unto us, thou Christ, Who is he that smote thee?
