- さて， イエス はある 所で 祈っておられた． その 祈りが 終わると， 弟子のひとりが， イエス に 言った． 「主よ． ヨハネ が 弟子たちに 敎えたように， 私たちにも 祈りを 敎えてください． 」
- そこで イエス は， 彼らに 言われた． 「祈るときには， こう 言いなさい． 『父よ． 御名があがめられますように． 御國が 來ますように．
- 私たちの 日ごとの 糧を 每日お 與えください．
- 私たちの 罪をお 赦しください． 私たちも 私たちに 負いめのある 者をみな 赦します． 私たちを 試みに 會わせないでください． 』」
- また， イエス はこう 言われた． 「あなたがたのうち， だれかに 友だちがいるとして， 眞夜中にその 人のところに 行き， 『君． パン を 三つ 貸してくれ．

- And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.
- And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.
- Give us day by day our daily bread.
- And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.
- And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves;

- 友人が 旅の 途中， 私のうちへ 來たのだが， 出してやるものがないのだ． 』と 言ったとします．
- すると， 彼は 家の 中からこう 答えます． 『めんどうをかけないでくれ． もう 戶締まりもしてしまったし， 子どもたちも 私も 寢ている． 起きて， 何かをやることはできない． 』
- あなたがたに 言いますが， 彼は 友だちだからということで 起きて 何かを 與えることはしないにしても， あくまで 賴み 續けるなら， そのためには 起き 上がって， 必要な 物を 與えるでしょう．
- わたしは， あなたがたに 言います． 求めなさい． そうすれば 與えられます． 搜しなさい． そうすれば 見つかります． たたきなさい． そうすれば 開かれます．
- だれであっても， 求める 者は 受け， 搜す 者は 見つけ 出し， たたく 者には 開かれます．

- For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him?
- And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee.
- I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth.
- And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
- For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

- あなたがたの 中で， 子どもが 魚を 下さいと 言うときに， 魚の 代わりに 蛇を 與えるような 父親が， いったいいるでしょうか．
- 卵を 下さいと 言うのに， だれが， さそりを 與えるでしょう．
- してみると， あなたがたも， 惡い 者ではあっても， 自分の 子どもには 良い 物を 與えることを 知っているのです． とすれば， なおのこと， 天の 父が， 求める 人たちに， どうして 聖靈を 下さらないことがありましょう． 」

- If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?
- Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
- If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
