- さて， パリサイ 人の 中に ニコデモ という 人がいた． ユダヤ 人の 指導者であった．
- この 人が， 夜， イエス のもとに 來て 言った． 「先生． 私たちは， あなたが 神のもとから 來られた 敎師であることを 知っています． 神がともにおられるのでなければ， あなたがなさるこのようなしるしは， だれも 行なうことができません． 」
- イエス は 答えて 言われた． 「まことに， まことに， あなたに 告げます． 人は， 新しく 生まれなければ， 神の 國を 見ることはできません． 」
- ニコデモ は 言った． 「人は， 老年になっていて， どのようにして 生まれることができるのですか． もう 一度， 母の 胎にはいって 生まれることができましょうか． 」
- イエス は 答えられた． 「まことに， まことに， あなたに 告げます． 人は， 水と 御靈によって 生まれなければ， 神の 國にはいることができません．

- There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
- The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
- Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
- Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
- Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

- 肉によって 生まれた 者は 肉です． 御靈によって 生まれた 者は 靈です．
- あなたがたは 新しく 生まれなければならない， とわたしが 言ったことを 不思議に 思ってはなりません．
- 風はその 思いのままに 吹き， あなたはその 音を 聞くが， それがどこから 來てどこへ 行くかを 知らない． 御靈によって 生まれる 者もみな， そのとおりです． 」
- ニコデモ は 答えて 言った． 「どうして， そのようなことがありうるのでしょう． 」
- イエス は 答えて 言われた． 「あなたは イスラエル の 敎師でありながら， こういうことがわからないのですか．

- That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
- Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
- The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
- Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?
- Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?

- まことに， まことに， あなたに 告げます． わたしたちは， 知っていることを 話し， 見たことをあかししているのに， あなたがたは， わたしたちのあかしを 受け 入れません．
- あなたがたは， わたしが 地上のことを 話したとき， 信じないくらいなら， 天上のことを 話したとて， どうして 信じるでしょう．
- だれも 天に 上った 者はいません． しかし 天から 下った 者はいます． すなわち 人の 子です．
- モ ― セ が 荒野で 蛇を 上げたように， 人の 子もまた 上げられなければなりません．
- それは， 信じる 者がみな， 人の 子にあって 永遠のいのちを 持つためです． 」

- Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.
- If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
- And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
- And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
- That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

- 神は， 實に， そのひとり 子をお 與えになったほどに， 世を 愛された． それは 御子を 信じる 者が， ひとりとして 滅びることなく， 永遠のいのちを 持つためである．
- 神が 御子を 世に 遣わされたのは， 世をさばくためではなく， 御子によって 世が 救われるためである．
- 御子を 信じる 者はさばかれない． 信じない 者は 神のひとり 子の 御名を 信じなかったので， すでにさばかれている．
- そのさばきというのは， こうである． 光が 世に 來ているのに， 人¿は 光よりもやみを 愛した． その 行ないが 惡かったからである．
- 惡いことをする 者は 光を 憎み， その 行ないが 明るみに 出されることを 恐れて， 光のほうに 來ない．

- For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
- For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
- He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
- And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
- For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

- しかし， 眞理を 行なう 者は， 光のほうに 來る． その 行ないが 神にあってなされたことが 明らかにされるためである．

- But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
