- わたしは， 自分からは 何事も 行なうことができません． ただ 聞くとおりにさばくのです． そして， わたしのさばきは 正しいのです． わたし 自身の 望むことを 求めず， わたしを 遣わした 方のみこころを 求めるからです．
- もしわたしだけが 自分のことを 證言するのなら， わたしの 證言は 眞實ではありません．
- わたしについて 證言する 方がほかにあるのです． その 方のわたしについて 證言される 證言が 眞實であることは， わたしが 知っています．
- あなたがたは， ヨハネ のところに 人をやりましたが， 彼は 眞理について 證言しました．
- といっても， わたしは 人の 證言を 受けるのではありません． わたしは， あなたがたが 救われるために， そのことを 言うのです．

- I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.
- If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true.
- There is another that beareth witness of me; and I know that the witness which he witnesseth of me is true.
- Ye sent unto John, and he bare witness unto the truth.
- But I receive not testimony from man: but these things I say, that ye might be saved.

- 彼は 燃えて 輝くともしびであり， あなたがたはしばらくの 間， その 光の 中で 樂しむことを 願ったのです．
- しかし， わたしには ヨハネ の 證言よりもすぐれた 證言があります． 父がわたしに 成し 遂げさせようとしてお 與えになったわざ， すなわちわたしが 行なっているわざそのものが， わたしについて， 父がわたしを 遣わしたことを 證言しているのです．
- また， わたしを 遣わした 父ご 自身がわたしについて 證言しておられます． あなたがたは， まだ 一度もその 御聲を 聞いたこともなく， 御姿を 見たこともありません．
- また， そのみことばをあなたがたのうちにとどめてもいません． 父が 遣わした 者をあなたがたが 信じないからです．
- あなたがたは， 聖書の 中に 永遠のいのちがあると 思うので， 聖書を 調べています． その 聖書が， わたしについて 證言しているのです．

- He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.
- But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me.
- And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.
- And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not.
- Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

- それなのに， あなたがたは， いのちを 得るためにわたしのもとに 來ようとはしません．
- わたしは 人からの 榮譽は 受けません．
- ただ， わたしはあなたがたを 知っています． あなたがたのうちには， 神の 愛がありません．
- わたしはわたしの 父の 名によって 來ましたが， あなたがたはわたしを 受け 入れません． ほかの 人がその 人自身の 名において 來れば， あなたがたはその 人を 受け 入れるのです．
- 互いの 榮譽は 受けても， 唯一の 神からの 榮譽を 求めないあなたがたは， どうして 信じることができますか．

- And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.
- I receive not honour from men.
- But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you.
- I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.
- How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?

- わたしが， 父の 前にあなたがたを 訴えようとしていると 思ってはなりません． あなたがたを 訴える 者は， あなたがたが 望みをおいている モ ― セ です．
- もしあなたがたが モ ― セ を 信じているのなら， わたしを 信じたはずです． モ ― セ が 書いたのはわたしのことだからです．
- しかし， あなたがたが モ ― セ の 書を 信じないのであれば， どうしてわたしのことばを 信じるでしょう． 」

- Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust.
- For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me; for he wrote of me.
- But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?
