- イエス は オリ ― ブ 山に 行かれた．
- そして， 朝早く， イエス はもう 一度宮にはいられた． 民衆はみな， みもとに 寄って 來た． イエス はすわって， 彼らに 敎え 始められた．
- すると， 律法學者と パリサイ 人が， 姦淫の 場で 捕えられたひとりの 女を 連れて 來て， 眞中に 置いてから，
- イエス に 言った． 「先生． この 女は 姦淫の 現場でつかまえられたのです．
- モ ― セ は 律法の 中で， こういう 女を 石打ちにするように 命じています． ところで， あなたは 何と 言われますか． 」

- Jesus went unto the mount of Olives.
- And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them.
- And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,
- They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.
- Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?

- 彼らは イエス をためしてこう 言ったのである． それは， イエス を 告發する 理由を 得るためであった． しかし， イエス は 身をかがめて， 指で 地面に 書いておられた．
- けれども， 彼らが 問い 續けてやめなかったので， イエス は 身を 起こして 言われた． 「あなたがたのうちで 罪のない 者が， 最初に 彼女に 石を 投げなさい． 」
- そして イエス は， もう 一度身をかがめて， 地面に 書かれた．
- 彼らはそれを 聞くと， 年長者たちから 始めて， ひとりひとり 出て 行き， イエス がひとり 殘された． 女はそのままそこにいた．
- イエス は 身を 起こして， その 女に 言われた． 「婦人よ． あの 人たちは 今どこにいますか． あなたを 罪に 定める 者はなかったのですか． 」

- This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.
- So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
- And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.
- And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.
- When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?

- 彼女は 言った． 「だれもいません． 」そこで， イエス は 言われた． 「わたしもあなたを 罪に 定めない． 行きなさい． 今からは 決して 罪を 犯してはなりません． 」〕
- イエス はまた 彼らに 語って 言われた． 「わたしは， 世の 光です． わたしに 從う 者は， 決してやみの 中を 步むことがなく， いのちの 光を 持つのです． 」
- そこで パリサイ 人は イエス に 言った． 「あなたは 自分のことを 自分で 證言しています． だから， あなたの 證言は 眞實ではありません． 」
- イエス は 答えて， 彼らに 言われた． 「もしこのわたしが 自分のことを 證言するなら， その 證言は 眞實です． わたしは， わたしがどこから 來たか， また， どこへ 行くかを 知っているからです． しかしあなたがたは， わたしがどこから 來たのか， またどこへ 行くのか 知りません．
- あなたがたは 肉によってさばきます． わたしはだれをもさばきません．

- She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
- Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
- The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true.
- Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go.
- Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.

- しかし， もしわたしがさばくなら， そのさばきは 正しいのです． なぜなら， わたしひとりではなく， わたしとわたしを 遣わした 方とがさばくのだからです．
- あなたがたの 律法にも， ふたりの 證言は 眞實であると 書かれています．
- わたしが 自分の 證人であり， また， わたしを 遣わした 父が， わたしについてあかしされます． 」
- すると， 彼らは イエス に 言った． 「あなたの 父はどこにいるのですか． 」 イエス は 答えられた． 「あなたがたは， わたしをも， わたしの 父をも 知りません． もし， あなたがたがわたしを 知っていたなら， わたしの 父をも 知っていたでしょう． 」
- イエス は 宮で 敎えられたとき， 獻金箱のある 所でこのことを 話された． しかし， だれも イエス を 捕えなかった． イエス の 時がまだ 來ていなかったからである．

- And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.
- It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.
- I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.
- Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.
- These words spake Jesus in the treasury, as he taught in the temple: and no man laid hands on him; for his hour was not yet come.
