- さて， 過越の 祭りの 前に， この 世を 去って 父のみもとに 行くべき 自分の 時が 來たことを 知られたので， 世にいる 自分のものを 愛された イエス は， その 愛を 殘るところなく 示された．
- 夕食の 間のことであった． 惡魔はすでに シモン の 子 イスカリオテ · ユダ の 心に， イエス を 賣ろうとする 思いを 入れていたが，
- イエス は， 父が 万物を 自分の 手に 渡されたことと， ご 自分が 父から 來て 父に 行くことを 知られ，
- 夕食の 席から 立ち 上がって， 上着を 脫ぎ， 手ぬぐいを 取って 腰にまとわれた．
- それから， たらいに 水を 入れ， 弟子たちの 足を 洗って， 腰にまとっておられる 手ぬぐいで， ふき 始められた．

- Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end.
- And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him;
- Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he was come from God, and went to God;
- He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself.
- After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded.

- こうして， イエス は シモン · ペテロ のところに 來られた． ペテロ は イエス に 言った． 「主よ． あなたが， 私の 足を 洗ってくださるのですか． 」
- イエス は 答えて 言われた． 「わたしがしていることは， 今はあなたにはわからないが， あとでわかるようになります． 」
- ペテロ は イエス に 言った． 「決して 私の 足をお 洗いにならないでください． 」 イエス は 答えられた． 「もしわたしが 洗わなければ， あなたはわたしと 何の 關係もありません． 」
- シモン · ペテロ は 言った． 「主よ． わたしの 足だけでなく， 手も 頭も 洗ってください． 」
- イエス は 彼に 言われた． 「水浴した 者は， 足以外は 洗う 必要がありません． 全身きよいのです． あなたがたはきよいのですが， みながそうではありません． 」

- Then cometh he to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet?
- Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.
- Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me.
- Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head.
- Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all.

- イエス はご 自分を 裏切る 者を 知っておられた． それで， 「みながきよいのではない． 」と 言われたのである．
- イエス は， 彼らの 足を 洗い 終わり， 上着を 着けて， 再び 席に 着いて， 彼らに 言われた． 「わたしがあなたがたに 何をしたか， わかりますか．
- あなたがたはわたしを 先生とも 主とも 呼んでいます． あなたがたがそう 言うのはよい． わたしはそのような 者だからです．
- それで， 主であり 師であるこのわたしが， あなたがたの 足を 洗ったのですから， あなたがたもまた 互いに 足を 洗い 合うべきです．
- わたしがあなたがたにしたとおりに， あなたがたもするように， わたしはあなたがたに 模範を 示したのです．

- For he knew who should betray him; therefore said he, Ye are not all clean.
- So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, and was set down again, he said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you?
- Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.
- If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet.
- For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.

- まことに， まことに， あなたがたに 告げます． しもべはその 主人にまさらず， 遣わされた 者は 遣わした 者にまさるものではありません．
- あなたがたがこれらのことを 知っているのなら， それを 行なうときに， あなたがたは 祝福されるのです．
- わたしは， あなたがた 全部の 者について 言っているのではありません． わたしは， わたしが 選んだ 者を 知っています． しかし 聖書に『わたしの パン を 食べている 者が， わたしに 向かってかかとを 上げた． 』と 書いてあることは 成就するのです．
- わたしは， そのことが 起こる 前に， 今あなたがたに 話しておきます． そのことが 起こったときに， わたしがその 人であることをあなたがたが 信じるためです．
- まことに， まことに， あなたがたに 告げます． わたしの 遣わす 者を 受け 入れる 者は， わたしを 受け 入れるのです． わたしを 受け 入れる 者は， わたしを 遣わした 方を 受け 入れるのです． 」

- Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.
- If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.
- I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me hath lifted up his heel against me.
- Now I tell you before it come, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe that I am he.
- Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.
