- 彼らは イエス を 受け 取った． そして， イエス はご 自分で 十字架を 負って， 「どくろの 地 」という 場所（ヘブル 語で ゴルゴタ と 言われる ）に 出て 行かれた．
- 彼らはそこで イエス を 十字架につけた． イエス といっしょに， ほかのふたりの 者をそれぞれ 兩側に， イエス を 眞中にしてであった．
- ピラト は 罪狀書きも 書いて， 十字架の 上に 揭げた． それには「ユダヤ 人の 王 ナザレ 人 イエス ． 」と 書いてあった．
- それで， 大ぜいの ユダヤ 人がこの 罪狀書きを 讀んだ． イエス が 十字架につけられた 場所は 都に 近かったからである． またそれは ヘブル 語， ラテン 語， ギリシヤ 語で 書いてあった．
- そこで， ユダヤ 人の 祭司長たちが ピラト に， 「ユダヤ 人の 王， と 書かないで， 彼は ユダヤ 人の 王と 自稱した， と 書いてください． 」と 言った．

- And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha:
- Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst.
- And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS.
- This title then read many of the Jews: for the place where Jesus was crucified was nigh to the city: and it was written in Hebrew, and Greek, and Latin.
- Then said the chief priests of the Jews to Pilate, Write not, The King of the Jews; but that he said, I am King of the Jews.

- ピラト は 答えた． 「私の 書いたことは 私が 書いたのです． 」
- さて， 兵士たちは， イエス を 十字架につけると， イエス の 着物を 取り， ひとりの 兵士に 一つずつあたるよう 四分した． また 下着をも 取ったが， それは 上から 全部一つに 織った， 縫い 目なしのものであった．
- そこで 彼らは 互いに 言った． 「それは 裂かないで， だれの 物になるか， くじを 引こう． 」それは， 「彼らはわたしの 着物を 分け 合い， わたしの 下着のためにくじを 引いた． 」という 聖書が 成就するためであった．
- 兵士たちはこのようなことをしたが， イエス の 十字架のそばには， イエス の 母と 母の 姉妹と， クロパ の 妻の マリヤ と マグダラ の マリヤ が 立っていた．
- イエス は， 母と， そばに 立っている 愛する 弟子とを 見て， 母に「女の 方． そこに， あなたの 息子がいます． 」と 言われた．

- Pilate answered, What I have written I have written.
- Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments, and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also his coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout.
- They said therefore among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, They parted my raiment among them, and for my vesture they did cast lots. These things therefore the soldiers did.
- Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene.
- When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son!

- それからその 弟子に「そこに， あなたの 母がいます． 」と 言われた． その 時から， この 弟子は 彼女を 自分の 家に 引き 取った．
- この 後， イエス は， すべてのことが 完了したのを 知って， 聖書が 成就するために， 「わたしは 渴く． 」と 言われた．
- そこには 酸いぶどう 酒のいっぱいはいった 入れ 物が 置いてあった． そこで 彼らは， 酸いぶどう 酒を 含んだ 海綿を ヒソプ の 枝につけて， それを イエス の 口もとに 差し 出した．
- イエス は， 酸いぶどう 酒を 受けられると， 「完了した． 」と 言われた． そして， 頭を 垂れて， 靈をお 渡しになった．
- その 日は 備え 日であったため， ユダヤ 人たちは 安息日に（その 安息日は 大いなる 日であったので ）， 死體を 十字架の 上に 殘しておかないように， すねを 折ってそれを 取りのける 處置を ピラト に 願った．

- Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.
- After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.
- Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth.
- When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
- The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.

- それで， 兵士たちが 來て， イエス といっしょに 十字架につけられた 第一の 者と， もうひとりの 者とのすねを 折った．
- しかし， イエス のところに 來ると， イエス がすでに 死んでおられるのを 認めたので， そのすねを 折らなかった．
- しかし， 兵士のうちのひとりが イエス のわき 腹を 槍で 突き 刺した． すると， ただちに 血と 水が 出て 來た．
- それを 目擊した 者があかしをしているのである． そのあかしは 眞實である． その 人が， あなたがたにも 信じさせるために， 眞實を 話すということをよく 知っているのである．
- この 事が 起こったのは， 「彼の 骨は 一つも ¿かれない． 」という 聖書のことばが 成就するためであった．

- Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him.
- But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs:
- But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.
- And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.
- For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.

- また 聖書の 別のところには， 「彼らは 自分たちが 突き 刺した 方を 見る． 」と 言われているからである．
- そのあとで， イエス の 弟子ではあったが ユダヤ 人を 恐れてそのことを 隱していた アリマタヤ の ヨセフ が， イエス のからだを 取りかたづけたいと ピラト に 願った． それで， ピラト は 許可を 與えた． そこで 彼は 來て， イエス のからだを 取り 降ろした．
- 前に， 夜 イエス のところに 來た ニコデモ も， ¿藥と アロエ を 混ぜ 合わせたものをおよそ 三十 キログラム ばかり 持って， やって 來た．
- そこで， 彼らは イエス のからだを 取り， ユダヤ 人の 埋葬の 習慣に 從って， それを 香料といっしょに 亞麻布で 卷いた．
- イエス が 十字架につけられた 場所に 園があって， そこには， まだだれも 葬られたことのない 新しい 墓があった．

- And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced.
- And after this Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, besought Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave him leave. He came therefore, and took the body of Jesus.
- And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound weight.
- Then took they the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury.
- Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden a new sepulchre, wherein was never man yet laid.

- その 日が ユダヤ 人の 備え 日であったため， 墓が 近かったので， 彼らは イエス をそこに 納めた．

- There laid they Jesus therefore because of the Jews' preparation day; for the sepulchre was nigh at hand.
