- その 翌日， 彼らは カイザリヤ に 着いた． コルネリオ は， 親族や 親しい 友人たちを 呼び 集め， 彼らを 待っていた．
- ペテロ が 着くと， コルネリオ は 出迎えて， 彼の 足もとにひれ 伏して 拜んだ．
- すると ペテロ は 彼を 起こして， 「お 立ちなさい． 私もひとりの 人間です． 」と 言った．
- それから， コルネリオ とことばをかわしながら 家にはいり， 多くの 人が 集まっているのを 見て，
- 彼らにこう 言った． 「ご 承知のとおり， ユダヤ 人が 外國人の 仲間にはいったり， 訪問したりするのは， 律法にかなわないことです． ところが， 神は 私に， どんな 人のことでも， きよくないとか， 汚れているとか 言ってはならないことを 示してくださいました．

- And the morrow after they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius waited for them, and he had called together his kinsmen and near friends.
- And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him.
- But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man.
- And as he talked with him, he went in, and found many that were come together.
- And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

- それで， お 迎えを 受けたとき， ためらわずに 來たのです． そこで， お 尋ねしますが， あなたがたは， いったいどういうわけで 私をお 招きになったのですか． 」
- すると コルネリオ がこう 言った． 「四日前のこの 時刻に， 私が 家で 午後三時の 祈りをしていますと， どうでしょう， 輝いた 衣を 着た 人が， 私の 前に 立って，
- こう 言いました． 『コルネリオ ． あなたの 祈りは 聞き 入れられ， あなたの 施しは 神の 前に 覺えられている．
- それで， ヨッパ に 人をやって シモン を 招きなさい． 彼の 名は ペテロ とも 呼ばれている． この 人は 海べにある， 皮なめしの シモン の 家に 泊まっている． 』
- それで， 私はすぐあなたのところへ 人を 送ったのですが， よくおいでくださいました． いま 私たちは， 主があなたにお 命じになったすべてのことを 伺おうとして， みな 神の 御前に 出ております． 」

- Therefore came I unto you without gainsaying, as soon as I was sent for: I ask therefore for what intent ye have sent for me?
- And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,
- And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.
- Send therefore to Joppa, and call hither Simon, whose surname is Peter; he is lodged in the house of one Simon a tanner by the sea side: who, when he cometh, shall speak unto thee.
- Immediately therefore I sent to thee; and thou hast well done that thou art come. Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee of God.

- そこで ペテロ は， 口を 開いてこういった． 「これで 私は， はっきりわかりました． 神はかたよったことをなさらず，
- どの 國の 人であっても， 神を 恐れかしこみ， 正義を 行なう 人なら， 神に 受け 入れられるのです．
- 神は イエス · キリスト によって， 平和を 宣べ 傳え， イスラエル の 子孫にみことばをお 送りになりました． この イエス · キリスト はすべての 人の 主です．
- あなたがたは， ヨハネ が 宣べ 傳えた バプテスマ の 後， ガリラヤ から 始まって， ユダヤ 全土に 起こった 事がらを， よくご 存じです．
- それは， ナザレ の イエス のことです． 神はこの 方に 聖靈と 力を 注がれました． この イエス は， 神がともにおられたので， 巡り 步いて 良いわざをなし， また 惡魔に 制せられているすべての 者をいやされました．

- Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
- But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.
- The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:)
- That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;
- How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

- 私たちは， イエス が ユダヤ 人の 地と エルサレム とで 行なわれたすべてのことの 證人です． 人¿はこの 方を 木にかけて 殺しました．
- しかし， 神はこの イエス を 三日目によみがえらせ， 現われさせてくださいました．
- しかし， それはすべての 人¿にではなく， 神によって 前もって 選ばれた 證人である 私たちにです． 私たちは， イエス が 死者の 中からよみがえられて 後， ごいっしょに 食事をしました．
- イエス は 私たちに 命じて， この イエス こそ 生きている 者と 死んだ 者とのさばき 主として， 神によって 定められた 方であることを 人¿に 宣べ 傳え， そのあかしをするように， 言われたのです．
- イエス については， 預言者たちもみな， この 方を 信じる 者はだれでも， その 名によって 罪の 赦しが 受けられる， とあかししています． 」

- And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree:
- Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly;
- Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead.
- And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.
- To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

- ペテロ がなおもこれらのことばを 話し 續けているとき， みことばに 耳を 傾けていたすべての 人¿に， 聖靈がお 下りになった．
- 割禮を 受けている 信者で， ペテロ といっしょに 來た 人たちは， 異邦人にも 聖靈の 賜物が 注がれたので 驚いた．
- 彼らが 異言を 話し， 神を 贊美するのを 聞いたからである． そこで ペテロ はこう 言った．
- 「この 人たちは， 私たちと 同じように， 聖靈を 受けたのですから， いったいだれが， 水をさし 止めて， この 人たちに バプテスマ を 受けさせないようにすることができましょうか． 」
- そして， イエス · キリスト の 御名によって バプテスマ を 受けるように 彼らに 命じた． 彼らは， ペテロ に 數日間滯在するように 願った．

- While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
- And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
- For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,
- Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
- And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.
